They called and didn't leave a message.  Not sure who they are.

I have received calls from this nunber many times the past couple of weeks.  When I inform them that the person they are calling for is not a resident there to please stop calling, the agent was very bitchy.  She told me she would keep calling until she got who she was calling for.  Last night she called four times within an hour from two different numbers.  I finally got tired of yelling at her, hung up, called one number and asked to speak to a supervisor.  When the supervisor "Jenny Jones" got on the phone I informed her I would report her to the Federal Trade Commission and file a cease and desist letter.  They are subjected to a fine from the federal trade commision for calling after you ask them to stop.  You can file suit if they insit on harrassing you with call.  Look up Cease and Desist letters online.  There are some you can just print off.  I read the fine for the state of mi is $1,000 to the company.

This automate calling is several times at day,is to the point.... we take the ringer off; this people never STOP calling. The person they look for does not live here, and we don't know how is this person calling all of the time!!!!!

Same thing started happening to me last week.  The phone rings to an automated program once you say something.  Woman (Stacey) was extremely rude, when I asked what company she worked for, she asked me what company I worked for.  Wouldn't let me talk to her supervisor.  The person she was looking for does not live here and I have no idea who she is.  Called Saturday morning, let me know she would not stop.  Not sure what I can do.

Sallie Mae

yeah it's sallie mae, I do owe money but I put in for a forbarence and they still call to get money, obviously if I put in for a forbarence this means I don't have the money....damn shame that they call anybody even if it was for a reference for a student loan not a co signer,....

Have received numerous calls from this number, despite telling them not to call back and that they are (obviously) in violation of WI state law, national FCC law, etc.  The rep there claimed she is with Sallie Mae.  I had a (now ex, heh) friend list me as a reference on her loan with them years ago - not a co-signer, just a reference (i.e., she gave them my phone number and address) - without my permission.  My ex-friend defaulted on her loan, and this company has been harassing me ever since, trying to get me to make her call them, because she won't return their calls to her.  This company is insidious, they basically have ignored any requests from me to remove my phone number from my ex-friend's account, to stop contacting me, etc.  I have already started a complaint file against them with the FCC, and come Monday morning (tomorrow :), I am calling my state senator's office to get their assistance as well.  So anyway, beware - once they have your number, they will not stop calling you (and will switch numbers from time to time, etc., probably to get around anyone who might try per-number blocking).  In my case, at least, I know why they're targeting me.  But for those of you who haven't a clue, some a-hole probably made up a fake name and number on their Sallie Mae application under references, and you just happened to have the bad luck of having that phone number for real.

I believe this is a collection agency... I was reciving several calls from them, and wouldn't answer because I didn't reconize the phone number... Upon calling back to find out whom it was, I was connected with a Sallie Mae agent......

Yeah they called me a million times and I believe there is another number coming from then as well 866-563-9998. I have no idea who these people are and they are starting to piss me off calling at 8:30 in the morning. I am about to pick up and scream at whoever is calling me.

They called around 300pm. I didnt answer because i didnt recognise the number. They did not leave a message

called my work early in the morning, when i answered there was a recording asking me to please hold, someone would be with me shortly.  i stayed on the line so that i could tell them to remove my # and the phone just hung up.

Repeatedly calling without leaving messages (7 times yesterday).  I do not know this number, so I did not answer it.  This is really pissing me off - I have no option on my phone to block this number.

Called my cell phone and asked for someone that I didn't know.

Non stop pressure from these numbers to provide personal information and they will call back if I hang up on them. This time, the first number called once, the second called twice and the third called twice...back to back.
