This is a fraud campaign currently active in Canada using a series of Iristel VOIP numbers.  The objective is to obtain your credit card number and drain your account.

If you attempt to "opt out" your number will be confirmed as live and added to a suckers list for repeated future calls.

I keep getting calls from this number at different times during the day - they do not leave a messgae, but they stay on long enough to have the voice mail kick in - leaving a blank message

Recognised the number from earlier messages and, because they are on my "do not pick up" printed list (with currently 200 entries), did not answer. While I am on the CRTC's "do not call" list, the unwanted calls keep coming. I have yet to hear of any business or organisation having been fined by the CRTC for violating the rule. Maybe I should retain a friendly (equally frustrated) lawyer and start a civil suit - which might include some very uncivil communications.

Received call from this number. When I answered it, I just heard dead air. I kept saying hello for about a minute with no response, so I hung up.
