I believe I was deceived by the same scam. I had problem with my computer locking up and a message came up on the screen to call 1-877-771-5244 for help. I did out of desperation and stupidity. The recipient identified himself as James, he had a strong accent but I don't know from where. He represented himself to be from Microsoft Security Essentials. He scanned my computer and found 5200+ viruses and numerous other problems. He said it was a free service unless the situation required installation of additional software. An hour later he asked if I wanted the 1, 2 or 3 year contract service. I was dumb enough to agree to a 3 year contract, with weekly computer scans and virus protection, for $500. After the communications I called Microsoft and was told that "Microsoft solution Essentials" is legitimate, but it was a free service and there were no three year, $550 contracts. The company that billed my credit card was "NTS Global Services". I am in the process of disputing the credit card payment.

I work for Microsoft and can certainly confirm that this is not an official Microsoft call. This company is trying to scare people into install a virus checker, one the potentially also has a virus. Please make sure that you do not follow these persons steps and please put the phone down.

Well, I am the idiot here.  back in June 2012 I received the call just as the others had about virus trojan on my computer.  having had so many problems with my new computer I believed I had a virus as they showed me by remoting all the "red" viruses.  They would clean it all up and speed up my computer but I would need to pay $180 for 2 years of Microsoft Support.  I paid through WINTECH - Pay Pal.  It took some time to clean it up and my computer has been running great. Today I went to make an online order for something and I got a webpage alert - I couldn't go any further so I contacted my bank to see if I had a lock on my credit card.  There wasn't anything locking my card so I called Live Support and after 15 minutes I found out that I am not registered with Microsoft.  So I was scammed $180 for something I can't get help with.  I too had the 302-721-5254 phone number and the name of Tom Moody.  Email Support@Microsoftsupportusa.com   Anybody have any ideas now of what I can do?

I also received a call from "Kevin" and another man,  with accents, claiming to represent Micro Global Solutions.  These hustlers claimed that the universal Microsoft server (no such thing!) had notified them that my computer had been infected with spyware and viruses. No surprise, they wanted money. I asked for a call-back number and "Kevin" told me he could be reached at 206-925-3939.  Research indicates that this number is also being used for the same scam.

I posted a previous statement today.  I have subsequently discovered in conversation with Paypal identified as the recipient of my credit card payment that the company -- Matrix Global Information Technology Services -- is a fradulent company.  It has been associated as of today with the following telephone numbers -- 1-302-721-5254, 1-209-813-2700, 1-206-925-3939, 1-646-564-5699, and website http:matrixglobal.net/   I further contacted my credit card company that recorded the Paypal charge on March 15 this year associated with my presumed purchase of the company's anti-viral computer services offered to me, and detailed to their dispute department the reason I desired to receive my money back.  After a lengthy conversation with me during which they received details shared above plus additional information, and following internal consultation at the credit card company, my expenditure was reimbursed in full to my account.  The Credit Card company has proceeded further to pursue additional information about previous and ongoing fradulent activity associated with the individuals associated with this company.  Of course, I had to cancel my credit card and request a new reissue of the card.  Again, I am grateful for the information provided in this website for informing me of these circumstances.

