Thank you so much Kevin. I have contacted him to be removed. I hate when companies can bypass the National do not call registry.

NORC is a legitimate agency that is contracted by the CDC to conduct this study. This study helps protect children against potentially dangerous childhood diseases. This study is called NIS (national immunization Survey) this study is one of many that Norc is contracted by the CDC to conduct. If you are suspicious about this study of NORC go to www.cdc.gov/nis and do some research before counting it out as being a scam. People are always complaining about what the government does not do but when its time to help out every one is still complaining. No one is trying to coerce you did get vaccinations the CDC just uses this info to understand why many children are not getting there recommended vaccinations. All circumstances are different.

This number has called me about 4 times this month.  What makes me angry now is that I have asked a live person...very nicely, too...to please stop calling because I was NOT interested in anything they had to say.  But that didn't help...they still call.  To me, that's just plain chicken s***!!!  So I'm reporting all the calls to the Do Not Call registry...if that helps at all.  I'm really sick of the calls now!  But it's nice to see that I'm NOT alone!

They asked two questions I was not comfortable with:

How many people live in your home? Do you have a land line?

Whether it is legitimate or not these questions made me uncomfortable. Hypothetically, if I were casing a place to rob, these are two questions I would like answered.

They should take a different approach.

Survey
I've been getting these calls almost every-other-day for the last month. They usually call early mornings and sometimes at night. I have friends and family that live in Chicago (where the 312 area code was based) so I answered the initial call thinking it may have been an emergency. Instead it was a survey center stating they were conducting a survey on the flu for the CDC. I politely declined their request stating that I was a teacher, in the middle of a class, and only answered because I thought their number could have possibly been an emergency and would appreciate it if they didn't call since my cellphone number is also signed up on the Do Not Call registry. They called back later that night and have been relentless since.

He (hubby) didn't want to speak to them and the man got a little mad....
I said we never get the shots(flu) and neither do alot of people I know-
He was amazed at that answer....

My husband just got off the phone with them and they asked some very stupid questions about land line or cell phone, and other stupid questions, and then some legit questions.  It took over 40 minutes to complete, so yeah you don't know what you are talking about!

I just got one. I answered in 3 rings and they hung up.

If I don't want to answer a survey, I'd just tell them. But they need to be ready to answer when I answer my phone in just 3 rings!

Also, I'm all for call-screening nowadays...messages are ALWAYS good to leave. It's a fail on the caller's part if they don't. And perhaps not leaving a message suggests I'm not important enough to them...maybe their call isn't worth my time either! ;o)

I have just received several calls this week from the Centers for Disease control and Prevention on my cell as well. It looks like they are starting all over again two years later.

Since there is a spam advertising post on here for Alen Air Filters, and since I recently (about a month ago) visited the Alen Air Filters website to order some replacement filters, and since in the last month ONLY I started to get the many no-caller-ID, hang-up calls from this spam NORC number, I am going to conclude that this NORC operation that claims to be doing legitimate health "research" gets at least some of the numbers for its robocalls from Alen Air Filters. Not good form, Alen. Won't do business with them again.

And I don't care how "legitimate" some of you want to make out NORC to be, if you robocall someone four or five or six times and they don't answer, STOP CALLING THAT NUMBER!  They don't want to talk to you.

Political Call
It seems to me that somehow ?Chicago? in my Caller ID and the use of the word ?legitimate? are diametrically opposed. LOL  National Opinion Research Center sounds like something a ?professional? Community Organizer would come up with!
I?ve gone from skeptical to cynical with regard to any type of 'phone' survey.  And I don't feel I have any particular phobia.
With regard to this ?supposed? survey; Doesn?t the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention provide their own statistical information?
After the second call I simply Blocked the number?.

They called me on my Skype number, which is registered as a cell number. Didn't leave a message, but called a couple times within a half hour. Luckily with Skype, I can block them. I'd love to know how to do something to stop all of these calls because they seem to be increasing in the past week. But my complaints to the DNC registry don't seem to go anywhere, and this morning's caller was reported to the BBB and is filed as someone not to do business with because of the same methods, yet he's still doing it three years later. Sigh. I'm so glad to have to pay a phone line so they have a way to harass me. I thought solicitations were illegal if made to a cell number?

I got the phone calls too and I haven't answered because I have a pre-paid phone, so I only answer calls from family and close friends.
If you call (312) 759-5200 like I did and are nice and pleasant, they will transfer you to the person who can take you off of the list. Both people that I talked to were very nice.
I got the (312) 759-5200 number from a post on the first page.
