I was online looking for a loan for school. Although i never got a loan, the phoen calls started he said his name as tim brown. Says there is a  criminal case against me, he wouldnt give me any information, well i told him to not call me again. well i received 2 calls at my job from this people and i told them i can not understand you you have a accent can i speak to someone who speaks better english. He got very mad and gave me a phone number to call 1347-292-8683 and when i got home i called and they asked for my name i told them they hung up on me. well i call back several times they never answered,Untill i blocked my number and they didnt no who it was. And they said ''what do you want'' you stupid B*tch.I got mad and told themi wanted to speak to someone who spoke english or a supervisor and then they told me how i was going to get F'd in the butt and called me a Mother Fker .well then my hubby called them and he said yes i am callign on behalf of my wife and they guy told him never call this number again when you are calling for someone else mother Fker. Well the way i see it if they can harrass me i can harrass them so i call them one morning at 3a.m. and one of the foreign dudes pick up and he said will you please stop calling i said sure i will if you stop calling me. well today i get another phoen call from tim brown. want give me any information and wants me to say yes to my social secruity number i keep telling him no. and i told him how i got talked to the week before and how i asked them to stop calling me. well he says i have 10 minutes to call 1347-292-8683. or he will go ahead and seek legal action against me. I sure hope its a scam

Same thing is happening to me...always an accent that I find hard to understand!  Always a different number too...how can I make this stop?  Get another phone number?  glad to know others are dealing with this too but sorry for us all!

I received a call from a number 315-551-5643 claiming their was a lawsuit filed and I could call back a different number 408-520-2483.  He told me he was calling from UNLV and he was an officer named Jack Johnson.  If I did not call back then he was sorry to tell me that I was going to have to go to court. Indian/Middle Eastern type accent saying that they have a lawsuit against me and they even have parts of my information, but not what they would need to have to sue me. When I told him he would need to send me the information in writing, he said that he couldn't and got rather rude.

Some guy just called my job from this number stating he was from UNLV. Told him that I'm at work and he wanted to know when I would be available.  Advised him that I know he's a fraud and not to call me again.

Man calls looking for a relative then goes on to say that I have a legal mcase against my social security number. First time he called he said he couldn't discuss it a hung up when  I told him to tell me about the case against me. He then called again two weeks later and left a voicemail saying again he was calling for my relative and then proceeded to tell me that I have legal troubled and to not disregard this call saying that he would go ahead with the legal action if he does not hear back from me. The first call was from a cell phone number in texas (210-693-1074), the second from (315-551-5643), and in the voicemail he left a third nunber to call him back at (213-816-0951).

This company called me, told me exact same thing that i have a lawsuit out against me. continued to call about 15-20 times a day. I have done cash advances before but have paid them off. I thought maybe I forgot one. I faxed my info to them so that they could have 300 for my first payment then 300 for my second and final payment. Thank god that my husband got my pin # wrong three times at the store because that deactivated my card and they were unsuccessful withdrawing the first payment. I had such a hard time understanding them that I complained to my husband that I was ready to pull my hair out because I didn't understand the men that kept calling about the cash advance i owe. He said he would call them and asked if they sent proof of this lawsuit against me. I said no. He called and demanded proof and they refused. They specifically said once you pay me the 600 dollars we will send you proof. Lesson well learned. The very next day, my brother told me he was broke because of the loan company he had to pay, just to make small taIk, I told him my story about my recent "loan" and his jaw hit the floor! Same scenario on his end but he, unfortunately, authorized payment and they have taken 1000 dollars of his money. (which is what I wouldv'e done if it wasn't for my wonderful hero of a husband!!!

I had a voicemail on my office phone on Nov. 30 at 2:38 pm from Officer Johnson from UNLV, stating there was a lawsuit filed against me and my social security number with the last for digits...then hung up.  Lots of noise in the background.  Strong accent.  I tried to call the number back but it was busy. Wonder if they will try to call back?

They called me at 6:25am saying I have a lawsuit against me in my name and social security number for a payday loan for a company called FF financial I told them I never took a payday loan out so whatever he got mad and said then why is there a lawsuit against you, I told him to send me the paperwork because you guys are to trying to scam me to make me pay and the sheriff is coming after you he got pissed and hung up.

Oh and same middle eastern accent and all names of men i spoke to began with "officer" also.
The two phone numbers were (769) 718-7315 and (315) 551-5643. I reported them to the BBB and will be reporting them to the Federal Trade Commission, as well.

I have been receiving phone calls from this same number, same deal as everyone else.  I've just been hanging up on them.  Don't know what else to do.

I just got this on my cell phone.  Everything was so hard to hear because of the connection except this guy's name is Office John Smith.  Seriously?!? What John Smith has such a heavy accent?!?!  Time to send them to the FBI or something.  Cyber crimes or scams should do it.  The call back number he gave me was 469-718-7315 I think is the last number.  That part got blurred.

This man called me from this number saying he was an officer and he said it was about a lawsuit he said the last 4 digets of my Social Security number. What am i suppose to do?

Yeah this man also called me.. I work at a bank so it was pretty easy to determine that it was a scam. I told him off, not exactly in the nicest way.. and he began to curse at me. I asked him what companies his "legal business" were affiliated with and he continued to repeat the name of his supposed company. He also told me that he was calling from america.. which was a joke! It did make me a little concerned that the man had  of my information.. (name, social, address). So i will be filing a report with the credit beurea. I suggest others do the same. AND DO NOT give this man any information!!! He will try to intimidate you with legal action.. but he's full of it! Talk to him wrong and you will see his extreme "professionalism".

