Called my cell phone ..no message..just a hang up...

Called and I didn't answer.  They didn't leave a message.

They left a voicemail, but it was just dead air !!

Got a call from this number, they left no message and I tried to call back but it does not even ring.

If Congress ever decides to do something, maybe they can agree that we need a law to stop these intrusive calls once & for all!

I also got a call from this number. No idea what company it belongs to as no message is left..

I received a call at 9:30pm from the same number with no VM.  I called it back and couldnt get a connection on this number.  Obviously advertising.

Good point about the 800 exchange prefix. So, if everyone here can so easily spot a bogus number on an incoming call, how come the phone companies can't?

This number called me just now but I didn't answer.  Thanks to all for helping me ID the culprit.

The best way to END THESE CALLS at least for a while, is to NOT ANSWER any number you don't recognize.  If someone really needs to speak to you they will leave a message.

If you answer, your phone number goes on a list that is sold to anyone who wants to pay for it.  And on and on it goes.

JUST DON'T ANSWER!

Maybe an FOIA to the FTC to see how many complaints they have received, what they have done to track down the miscreants.  Do Not Call is a joke.  Took over a year and 200,000 complaints a month to finally locate Rachel from cardholder services.

Never fear, though, the NSA has all YOUR calls and email in its database in case they ever want to intimidate you.

It was Mike Hower  he said I won some tickets for an Alaskan cruise I just had t party filing fees with my credit card.

Received call from this number this morning and answered the phone. A recorded message stating that I had entered a contest for a Caribbean cruise and I was selected. Well, I don't enter contests, just another crap call from a spammer who is most likely attempting to obtain personal information from you. I just hung up the phone and check the number. I am on a Do Not Call List also and they do not work period. Another number to block, this is so ridiculous having to block so many numbers.

If you get a call from this telemarketer, please file a complaint with the FCC and FTC: http://www.fcc.gov/complaints and https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx. If they receive enough complaints, they'll investigate. In addition, they send information on how to file a lawsuit. If enough of us file and win, that should have an impact. What a great revenge, earning money FROM them! Information on their website says the FCC have shut down several of these scams.

They call my home and hang up.

I just got one about 5pm.  I didn't answer as I saw Chicago on caller ID .   They left a message to press one to talk to one of them or press two to be placed on the DNCL  .  RIGHT !  Do Not Press either .    Dumb**s.

Rang, no message.  

I just programmed in my address book as "junk-jun-27-13-1" and set the ringer to silence!

I have received numerous UNWANTED phone calls from this number. I want them to STOP!

I called back rang a couple of times and then busy signal. Must be a scam

Then do not call list is a fricking joke. It just gives these scumbags more numbers to call...

They called saying I won a cruise and all I had to pay were $ 200 for the tax.
Then the man became very irate when I started asking questions.

Just a scam  looking for credit cards to steal. Seriously, the caller ID should be a dead give away.

Just got the same call, did't answer. Almost  a daily occurence from these idiots or similar ones.

I reference to other posts:

1)  The Do Not Call list only works for legitimate companies. The scammer and spammers don't care.

2)  You can't call any of these numbers back because they are being "spoofed" (faked).  i.e. have you ever, ever seen 800 as a prefix for a local number?

Just got a call at work.  Weird???