Today, October 17th, I have had multiple phone call exchanges with 3 individuals associated with what they call Matrix Global Inormation Technology -- they say the are a Microsoft security support company.  Unfortunately, on March 15 of this year I responded to a service call from one of their associates and with their offer I purchased an anti-virus service contract for "virus protection" that they said would cost me $249.95 for 5 yrs of service.  (The charge subsequently showed up on my major credit card which I had used to purchase the contract.)  The agent assigned to be my personal provider at that time was Peter Jones.  He could be reached at 302-721-5254.  Today the company's followup call was from another Matrix Global Information agent, "David," who said my computer was again "infected' because it was showing up as such on the Microsoft server and he was alerted to call me.  This time I was not as foolish as before and suspected they were attempting to ask for more money to fix the presumed present problem or intended to ask me to pay to enhance the previously purchased contract.  I spoke first with a "Supervisor John Cannery" (he sounded as did each individual I have spoken with associated with the company as if he has an East Indian accent -- on my initial occasion the person was female, again, with an East Asian accent).  Because John and I were disconnected, John called me back in about 10 mins -- his number that showed on my phone was 206-925-3939.  A Seattle prefix.  Becauise of my suspicions and confrontational conversation, he ultimately passed me along to "Kevin" who identified himself as the company's "Manager."  Again, as I had told John,  I told Kevin I wanted my money back because I discovered online that his "company" was a scam and he had fleeced me of nearly $250 as I'm sure he had fleeced others.  (I had gone to http://matrixglobal.net as John instructed me in order to "verify" his company's legitimate website.  However, the website has no accurate contact information, etc.)  Following a relatively short and very acrimonious set of exchanges with Kevin, I repeated to him I wanted my money back and if not I will do everything I can to expose, along with others, what his scam is about.  An initial tip off of something suspicious was that an agent, "David," first called me and passed me along to John Cannery, his supervisor.  When I asked John for David's number John gave me 209-813-2700 as John's number.  I called that number on my cell while speaking to John on my home line and received word that that particular number for David that John had just given me had been disconnected.  I appreciate other postings on this site very much, and I too am calling Microsoft support to clean up the mess I have created by dealing with these scam artists.  And I will continue to utilize my network and other sources to try and prevent others from experiencing similarunfortunate and exploitive circumstances.

I was called by Peter Jones who also reported that according to Microsoft Tech support that my PC was infected. I should have known better but I let them have access to my computer (big mistake). They offered Microsoft Security Essentials for 5 years on 3 PC for $500. Had to eventually call the real Microsoft Tech support who cleaned everything up

i got this call today, Jack Thompson. He said he was with Microsoft and i had sent in an error report, I said I hadn't. He said it automatically sends it every time and i have viruses on my computer and he would tell me how to fix it. He was very pushy. He told me he had all of my information but due to security he could not give it to me. I told him i already knew my name, it was he who didn't. After an 8min conversation he finally gave me his number, 302-721-5254.

Prank Call
Received 4  calls from "101619" on my cel phone,I answered each and someone with a very heavy Indian accent tells me he's a Microsoft Tech and found a vius in my system.  Each time I lied to him and said in this part of Florida we have no power!!! No way can I start m computers. I asked him if he has a land line that I can call when power is restored.  he replied yes and gave me this number (302) 721-5254,  Then he wanted to know how come he has power and is also in America!  My question is how do they get away with this?  Where is the fraud department in Delaware or anywhere in the US?  Where is there an official site that this can be reported to???

I got this call today. I listened for a while and then at the end they were trying to tell me that Microsoft only has the true internet security that works 100% of the time where the others don't. They tried to sell me a virus protection plan, $150 for 2 yrs, $200 for 3 yrs and $250 for 5 yrs. I told them they were out of their mind and hung up.

I received the same call and was also weary of the Indian Accent, so I questioned the caller and ask for a manager and a call back number which I was given as this number.  I told them we had a bad connection and they tried calling me back but I did not answer as I was looking into this number.  Thanks for all the comments as I run an antivirus software on my computer all the time and did not have problems.

Got a call from Peter Joseph(I could  not get the right name). I got this call on my cell phone , the number listed was "1-016-19". There was a lot of background noise during the conversation. the caller sounded like an Indian. I asked him how he got my cell number, he stated that I had recently bought a product from microsoft which requires a contact number and so on and so forth. In fact, I did not purchase any products from microsoft at all. In fact the opening question," our microsft server detected multiple error messages sent from your computer indicating that your computer had slowed down. Do you agree that your computer had slow speed? is that correct" i asked him why he was interested in my computer's viruses, he said that the microsoft server detected a lot of error messages sent from my computer and he was calling in response to that. He was repeatedly asking me to open my computer and he would tell the exact locations of the viruses that needed to be cleaned. I told him I not worried about that the viruses on m y computer. He was insisting that the viruses were slowing my computer, but I never felt it was the case. I felt suspicious about this call and asked him to give a call back number and asked about his office location. he said denver/delaware?, and gave is name as above. I googled this number with microsoft tech support number and landed on this page. I believe this a fraud. as I never recevied such time of excellent cusstome support for any "software Giant companies" bottom line why they should be so worried about the viruses  on my computer. All the best next time to you Mr. Peter Joseph!!

