Hi, folks.  It's July of 2012 and I just discovered this site. I'm the owner of 310-409-6050. Apparently in 2008 and 2011 my number was hijacked by a telemarketer with some scam.  Please know that these calls did not originate from me. same here, called and no message. who are they? and what they want?

I just got a call from them, and they said something about my number had been selected and press 1 for my promotional prize.

Same here: promo call about a free prize.
Area code is Santa Monica CA

I called back and said noone available to take my call then put me through all music and holding my line up.
There is no such things like Free prizes.. all scam.

They called me and I offered me a prize too!  I accepted it!  I just gave them my credit card with my security code on the back and my social security number.....j/k

They called my number while I was working so I didn't answer but it was so random, probly scams!

when I answered I got a recording saying "your number was selected, press one for details on your prise" ... I pressed one (out of curiosity) and it said "your call is being transfered" then someone picked up and said "hi you've been selected to win a trip, would you like to hear about your trip to cancun"... I said no and hung up.

got two calls from this number, did not pick up....hope it will stop!

Got a text message today from them saying call 888-460-8068 to claim my $250 gift card. Wondering if anyone else has got this message.
I haven't called.

I got the same message today. I think it's a scam. I have not signed up for anything and last time I called back, it was nothing

I got the same text..It says "Thank you for visiting our site call 8884608068 to claim your $250.00 gift card! Reply STOP to opt out.Thank you for your interest.Reply STOP for DNC."  I dont remember Visiting anysites for anything like this or signing up for anything like this...I did send for a package from everest institute for more information and after i did that they started calling non stop from two different numbers and now i get this weird text.. I think its tied to them somehow... or maybe just a scam... I haven't called back...

Ok, s i just called..a guy picked up and asked if i was calling to claim my $250.00 gift card and i said  im calling but i want to know what site you're talking about and how you got my number.. he said some weird name and i said no i don't remember visiting that site and he said ok and hung up.... isn't that so sweet...i think its a scam...

I got a call this morning from this number 310-409-4056 and picked up and say hello but no response. Actually, they called my phone so many time already.  is there anyway we can find out who this call is?

I got the same call last night.  My cell phone number is supposed to be on the do-not-call list.  This is another example of abuse of this list.

I just got this call on my work phone so it's not just limited to cell phones.  Same message 'Your phone number has been selected to win a prize, press 1 now to claim'.  I didn't press 1!
Also...my number is NOT currently registered on the DNCL.

Fat chance of any fine, CRTC has sold your number from the DNC list and since its from out of country they will not prosecute.

Government thinks its an opt-out system but it turns out to be an opt-in system - register your number and it's sold to the telemarketers.

I got a call from this one and i have one that i keep getting that tells my my warranty on my vehicle is almost up show the hell do we get theese jerks to stop calling our cels this costs us some frigging money

Me too! I looked it up, saw it was from LA! What a Joke! I was at work and decided to ignore...Funny thing is I think I know ppl in LA! What if I actually picked up! ppl need to find somthing better to do with their time!

this is the frist time Ive seen that number and they have called me about 4 times 2day ... didnt pick up tho ....

I got the call and so did my coworker. With about ten minutes. I actually think they are building a phone list - any number that does not connect to a phone gets dumped (so it doesnt matter if you answer it or not) . Any press one to find out what happens ?

same. didn't answer, looked up 310 turned out to california. so i looked up the number and that brought me here... interesting.

Recorded message with a Russian/Slavic accent claiming that my number was chosen as a prize winner. "Press 1 to claim your prize". As if I would do that...

Another victim here. Telemarketing scam that's calling cell phones...Register your number with the national (Cdn) Do-not-call list here:

I just recieved the same call 310-409-4056, missed the call, and google'd the number.
i dont know how they would have got my cell. Only thing i can think of is that I am selling stuff online, on a site called UsedOttawa. Anyone else selling things online listing a phone number? Maybe they are getting the numbers there.