I naswered the phone at a place of business. the caller said--
"can you take a long drive with me?" I said hello again and identified the business again.
the caller then repeated the same question. "can you take a long drive with me?" I told him that this was a recorded phone call and he said "so what!"
He had an accent similiar to India, Iran, Iraq. I could hear in the background what sounded like a tele
operator room with lots of men talking on the phone.

I hung up!

i keepm getting the same call.this is bull-crap how they can call from overseas is nothing private.

On 1/31/2011 at around 6pm, a man called me claiming his name was Officer Scott Mason calling for Money Cash Advance. He then called me names, cussed and threatened to arrest me the next day if I did not pay him $843.00 for a supposedly a $400 online loan he claims I applied for out online. He knew my social security number, address, full name, email address and last place of employment and said if I didn't pay him the company was going sue me and I would have to pay over $2000 in court charges. Then he had me write down his phone number to call him back which is (404) 981-6103 and said I had to fax him something in writing stating that I authorize the debit in the amount of $843 from a prepaid card or credit card towards my outstanding amount and I ensure the payment won't get declined and I won't dispute this payment along with the date the money will be sent, the card information, exp date, CVV#, billing address, my signature, and attached photo id and to fax to (650) 560-1721. I have since contacted my local police department and filed a report with BBBonline, the FBI, consumer reports online, social security dept., and posted a message to every scam site I could find on the internet.
And since I have received at least 2 emails from individuals stating that the same thing or similar has happened to them. See below:

Caller claims there is a lawsuit filed against my name and social security #, threatened to black list my social security and file court documents under my name and social security #. Said his name was Alex Scott, his phone number is 469-718-7315 but on my caller ID it shows 315-551-5643 Syracuse, New York. I immediately phoned the police for whom I previously filed a police report with and added to the report. In addition, I contacted the FTC as well and reported it too.

Same situation as "really irritated" conveyed in october. Around November, I did the same, really stupid request for a loan on line and my references are getting calls too. My daughter called her local police and a report was taken. The officer called my daughter and advised her to tell me not to take their calls any more but to document. The FBI is currently aware of these calls and are attempting to locate the source. The callers always use American-ish names, always have thick middle-east accents and given the opportunity (continuing conversations) they become threatening. When you question them, they hang up on you and call with the same accent, different name and won't allow you to speak to a supervisor. I had my supervisor at work talk to them as they kept calling my work phone. They threatened him stating that if he didn't give specific information, the police would come and arrest me and shut our "business" down. We are a state agency with state & federal funding! Duh! I'm still working and our "business" is still running at full speed helping needy people!

yes these people call me all the time telling me i have this pay day loan and a lawsiut has been filed againt me and my ss # and i have to give them a cc or debit card to pay this said i owed like 1200.00 dollars to some company this is a scam they have a forigner voice.

That message sounds very similar to my calls they tell me thee exact things lawsuit against me and ss # and they will send there officer to my work and home if I dont send all this money I know they called me 11 times less than 5 minutes this is getting to be annoying but how do i stop this.

I get calls from these people everyday I get home and there are at least 6 or more messages on my phone that this Alex Scott he is an officer has fraud chages againt me and my ss# and if I dont give them a cc or debit card # they are going to send an officer to my work place and home I was going to be in big trouble its getting to be annoying how can I stop this?

i recieved the same call today! and last friday from a woman calling herself julie jackson..uh but she had a heavy terrible indian accent these calls are suppossibly coming out of newyork,bronx,syracuse and queens area...how in the world do you owe a debt when you dont own a debt ...oh yeah and sometimes they call from a number that doesnt even show up as a complete number if you have caller id and then they even have you call another number that doesnt exist!

these guys are awesomely hilarious!! ya at first they want my address n stuff so they can sue me. then they are going to send the police to arrest me. then we go onto they are coming to my home. well i make em soooo mad then they start with the obcenities. so far this number is the second number theyve called from.  quite entertaining. amazing how intelligent they are. told em i hope they r good swimmers. and once they get here. well im in super redneck land usa. where theres a loaded gun in every room every vehicle and every pocket. hahahaha. and wen i have nothing to do i sit down and call them back a bunch. wow they dont have anything to say then and hang up on me. bummer.

Middle Eastern accent first called my cell with a private number, then an unknown number, and finally 315-551-5643. During the first call the individual stated a pending lawsuit on my social security number. He said he was from the Office of Federal Investigations and to take down my case number. I had him repeat every sentence several times due to his heavy accent. When I asked his name he said, "Dis is Ohfisur Davey Johnson." I hung up laughing...

Yes ppl this is definitley a scam.  If you did a payday loan & defaulted on the pymt it is the norm for a collection agency to pick it up.  However, these individuals are doing it for the wrong reasons & will take your money & run w/it.  I work in the legal field & when the man whom calls himself an officer or lawyer Thompson/Brown tries to get tasty I just laugh.  Please be aware that this is not an official company and do not give them ANY $$!!!!

this has been the fourth time i received a call but the first time at work. they've left multiple voicemails with the same "law suit" threat. i told them that i didn't appreciate them calling and harrassing me and that i know there is no lawsuit. i said i've already reported their number and will report them to the FBI if they continue to call me. She said (indian accent) " Ok, do what you would like. Good bye".
