Shows up on caller ID as "Metro News Serv" - Has been calling my house 5-6 times per day for the past few weeks, so I finally got annoyed and picked up the phone. The woman said (right away) that she was from Charter Communications. I asked her why the caller ID says Metro News Services and she said that it was a branch within Charter. I asked her why they were calling and she said that they were returning a request for information on starting up service regarding internet, phone, and cable. I laughed at her and told her she didn't know what the hell she was talking about... I am currently a charter customer and spend about $220 a month on a premium bundle. This is obviously a scam. I don't know if they are trying to get credit card numbers or other personal information (I asked to be put on a DNC list and hung up) - but this is definitely not legit. FYI - woman said it could take 30 days for them to stop calling... THIRTY DAYS! Ugh!

This company calls up to 10 times a day just to dail my number. I have ask them to stop with no results.

Don't hate? I have a job to do too and getting calls like this is a pain. If you are defending the company you are working for, why don't you tell them about this thread SO if they are a good company they can figure out a better way to get you and your co-workers connected to customers. Tell than playa - haters going to hate on this thread!!

We've had the same calls at my work. I pick up no answer. I call no anwer but get voicemail, I have left several messages to stop calling. They stopped for awhile but have recently picked back up to 2-3 times a day.
These folks are used by our local newpaper here in Colorado Springs, The Gazette. I emailed The Gazette at 'customercare@gazette.com' and received this message back from a Gazette customer rep "Metro News is one of our contractors who does outbound calling for us. I will request to get your number removed right away."
So, if you are getting calls from Metro News Service (303-302-7929) email the Gazette or your local paper to have your number unlisted.
Keeping my fingers this stops the calls forever!!

I keep getting from Metro News Serv 303.302.7929, I don't answer because, I'm not interested in what ever the caller is trying to do. I want to stop calls from the number. What are my options. I'm not sure that putting my phone number on the "don't call" list will really do anything. I think that by putting your number on that Federal list of don not call, only gives the companies the impetus to make the calls, because now they have a number to call.

They are not only annoying but also extremely rude by repeating every word say to them every time I receive a call from them trying to get me into a newspaper subscription.

I am getting 5-8 calls a day no one answers and there is neveer a message left.

Since I cancelled my local newspaper subscription I keep getting calls from them....over and over...all days and times. I don't answer it anymore but the one time I did I told them I don't want to renew and to never call me again...yeah, that worked out real well.

They said they were Cox Communications, which happens to be my cable and ISP server. They said I needed their telephone service, which I don't. I also do not think it is the same Cox that I am already getting service from.

We just got a new number due to moving and lo and behold we get at least 3-4 calls EACH DAY from Metro News (we dont know who they are) but there is no one EVER on the other end of the line - it just disconnects

THANKS....just called the 800# and Patty said it would take 24-48 hrs to stop this ANNOYING repeated calling my house. Interesting, as it was automated when I answered and said it was COX calling, but Metro News Serv showed up on my caller ID. Really SUCKS because I have a similar situation on my cell phone with 2 (same #s EVERY DAY) and calling multiple times. There is no such thing as privacy any more!!!!

I too have been getting calls daily for about a week. I do not answer if I do not know the caller. They leave no message, and the one time I did get to the phone on time to get it, they heard my 'hello' and hung up. I have put my name on their 'do not call' list at 800-950-8475. They "believe" the calls are on the behalf of Cox Communications.

I wish they would stop calling! I do not pick up the phone because I'm tired of telemarketers, etc. My time is valuable to me. Why can't a company stop calling after 20 times of being ignored!!! There should be a law against this invasion. I pay for my phone, and I do not want to go through this type of situation.
Does anyone know how to STOP the calls????

I work for Metro news ... all i gotta say is stop hating its not our fault our job bothers youwe are not allowed to leave a message and it takes a while for the computer to connect us so thats the silence or hang up u think you hear. Maybe if ppl were nicer to us than we would be nicer back. Oh and btw the donotcall list... ya that ish dont exist everybody tells me that they're on it... hope u didnt pay for it
