The call came in. I didn't recognize the number so I let the answering machine take care of it. They didn't leave a message. Life is good.

please stop calling I have very limited minutes and you are a PIA I am reporting this number

Call just came through. I answered it. Nothing but dead silence, no automated operator, no live operator, nothing! I called the number back and this is what was said, "Hello and thank you for calling. If you would like to be placed on a do not call list for the number that just called you, please press 1 now." Needless to say, I waited several minutes in the event they would transfer me to a live operator, but no such luck!
They call several times a day, at ALL hours in the day, and need to stop. I did NOT (and will NOT) press 1 to be placed on a do not call list as I've heard that compounds the problem.
By the way, whomever said 301 is a Delaware area code and you know because you live there...just one word for you....SERIOUSLY? 302 is DE, 301 is MD!

They do not give you an option to be removed from their call list when they robo call. You DO have to call back and press one to be removed. I don't usually do this since it alerts them that it is a good number, but since another writer said it worked, I gave it a try.

They keep calling. Numerous times a day. I just pressed 0 and asked them which company they were with and they hung up. So obviously a scam.

I put these types of calls on my call block list. That way my phone does not ring when these idiots call.

I was frustrated getting these numerous calls for days so after seeing another post, I called back and pressed 1 to be added to their do not call list. After a couple of days the calls did stop so I wanted to follow-up to say it works to stop these calls!

I have received between 10 and 20 calls from these scammers. Same message about reducing power bill and press 0 to speak with someone.. I never do that, because that just verifies my number as a live person.
Since they are scammers, even if they stop calling, they will just sell my number to other scammer call lists.
I called my power company to ask them what they knew about the caller, and they said if I gave the scammer my account number, they could switch my service to anyone they like. Including one with higher rates.
Don't give them anything..
If you don't care about verifing your number, you can mess with them...
====
Tell them you get free power from LGM on their special "Don't ask where it comes from. It's a secret." policy..
All I know is there is a wierd humming sound and a strange lights coming from under the chicken coupe, but you never heard me say that... Don't tell anyone that I have a 47 megawatt chicken coupe..with mutant chickens. I don't want to mess up a good thing.

If he was not actually selling you anything or using a fake survey to qualify you as a potential sales lead then the Do Not Call list does not apply. Also, until he does something criminal that the local police have jurisdiction over, they will just tell you to ignore the calls.

Got a call from 301-965-7863. 301 Is an area code in MD for land lines. Male had an Asian Indian accent & said he was doing research. Told him I was on the national do not call list, which I am, & to take my number off whatever list he had or I would call the police. I then hung up.
| Donna 2013-12-06 16:46:43 Unknown |

Got a call from 301-965-7863. They said to press zero to speak to a rep. I pressed 0 and they said to have your electric bill in hand. When an 'asian indian accent" lady answered, she wanted to know if I had my electric bill and said she was going to give savings on it. She wanted my phone number in case we got disconnected, so she could call me back. She did NOT give name of the company calling. I had to ask her for it. She said the company name was POWER CHOICE. I asked her for the company number so I could call her back if I got disconnected. She hesitated and then said there wasn't one, because it was a "call center". I looked up the name on the internet as she was talking, and the company did not come up. I asked her for the company address. She said, "we are located in Delaware, ma'me" I asked her for the exact company address and explained that I wanted to verify if the company was legitimate. She hesitated again, and then said "I cannot provide that, ma'me... it's because of security reasons." She then asked if I wanted to withdraw from being offered savings on the electric bill, but as I hesitated to answer, she hung up.
