I just received the following Text to my cell phone: "Subj:Award:Your nr. assigned to ticket AK101371NC W-O-N 1,116,000 USD.  For info emial: ticketnumbers@prizeaward.org" ......obviously its a scam

Just got this text.  It is illegal for a Canadian to claim a lottery prize in the U.S.

This message showed up on my mobile phone as a text message.

I got the same ticket number as you, go figure, from same email too.

I can't believe I got a scam text message like this at 8:30 this morning.  Do these people not sleep?  I am getting tired of phone calls and messages of this type.  Is there no way to prevent them?

I heard that awhile ago the government started to let all phone companies sell numbers to who ever they want to. Check with all your friends if they get the same text. If millions of people got the same text or call, we all need to start bitching to our phone companies. I have Verizon.

Definitely, it's a fraud.  I just got a msg several seconds ago, claiming that

I am not going to do anything about this trick, except reporting it as a annoying fraud.  I have seen a lot of similar tricks in my whole life.  My suggestion was that don't try to get hot money from things like this.  No free lunch in the world.

I got the same damn thing and i noticed it on the ny lottery line where it said that number is real but you can not talk to anyone.  I am surtainely not going to answer a not avaiable phone call from blanca@available b***s***!!  1,116.000.00 USD W>O>N MY A**!! (WHICH IS A NICE A**)

I have some spare time and an empty account. I'll check this out and let you know how it how's. I got another email from a "Mega Millions" something or other that looked legitimate enough...

I'm not holding my breath, but my phone bill comes in monthly (and I've been thinking thinking of switching providers anyway) and I emptied out one of my accounts recently, so I don't mind giving out the info to it. No way they can get anything out of me so why not? I'll keep you updated.