I was called several days by these hard to understand people telling me they were microsoft and my computer was in the shop so I didn't talk to them when I got my puter back they said they were receiving error reports while I didn't have my puter so well I didn't know if maybe the person fixing it had it online ...so at first I believed they were microsoft helping me ...then they tried to show me something but I couldn't do it so they had me use team viewer and I watched and then they were acting  so over dramatic and said I needed some expensive antivirus that I said I didn't believe that they were microsoft and when I tried to cut off the team viewer some exe file popped on my puter so I hurried to disconnect it... I am not sure but they could have put something on my puter  so now I have to take my puter back to someone that can check that ...I HATE SCAMMERS!!!

My husband got a call from a person with heavy middle eastern accent who called himself Deter Jones and said he was with Microsoft Tech Support. Said our computer was seriously infected.  When pushed, he said it was the computer at our home that was currently on.  We only have one and it was NOT on.  Red flag!  He left the call back number of 302-721-5254.  Am not calling him back thanks to checking this out on this site.

I just received a call on my cell phone from this phone number,   it showed up as # 9 on my phone .  He said that he was from " Micro Soft Tech Support " and that they were receiving error messages.   Told me to log on and they would walk me through to clear it .     I told him that we would call him back.   I called back and he answered " Micro Soft Tech Support "  but I had our IT people check it out first, and they found out that this was all a SCAM !    he identified himself as David Jones, and yes,  he had a thick Indian accent.

I have got calls from this same place twice in the past 2 days. It comes up as 7 on the caller ID and is an indian on the other end. I asked for a ticket number for this and he gave me a phone # of 302-721-5254 and a name of Jack Thompson to contact. Again I asked for a ticket # and he started to dance around. At that time I typed the phone number he had given me in the search bar and I would up here while I still had him on the phone. I read him word for word what I saw in the post about this then told him to remove my # and to not call again.

A gentleman, Mr. Thompson,  with a very distinctive accent called and stated he was from Microsoft.  He asked me if I was having computer problems.  I said "No"  and he said that Microsoft had received a report from me and them researching found out I had a very serious virus.  I told him I wasn't home and would call when I was at my computer.  He called again 1 hr. later and I told him I still wasn't home.

I wanted to google the number before I returned the call and I'm glad I did.

I just got a call from an Indian accent man who said his name was John Howell (very typical Indian name, right?). I thought it was a scam, so I told him I would call him back. He gave me 302-721-5254 and said he was in Wilmington, Delaware. Then I searched the phone # and confirmed my suspicions. It's good to have this site.

Got two calls from (302)721-5254, the person on the line stated he's from Microsoft technical support.
My mom's number was the first he dialed, and she did have some trouble with the later version of MS Office - but on her Mac! As soon as he heard it he hung up.
Called my number on an hour or so, the caller ID showed blocked so I asked where should I call him back, and he gave me the above mentioned #.
Both times he tried to sound as he works for Microsoft, but had hard time understanding regular English. The accent was Indian for sure.
Scam, total scam.

My husband received a call on his cell phone from someone saying they were John Howell from Microsoft Technical Dept telling him that his home computer had a virus.  My husband told him he didn't know anything about the computer and he would have to call back and speak to his wife.  I was away on business when my husband told me about the call and I let him know that I saw something on the news about a scam going around regarding someone calling saying they were with Microsoft.  The man called back on the day he was supposed to and my husband told him he was not interested.  The man attempted to tell my husband that he is responsible for any damage that the virus caused.  The funny thing is that we did discover that we had a virus on our computer and had the Tech Support plan we pay monthly for take care of it for us.
