These guys have called me a couple times a year for the past several years, and at first I would send a donation, but then when they started asking multiple times a year, and now after researching them....I'm done.  I have a close friend who is an officer and had never heard of this group, so that raised my suspicions.  And anytime they call and I answer, they say my first name excitedly, like they know me (not, is xxxxx there?).  And since we don't have caller ID on our home phone, I can't tell which calls to avoid answering!   Make them stop!

Today they called me -- again!  When I answered, the man belched and then hung up.

they've been calling for awhile, never leave a message, today i was home and was able to answer, a male on the other line said, "hello ms. williams" to hwich i replied, "i don't recognize this number" and then the voice on the other end said, "whatever" in a hatefull tone and hung up. when i tried to call back it said the mailbox was full. pffffffft. whatever.

Got the call at 2:22pm 4/20/09 and didn't anwser. Scared the F**k out of me but knew the cops don't just call like that.......they would much rather just kick your damn door in and beat the sh*t out of you,.....if they wanted something.

Got a call from them. It does indeed say Police Protection, although I'm not quite sure why. 317 is an Indiana area code, apparently. I live in the US, but far from Indiana.
When I answered, some man knew my name (or my last name anyway, as he referred to me as Miss _____) The man sounded very intimidating, I must say.
It freaked me out, being that it was a man calling with a "Police" number.
I'm not a criminal! But now, I've been reassured that I don't have some sort of warrant, or something! Lol.

Ever get a cop to help you?  I didn't think so. Just try to get them to help you with a real problem in need of diffusing.  They are usually less than interested.

Screw you cops and the marketing companies you hire to try and shake us down for protection money. This borders on flat out corruption, especially when anyone with an FOP license plate or a thin blue line sticker will never get a red light camera ticket or a legitimately deserved one issued by a real cop.

Why don't you guys spend your time arresting the crooks who are wrecking the financial stability of this country instead of shaking down the little people? Oh yeah, that would involve sticking your neck out.

I received a call a couple of hours ago from this number and the person just kept breathing into the phone.  I phoned the State Attorney General and was told they are not a registered charity.  I carefully research all my charities before I give them any of my money.

If you have any doubts don't hesitate to call the Attorney General's office in your state.  Also, if you wish to give to your police officers' charities, I suggest you call your state police department directly and they will help you.

I did some research and found the advisory council for the police protective fund.  On it is Dave Fair. His number is  325 642 8465   PLEASE CALL HIM WITH YOUR CONCERNS!!!

yeah this sucks, first it was "CHRIS PEARSON" who i guess is a type of survey company. When chris pearson called our house about the 5th time i answered and they asked for me by name i told them they had the wrong phone number and i havent recieved a call from them since..I did the same thing with the POLICE PROTECTION after them calling a few times..hope it works for these bastards too!...Because if you think about it the person on the other end of the phone could be ANYONE, just ready to F*** your whole world up!!..Actually i think they got my name because i use my name a lot on the net with buying products online and filling out surveys online, because it never started until i did! word of advice, dont give out your real info unless absolutly must!!!!

I received a call from this number @ 3:40 P.M. on Wednesday 11/28/07 and when I called back, I was hung up on. This is frustrating.

I recieved a call on 12/6/07 and nobody left a message.

My husband received this phone call then called me at work about it.  They asked for me by name.  Called the # back and it was a recording about the Police Protection Fund (?)... I heard a while back that they are still allowed to call even if you are on a no-call list.

I told the person that i didn't give out money to people over the phone, the person stated that i didnt have to make out a plan to donate over the phone, in other words i could do it by mail.

They just called me at 11:02 a.m. on Christmas Eve.  The called ID read "Police Protection."  I answered the phone and all I heard was ringing, as if I had called them.

I keep getting these calls through out the day. Twice today. They usually hang up and leave no message. When I answer they hang up right away. I have registered for the do not call list. Isn't this a violation?

This place is driving me nuts!  They call several times a week.  I have reported the number to every local,state and federal agency that I could find!

Do not give these thugs any money.  

They have even called on behalf of police dogs who want to stop drug use.  I think I need a dog with that kind of logic ability.

THey have been calling me two or three times a day for a couple weeks now.  Who can we call to get removed from their list.
