I also received two calls from this guy, each time I was downloading updates from Microsoft Update program, twice in a row about 5 minutes apart. How did he know I was accessing Microsoft? The guy tried to get me to stop any open programs, find the Windows key in lower left corner, press that and the letter 'R' at the same time, then I would enter my license number for Microsoft.  I told him no, i wasn't comfortable doing that, but could I call him back. He said he was with Microsoft Tech Department, he was a Tech Rep and his name is John Martin. He had a lot of trouble with English, it was difficult to even understand the phone number. So, I looked up the number in reverse and I guess I'm not the only person he called. I seem to remember hearing from him last year too. Beware of the East Indian or Pakistan accent and a bad connection.
Really?

Just so Ya'll know. if you stop and think about it. where would Microsoft have gotten your name, address, phone number from? and do you really think they will take the time and money to hire and pay people to sit around and serch millions of users that own a windows operating system and give them a call to say "Hay,..your computer is jacked up, Let me help you with it." NO!! If you have ever called Microsoft for any kind of help they creat a "ticket" and give you a string on numbers that you have to give them when calling back. If you have more than one peoblem with your computer and call them back they log all your info. and will charge you for tech support. I know,..I've called them several times. I work in the IT field and they will NEVER call you and tell you to do something unless you've called them first! thoes people that have called and gotten tech support, yes,..you may have gotten help and they fixed your computer but they also installed tracking software on your computer and are watching every move you make. you check your bank account,..great! you just handed them your account number and password. it may not happen right away but it will.

As I stated before. do you remember EVER giving Microsoft your Name, Address, Phone number??? and do you really think Microsoft cares if your computer is going to crash? no, not their problem. they make software and make billions of dollars doing it. They can give a crap less if your computer is going to crash and they wont call you to tell you how to fix it. they arn't going to spend the money to pay an office full on people to sit around can reserch million's of users and babysit  them.

If your going to call "Microsoft" back after getting a call, grab your install disk or your retail box of windows and use that number or go the microsoft directly (www.microsoft.com) and pull the number form there and tell them about the call you got. If by chance it is real, someone at that number can help you or transfer you to someone that can.

This also could be someone driving by your house with a wifi catcher recording your IP address and reserching it finding out who the computer is owned by. the internet is now a very powerful thing. try googling yourself sometime,...you'll be shocked everything that is out there about you.

Jordan from Windows tech support 315-285-4103 (said it was his satilite #) called me, told me to go to my computer and hit CNTL R and enter CMD.  I did not.  He had my name, my address and said he wanted me to check my CLS ID# and if it matched the number he had, then I had a valid windows program and that they could help me.  Said documents had been dowloaded without my permission to my hard drive and that windows was getting error reports and it was their duty to help us clean up the virus.    They even said they would show me where the bad files were stored and I could delete them myself.  I told them I did not trust the call, asked for their number and would investigate and call them back, they even encouraged me to check and call back. ????

I got a call from this number from a woman with an accent.  She said her name was Rachel Johnson and she was calling from Microsoft Windows head office in New York..She told me cyber criminals had hacked into my computer and were using it for illegal activity.  She told me all my passwords had been comromised.  Then she asked if her tech dep't could have access to my computer to fix the problem.  I ended the call and called the police.  Then I found this info.

I got a call from a Jordan from "Microsoft Windows". I was very suspicious as have seen all the email warnings regarding these kind of calls, and remember reading that Microsoft would never call.  So I called Jordan out n this as I knew it was a scam.  He also spoke very fast with an accent and hard to understand. I asked for a number, and he gave me 315-285-4103 as well.  I called back and someone other than Jordan answered saying windows help line or something to that effect, I hung up. There was talking in the background like a call centre (which I'm sure is a recording). My phone rang again and it was "Jordan" Cali
Ling me back and saying they got a call from this number and confirmed my name and said h
I must have wanted to talk t him.  If they are a big call centre help line, how could he have known I called as it was "apparently someone else that answered". I told him I knew it was a scam and he hung up. I hate people like this that prey on unsuspecting innocent hard working people.  Get a friggin REAL job! Oh and to the people on here supporting them....ya right, it's the scammers trying to convince us they are REAL....NOT!

Very similar story than Johanne - I worked from home (Quebec) and I got a call from a private number. A man told me that he was from Microsoft and my computer had been hacked (85%) and he would help me to fix it. Otherwise my computer will crash. I told him that I will call my IT help centre from my work first and I will call him back after. He told me that he was there to help me (insistant). I asked him to give me a phone number so I can call him back after talking with someone from my company and he gives me the 315-285-4103.  My IT help centre told me that it was not real (search the number on the web and saw this post).
Beware!

