This is a fraud campaign currently active in Canada using a series of VOIP numbers. The objective is to obtain your credit card number and drain your account.
If you attempt to "opt out" your number will be confirmed as live and added to a suckers list for repeated future calls.

A***oles called my cell phone at 7:46 a.m. today. I am so fed up with these types of calls, obviously the 'Do Not Call Registry' is a joke and isn't working.

Press 1 now to find out the terms, conditions, and associated changes before the next billing cycle.
Again, this is your final notice, as it relates to the financial stimulus.

Everything I have read above is what happened to me several times, very frustrating called Bell but they can't do anything. Maybe we should string them along waste their time and give all kinds of false information.
I have an air duct company calling me at least once a month, i started telling them i wanted my duct cleaned and they sign me up but I tell them we have moved in the last year so the address is different do you know how much time I am wasting for them, hope the company stops using India
dollypig 2012-05-08 19:50:49 Unknown
Same thing happened to me, called Bell but they will do nothing

These guys are scammers. The number they are using is licensed by Telus. I didn't pick up because I don't know who it was....

I cannot believe that so many Canadians actually answer these s**t calls ... for very few $$$ a month
you can have a call dispaly and a very very cheap answering machine .....
I have both >>>>>I never I repeat NEVER answer calls I do not recognise ..... and if the call is important
they will leave a message that I can screen later .... that simple !!!!
Also if you have call display you can place the phone that keeps calling on a blocked list ....
atikameg 2012-05-07 18:08:13 Unknown
Rec'd that call today, but didn't recognise the # so left it to the answering machine. No message.
I have gotten rid of a couple of Tmarketers.
They have these nifty little air horns "Marine/Sport" at sports stores Get them talking then put the thing to the phone and give it a slight tap
That sets them buzzing. I suppose counseling something like that is a no no.
But it seems all is fair in this game.
Will try pressing the ### when they call again.

this is the info i got from them when i did a search:
A. Opekar

If they keep harassing you, call the Hamilton police and report them. If that doesn't work, mail them a
bag of dogshit to their address.

I've had multiple calls from this number. How can I get them to stop?
Jim 2012-05-06 00:05:43 Telemarketer
Received one of these calls from some so & so. He kept pushing to get more credit card information and it was apparent that he had much background information already, such as address, name, phone #. He was trying to get the security code from the back of the card.
I strung him along and listened to his pitch for a lower interest rate on all my credit cards. Funny how he could not explain how the credit card companies would pay or absorb the difference.
He was royally PO.'d when I said I didn't carry any balances and paid everything off at the end of month.
He said "Why are you wasting my time, you F'ng bi***!!" . He then hung up. I doubt if he will call again.
To waste their time seems a viable tactic.

You got that right - seems like everything in this world is upside down and people seem to think it`s all right. Go Figure? Maybe, just maybe a shift will happen to change everything back again.
BWM 2012-05-05 19:21:25 Unknown
Dont forget to go to the Do Not Call site and report the number!
Donna 2012-05-05 18:56:26 Unknown
They can be stopped. You have to register on the national do not call list. Trace the call using *(star)57. Do this 5 times, then report them to the national do not call list. I believe that it's a $20,000.00 dollar fine. The CRTC investigates it, and I think the CRTC gets the cash, but if they can stop them, it's worth it.

Probably a scammer from Hamilton Ontario, lol.

Here is what I put on my answering machine outgoing message.....
"You have reached #######(my number) If your name does not appear on my call display by reason of a blocked call, 800, or out of province number, and you feel I will wish to speak to you, please stay on the line and identify yourself after the beep. For all others, if I am unable to answer at this time, please leave a message and I will return your call as soon as possible."
Works great my friends understand, and of course these kinds of A-holes don't leave a name, but they haven't bothered me because I did not answer.
