any call after 9pm is an instant lawsuit...i worked in a business calling homes before

no company can call your house before 8am and later then 9pm

file a complaint, should be an easy $1,000 check if you threaten them with legal action

Terri Moore and Benedict provided classic examples of how *not* to end nuisance calls and how not to use this site.

Your callers do not maintain this site or this web page. Your callers cannot magically determine which numbers should not be called based on anonymous comments. You cannot expect compliance with your orders until, if possible, you deliver them *directly* to your caller. It is unwise to publish a phone number you meant to protect in an open forum where any data harvester and scammer can find it. I've reported this comment so that Admin can (very belatedly) redact it.

This agency or whatever they are calls my house at least twice a day.  I didn't know who they were so I didn't answer.  I now know they are trying to gather info on vaccines.  However, today when they called they left a message on my voicemail that said quote 'Oh, that's how you are.  I see, fine be that way.  I'll get you."  end quote. The voice he used attempted to be intimidating. I couldn't believe what I heard.  So I researched who they were and am infuriated! I don't know who they think they are.  Completely inappropriate and unprofessional!

While NORC at the University of Chicago may be legit but Norc U Chicago is not. They want to make you believe they are the same but they are not. Check the exact phone number of NORC at the University of Chicago on their website before you even answer it. I know of no survey company that would persistently call the same number. Usually they move on to another number so they can complete their survey. No survey needs you specifically.

Explaining the DNC Registry and how it works is like trying to teach checkers to chimps.... You are preaching to the choir because regardless of what you write,  the very next post will say "I'm On the Do Not Call List"
People.  Your letter says that you have the right to "OPT OUT" .....do it,  I did.  They opted me out.   Take a few minutes and go to the DNC site and read....then heed what it says!!!  You are not immunized against all unwanted calls.   Learn something today instead of thinking every unwanted call is a Telemarketer.

TELEMARKETING= Telephone Sales of products or services for monetary compensation

The DNCL is for TELEMARKETERS and FUNDRAISERS ONLY. The people doing this Important survey are not trying to SELL you anything so are not TELEMARKETERS and are not asking for Donations so they are not FUNDRAISERS either. if you're going to use the DNCL learn how it works PLEASE. These people are helping with The health of our nations children. our children are our future. don't you care about your future????

If you say the words TAKE ME OFF YOUR LIST and it must be those words... then you are gladly given your wish right then and there. The DO NOT CALL LIST does not apply to this Immunization survey that is conducted on behalf of the CDC through a government contract. the DNCL applies to telemarketers and fundraisers only. The survey interviewers are not trying to sell you anything so are therefore not telemarketers and are not asking for any donations and are therefore not fundraisers. You want them to stop calling say the 5 magic words or answer the questions and the automated dialing system ( non human ).. that dials your number will stop dialing it AUTOMATICALLY.Thank You

I get calls a couple of times a week from NORC U Chicago. They never leave a message. I have a case with the US Special Council regarding the US Public Health Service and I see that this NORC U does work for them and their affiliates.
Years ago, when my problems with the US Public Health Service started I got anonymous phone calls from someone who was obviously affiliated with the USPHS, and who knew a lot about my case. She did not say anything out of line to me, but the fact that she called me anonymously, and knew so much about me and my case, and was messing in my business, was disturbing to me. Then, a bit later, I received seven spent 9mm bullet casings in a USPHS envelope in response to correspondence I had sent to the USPHS Board for Correction of Records.
This agency is a scary bunch with a lot of power and a lot of money, and no oversight that I have been able to determine, except for corrupt Program Managers who make a mockery of any legal processes that the United States supposedly stands for.
I will never answer the phone for NORC U. I wish that they would leave me alone. I am afraid to even call a number and report them, I just want a resolution to my case, and to NEVER hear anything from anyone affiliated with the USPHS again in my life.

They call twice a week or so for the last 3 months.  If we have not picked up the phone, that means we were not interested. I wanted them to stop.  So at 9:20 pm tonight they called again.  I picked up to let them know I am not interest.

You can call 1-866-999-3340 and ask to be put on their no-call list. You can also call the CDC at 1-800-223-8118 and cite protocol #2000-17 and do the same thing.

Hope that helps.

A computer dials your number and if you do not pick up after a certain amount of rings, it automatically hangs up. Also, if the screen does not say leave a message, the interviewer is not allowed to.

All you have to do is exactly say "Take me off your list." Stop calling or lose my number will not work. They have to honor your request. Trust me, the interviewer who you are speaking with would be more than happy to take you off the list.

Do any of you read the previous messages - or do you just come here to bi*** and moan?  Unbelievable.

We received a letter in the mail that they'd be calling on behalf of the CDC (the US government) to survey us, if we would participate.

I have a phone that allows me block numbers.  It rings once and that's that.  Nothing to twist my panties up into a ball about, dat fo sho.

You can threaten all you like but it's a mute point.
