I received a call from this number today.  It was my advisor from Ashford University.  This call was expected, but I didn't recognize the number, which is why I ended up on this page.  It is not a telemarketer.

First they sent a "certified" letter to my address ti.an inmate,next day they call my number and ask fot that unmate! Wtf?
I dont know the inmate nor i have business with them.

After not checking it for about a month, I checked my Google Voice number.  Found that they called me with a robocaller, calling me "Christian" and saying that they were Josie, which was (unintelligible)'s counselor.  They wanted to know if I wanted to go to school online, and then gave me the phone number 866-974-5700 extension 6887 to call so that we can speak and go over all of our options together.

Given that I have an FCC license, that I know robocalling is illegal, that I am on the Do Not Call list with my google voice number (it is tied to my house number so it still applies), and that we do not have a business history so this call was completely illegal, I should have some fun scaring the piss out of them right now.  Please wait a moment while I call them and screw with their heads.

So I just got off the phone.  Josie (real name Josephine) was not available.  However, I spoke to RANDOM TELEMARKETER GUY, letting him know that I wasn't really thinking about college at all (I have a Ph.D. but did not tell him so).  I was kind of bewildered as to why they had called because we have no "established business relationship" and that I am on the National Do Not Call list.  He said yeah, it was kind of funny, that's odd.  Then I let him know my name and my FCC license number and let him know that these types of telemarketer calls are not exempt from the DNC, that cold calling with a robocaller is illegal at all times in the US when not exempted under DNC calls, and that I'm not terribly concerned with having my number removed from their list because a further call results in an immediate fine per TCPA1991 of up to 11,000 bucks which I would happily assist in creating.

He began to beg off saying that it sounds like a couple of calls had happened that should not have, and I informed him that there are thousands of cold call robocaller reports including many with DNC components being reported on the net.  It's not "some".  It's "thousands".

He shot off an immediate internal email, contacted his supervisor, and said... well, thanks for calling.  He was pretty shook up.

Got a text from them today that said:

Yeah, like I'm gonna follow a link from someone I don't know.

I answered after the literally the 20th call and told them I wasnt interested. The admission counselor as he calls himself says...interested in what. i replied all you need to know is Im not interested. He replies back and says well  im confused. I said well good then hung up. I have never requested info for Ashford university.

Received a phone call while at work and did not answer it since I did not recognize the number.  After doing some research on-line to see whose number this belongs to, I now know who it was.  The alarming fact is that the caller did not leave a message which tells me the call was important enough to do so,  How unprofessional is that especially when it's a University!  This raises a red flag for me as to how this school operates.  Perhaps they need to look into some phone etiquette classes for themselves.

Please stop calling. I receive about 6 calls a day from this number.

Ashford University. Do not even look at thier website for information, I did several months ago and still I get at least 10 calls a day from these people. I have asked them to remove my number lassxt month however 4 weeks later they are still calling, I called again today and was advised it takes 48 hours to be removed from the solicitation list. WOW!! BEWARE!! Please report these people.

I just received a call from this number last night. It rung once. Before that i was getting ashford calls regularly nd before that i had received a call nd the lady was asking me alot of questions. Thing is, she had all my info =\

I got a call from my Admissions Advisor at Ashford University.  Just wanting to make sure I wasn't running into any problems with my classes.  Very friendly.  A bit of a fast talker, but very nice.

I have been recieving calls from this number quite a bit. No one speaks so I do not know who is calling. I want this to stop, it is annoying.

Ashford University.  I made the "mistake" of signing up for an online scholarship which turned out to be a scam.  Now I have several of these for profit colleges calling me frequently.  I don't know how to get it to stop.

I had to block this number because they called me so many times. It was 15 times one day.

They called my Google Voice #... a number I have only given out to a couple places probably 2 years ago.

The transcript that Google Voice forwarded to my phone said it was "Mike from Ashford University"  and his number is 800-798-0584 extension 9231 .   Do what you will with that info

I know where they got my number from but what I don't get is I've answered the phone and told them TWICE I already enrolled in the community college in my area after i asked for informaion and yet for some reason they think that i still want to go to their school? Ridiculous

Every time these people call me, they ask if I am interested in going to school within the next three months, I say no and theny hang up on me. No less than 5 minutes later the same number, different person does the same thing..... ANNOYING!

Beware applying for jobs online. If you even hint remotely you would like to further your education they all jump on the band wagon. This is a number that continues to cl me too and that is why!

they keep calling and calling and I never requested info from them at all....  and then one of my friends picked up my phone and told them they didn't know who I was because she thought it was my ex being a a** and who ever called got a smart with my friend.... even though she was the one who keeps calling even though I've told them to stop.

f*** these guys im just going to f*** with them, They have called for a week straight about 15 times the b*****ds, they called me at 8 this morning and again at 8:30!!!!  when all I wanted was to talk to someone once and get a pamphlet.

File  a complaint with your   States Attorney general .  I have cause 3-4 calls a day is  to many and there websites ask you to fill out a form and then AGREE to there tos,etc.  They needed my names#,dOB,etc REQUIRED.   i said no.  so  i just filled a complaint..   Went  to there Facebook page as well to say to stop call me.