Got a call from this guy (David Johnston) saying he was from Microsoft and that my computer was 'hacked'. He asked me "IF" I was running Windows 7, and then proceeded to tell me to go to my computer and run a program to remove the files the hacker placed on my machine. I asked him for a number that I can call to verify who exactly he is and he gave me 315-285-4103. I quickly went to google and came to this page. WALLA!! My suspicions were correct - a fake. As the others have said - BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!

I also received a call today from Phoenitech -  315-285-4103 from Jordan.  He said he was calling on behalf of Microsoft and that they reported many attacks on my software.

They wanted me to download a program which would give them access to my computer.  At this point I said I would call back.   He said I should speak with Simon.

I phoned Microsoft -  THEY SAID IT WAS A SCAM and to REPORT IT to phone scam.

I called Phoenitech back and told them all that I had learned -  they quickly said goodbye.

My computer had loads of virus and hence it was running very slow and was hanging every now and then. I called up at the number +315 285 4103(US & Canada) which was the number of Phoenitech International Service Provider. Phoenitech made my computer virus free. Now my computer has become super-fast, and working in my computer has become much more interesting for me. Really thanks to phoenitech, awesome service.

Hi, I am Jack. I was facing problem on my computer since last 3 weeks. Previously I was not aware about this international service providing system. But as one of my friends advised me to call 315 258 4103 consult the matter with the professionals of Phoenitech, I don't waste my time and call them. It is amazing that they solve the problem immediately. I was fully satisfied with the service of Phoenitech International Service Provider and my computer started working as before.

Just got a call from these guys. I can confirm everything that has been mentioned. I was extremely furious as my younger sister was the one dealing with it, when I came on the line I began to demand some credentials and told the guy he was a fu*cking scam. He got very nervous, if I asked his name he said you want to know my name, if I asked him his company name would say you want to know my company name instead of actually answering my questions. This was the only site I found that helped to confirm this for me. I am located in Ontario. These types of people make me sick!

I got a call from a private number. A man, who was speaking with an asiatic accent (I don't have nothing against asian people, I work in immigration), told me that my computer had been hacked and he would help me to fix it, and that if I refused, my computer could definitely shut down in the next days.
I told him to apologize my difficulties to understand his accent (so fast and bad) and I asked him if he would accept to speak a little bit slowlier (I'm french canadian). Didn't help at all. He continued the same story. He was nervous and insistant more than a peddler.
When I told him my surprise to be unable to know where the call was from, he told me he was working with Microsoft Windows.
I asked him to give me a phone number (for checking with the police), for calling back. He asked me to open the Internet page of Phoenitech and told me he was located in Ontario, but that the company was at Seattle and that I could get in touch...  I told him that even a kid was able to get in touch with anybody and direct the person to any web site saying he was working for...
I was so suspicious, he wanted to give me "a secret" phone number to reach him easily! His name was David ( though I doubt it) , and he told me I would just have to ask for him at the 315 285-4103 and they would immediately transfer my call to him.
I called where I bought my pc: it seems even the site of Phoenitech is not a real one.
Usually, I never leave at least two seconds to this kind of people.  Why I kept him a so long time on line? The name of "Microsoft" made "the" difference!  I really felt ridiculous after talking. I knew, of course, it couldn't be true. But...
Anyways, now I know hackers are working even by phone.
Please, be careful. Unfortunately, people who read this already know how to be protected: by no giving "any" information.

Received several persistant calls from 315 385-4103.  Said he was with Microsoft Windows and that my computor has been sending error messages to Windows.  He needed me to turn on my computor and confirm the computor licence number, which I didn't, and I had him call a number that I have call display on thinking I could get his number, but only private number came up.  He said he was in Seattle, Washington, yet the phone number he gave, 315 285-4103 is listed as Clayton, NY.  I'm guessing it's a scam.  This guys name was Jordan, also spoke very fast and very very poor English, and his bosses name is Mr. Jones.  Not to original is it.

I got a call from another number I didn't trust.  So I told them I was busy and would like their number to call me back.  He gave me 315-285-4103.  He said he was from Microsoft and my computer had been hacked and he would help me fix it.  That's when I told him I was busy as I didn't trust him.  Spoke with an accent and very quick and hard to understand
