It's wacked man. These super freaks keep calling me wanting to give me a free cruise. I told them go ahead...give it to me. This creepy lady said all I had to do was pay the taxes. So I said, How the hell is that free if I got to pay you money? The bi*** hung up on me!.....crap I really wanted that free trip!!

Got a call on my cell phone. Didn't answer and checked here. Will put a block on. If you have Verizon, go to My Verizon, and under "Plan" select Call and message blocking. It's only for 3 months but it works to stop these idiots.

I got a call from this number a few days ago saying that I won a cruise. It was an autodialer/robotic voice that started speaking when I answered. The voice told me to press a number in order to talk to an agent or representative to claim my prize; I hung up shortly after and I have been unable to identify the business origins of the phone number. I did find out that they are utilizing the services of a business known as Peerless Networks out of Chicago, IL. I intend to find the business name and serve them with a civil action for violating the TCPA/Do not call list. Perhaps when I find more information about this caller that I will add the business name to this comment so that others can file violations as well. If anyone else has any other information, please don't hesitate to share here.
Thanks!

Call representing cruise lines. Said I entered to win. I didn't.
FS 2013-02-27 21:24:06 Telemarketer
robocall for a free cruise give away. Oh yeah, after what I saw this month I will never take a cruise. I did not press 1 or 2. It only lets them know it is a good number and you're on a list to be sold to other bottom feeders.

312-800-9016: called ~ 16:03 EST.
As usual for numbers I do not recognize, refused to answer the call. No voice mail was left.

Whenever I get a call that I don't know, i answer it but I have a whistle in my mouth and as soon as someone talks I blow in the phone as hard as I can and never get the call again.

Received the call just now at 2:12 PM ET (2.27) - Didn't recognize the number, so didn't answer as well. I never pick up numbers I don't know.

got a call from this number, did not answer although, when I lookup on the net to see who it is from, I then have one listing in my phone called "scam" I then list the number there so I do not answer when it may or shall call again. In this way I am not interupted when I have more important things to do. Just an idea !

I got a call from this number on my cell and didn't answer as I too am very reluctant to answer numbers I don't recognize. Interestingly is that I received a call from another one of the scammers just 6 minutes before. The number on my caller ID was 402-952-4444 from Omaha NE. I sure hope people are not falling for these a**holes!

Same as all of the above, but when I said I was not interested in pay something, the woman said "cheap a**" and hung up on me.

I never answer a call if I don't recognize the number. I always copy/paste the number and google it. 99% of the time I'm directed to this site and find many others who recieved calls too. I didn't answer and no message was left so I'm hoping they don't bother with me again.

I received a call from 312-800-9016 in the middle of the night. I thought it was an emergency yet it was some stupid robo call.

I'm thrilled to have read these responses. I too just got a call from this number. They left no message (thank goodness for caller ID). I am going on a cruise in a few months and I know that Royal Caribbean doesn't make scam phone calls.

probably not the best month to offer a free Carnival cruise to Mexico...
BookedCruise 2013-02-26 01:06:01 Unknown
I recently booked a cruise (within last 2 weeks) and got a call from this number (312-800-9016) tonight. They claimed to be from Carnival. As other posters describe, a man said that I was selected to go on a free cruise. I could choose between 2 different cruises - a 4-day cruise to the Bahamas, or a 5-day cruise to Mexico. I would only have to pay the sales tax (ranging from $98-138), port fee, and they would wave the actual cost of the cruise. I would have 18 months to use the cruise and there are no black out dates. All i had to do was give them a credit card to prepay the sales tax. When I said I didn't feel comfortable giving a credit card over the phone to someone calling me, the guy hung up on me! Don't fall for this scam!!
FEDUP 2013-02-25 22:45:20 Unknown
Thanks to caller ID I no longer answer any call I do not recognize. If it is a legitimate call they will leave a message. If you answer, and especially if you give them a hard time you can expect the calls to increase. There is one thing for sure the "DO NOT CALL LIST" is worth about as much as the US Congress.
Chicken Mom 2013-02-25 22:39:23 Unknown
They just called here too. Who do we report them to? Homeland security? FBI?Suggestions?
Monty 2013-02-25 22:01:50 Unknown
my phone rang a few minutes ago. it only rang twice and then stopped. The CID only said Chicago, IL.
Big Steve 2013-02-25 20:31:28 Unknown
They somehow got my cell #!!???
No message left!
Happy I looked at other posts!!!
I have never signed up for any "cruises"!!
fedup 2013-02-25 19:40:36 Unknown
Caller ID says Chicago IL. From reading other posts, I see that it is a cruise scam. I never signed up for a cruise.

I received a call from 312-800-9016. They told me that I had won a cruise from a drawing that I entered. I did not enter a drawing. I proceeded to see what the representative would say. She said the cruise was free but that I would have to pay $98 to hold my spot. I knew it was a scam from the start and immediately told her that was not possible. After I told her that wouldn't work she just hung up the phone. When I try to call back the line has been busy every time. Beware!
DickMD 2013-02-24 15:40:22 Unknown
Missed the call. Ha, ha. Tried to call back to ask not to call. Line perpetually busy.
