I guess I should have know better. I had these calls from they many times. But I lost my job and in a very bad way. I listened to them and didn't listen to the little voice saying " Don't it. It will bite you hard." I can't think about what's going to happen now. How can people prey on someone that is on the edge of Deep crap. I lived in New Orleans and still do during Hurricane Katrina and That by far was the worst thing to happen to me. I needed help so bad and now I see it's just going to hurt more. Don't do things over the phone, go see a company in person for help. I don't know what to do now.

This note is for the message board owner:

How about looking at the ip addresses the "fake" posters are using...I'd bet they are all from a similar address range.   Hopefully they have a static ip address and we can zero in on their location.

This is from a company called ELH Consulting.  The phone numbers coming from anywhere is simple phone DID spoofing.  And the owner?  Eric Lynn Hall, Ponder Texas is the register owner of ELH Consulting LLC, registered in texas, operating out of a PO and empty office in Tempe Az.

Gee I wish I lived in Ponder.   Anybody out there know anybody living out that way?  I believe a little chat w/Eric is in order.

They're still using the same script! Thanks, Guess, for providing it word-for-word.
For real debt solutions, there are many non-profit organizations that charge a minimal fee ($25 for Debt Relief Services, don't know exactly what others charge--refunded when you take their free financial education class) and a small ($30-50) monthly fee. DRS negotiated with one credit card company and got my interest changed from 16% to 3%. I even got a pleasant letter from the accounts manager at the c.c. company, thanking me for taking action to reduce my debt. That was a nice surprise!

Just received a 2nd call after 1st time told them not interested.  Told them to put me on DO NOT CALL LIST.  They also stated a 1 time $995.00 fee.  Seems they negotiate with your credit cards to lower if they do there is no guarantee of that happening

Recived 2 calls from 916-993-5362 West Sacramento, CA. trying to sell me Proactive Planning Solutions  for $495 charged to my credit card. Going to get all my interest rates cut in half and save me big money. First call to qualify and second to sell and get that credit card number. WhenI started repeating that I was not giving a credit card number over the phone until I checked out the company, the caller suddenly had phone problem and I was cutting out. Did not call back.

(Phone # 877-898-0109) All I needed was to give him my credit card number. Whoes pocket did he think it was coming out of? When I refused to give him the number he threatend me. Said he would do all he could to make certain I was locked ino the higher rates forever. It is a scam.

I would like more info on the scammer who took $6000.  I am working on a case and I wonder if it is the same as mine.  Yes, they do identify themselves with fake names and the company does the same business under a new name.  It makes them hard to track.  How can I contact you?

I received a call from Jerimiah of Proactive Planning Solutions.  However the caller ID showed the number as 630-297-4659   Downers Grove IL.  When I asked him where he was - he said Arizona.

By the way the number on my caller ID was out of service.

I asked him if he was with eastside Financial - he said they are affiliated.   that's the firm that was offering to help me until recently - also for the"no money out of pocket" cost of $995.

I saw ssome not so good reports on Eastside - guess that's why they are now Proactive Planning

So you signed some "contract" that permitted them to SCAM you?

No scheme that requires you to pay an UPFRONT FEE for "lowering interest rates" or "fixing your credit" is legit. NONE. NOT ONE. NO EXCEPTIONS. EVER.

Think about it ... these scammers are making fake posts on this site all the time because we're making it harder for them to STEAL money over the phone. What does that tell you?????

Once you sign up, as in verbally or in writing, you are bound by contract to allow them to try everything in their protocol to save you $2500 over some period of time.  If you do not comply with their requests, you do not get your refund.  Do your research before you commit to anything.  ... And there is no apr reduction deal with a timeline...that's b.s.  Believe me...I made the expensive mistake.

I signed up for this service about a month and a half ago, I had to fill out my paperwork and list my accounts then they called me once they got the paperwork. They called all 13 of my lenders to lower the rates, there were 2 that wouldnt lower them, but the other 11 did. The 2 that didn't go down they negotiated with my Chase company and got them to accept a balance transfer of those debts for a rate of 3.9% til paid off. I know I had gotten calls before, not sure how many of these companies are out there, maybe some of them are scams. I was charged a fee for sure, but obviously for me it was totally worth it. I think my total savings after the balance transfer was completed was over $8600 in interest. I checked them out on the BBB and any complaints they have had have been resolved so I figured that was a plus. Hope this helps

I got contacted by proative planning solutions to lower my credit care rates because I pay my bills on time.  I got a gut feeling it was a scam.  they wanted 995.00 on a credit card.  I did not call them back.
My daughter said it wasa scam.

Yes Steve Valdez has blocked all incoming calls to his cell. This organization preys on desperate individuals. These organizations seem to flourish during tough economic times. Lower interest rates are available to anyone willing to look for them. There is no need to pay for these services. I ended up eating the rather substantial enrollment fee as they claimed the period to dispute it had expired. STEER CLEAR OF THESE CROOKS !!!!!!!!!!

What is the real deal?  I checked with the BBB and this business has been around for 6+ years.  They have a C rating - which is not great, but it's not terrible either.  Are they STILL able to get away with a scam?  Why haven't they been sued or put out of business if they aren't making good on the services they offer?  Can they save me money?  Is it worth my time to be speaking with these guys?
