I don't burn good junk mail. I stuff it all back in the business reply envelope and send it back to them. They have to pay the postage when it gets deliivered back to them. It's a little revenge on my part.

Yep, just got mine in the mail. Went online to check out the company and I see many who have taken the time to let us know whats really going on. Thanks Guys! These are the days of low morals and "get mine" attitudes. People dont care who they scam, hurt or destroy, as long as they fill their pockets. I dont know who these people are, but the next time Im in Florida, I think Im gonna pay Ms. Patricia a lil visit. lol

Received the same letter and most likely phone calls as well. However, apparently Mary Evans is not alone! My letter was from Patricia Smith, CCD Research. It's a shame we live in a world where people think nothing of ripping off others.

Yep, I got the same letter saying I'd been selected to receive a free cruise with airfare.  They've also been calling me. The number I was given to call back was (888)736-6566. A Mary Evans from 1005 River Knoll Drive in Holly Hill FL 32117.  If it's a business such as it claims celebrating their grand opening and offering a free cruise, why isn't a business address instead of a residential name and address?  Very shady. I feel sorry for people who actually believe they've *won* something.

I got a phone call from this as well. Said my claim number is "635".  Which seems to be everyone else's claim number as well...go figure.   The reason why the "do not call" list doesn't work is that this is most likely a VoIP line that is randomly calling numbers.  It is set up not to take calls.  They don't care about the laws and they are becoming an increasing problem...hopefully they figure out a good way to stop them because it is extremely annoying.  My advice...don't answer the phone unless you know the number...that way you don't give any of these callers the chance to confirm that your number is a real one.  My motto is "If it's important, they'll leave a message".

LOL. The local newspaper has an expose series about the density of telemarketing and real estate scams in "Fraud Lauderdale."

You can file telemarketing complaints to: FTC.gov -- they are getting tougher on some violators.

Also contact FCC.gov and the Attorney General of your state. Alert your phone service to harassment calls right away.

I got a few calls from them recently, only this time they left a voicemail. The caller sounds female, but it seems to be partial [voicemail]. All I can make out is "635". It seems very strange, but more annoying than anything. The last thing I want is my phone going off in class or something to that effect.

For the record, I have a PA cell phone with a 610 area code, so it looks like they've made it up here.

Leaving in Fl., the home to these time share promotions we get a lot of these offers I received the written version of this today. What I do is send it to my Wife's cousin who, with his wife are retired and go to as many of these as possible. It is one of the fastest ways to get off these guy's list. They have done it for years from Fla. to Ca. They always bring the written offer, which can also be gotten from the 800 number, along with the Attorney General of Fla. business card and presents both to people putting on the presentation. When they get up to leave after the exact number of minutes as stated on the invitation, any problems getting the promised gift, free nights stay, tablets or what ever they present the business card and advises them it is against Fla. law to offer time share presentation and you have fulfilled the agreed amount of time to listen and not received, what is now a contracted enumeration  for attending. Most of these are going to be places that they go to anyway at some ,Vegas, Orlando, Az. etc. Gifts can be tricky especially the tablets, you can usually pick these up like on black Friday for under $45 so these Companies can get them in bulk for a lot less. So if everyone turns it around you do get some thing for free, think of it like a coupon. O! Only have to spend the exact time stated so you do not need to do a one on one with the manager as they will try and make you believe, mark down when it started. Business cards for the A.G. office can be had on line, in Fla. it is www.myflorida.com  other states have their own central site.

I just got a call. I didn't know the number so I didn't answer. I let it go to voice mail. When I listened to the message all I heard was, "press 2 to be removed from this list.....and your claim Number is 635."

Better turn off your answering machine then and just let the phone ring until they quit.  An answering machine response is also flagged as a working number to call back later.  Maybe an answering machine that starts with the "Not In Service" tones twice with a short pause in between before the actual message asking callers to leave a message for you might fool the automatic dialers to remove your number from the call list.

Welcome to the Internet Enabled Caller ID Spoofing Service.  Callers using VOIP services can set their Caller ID information to anything they wish and often do to avoid being traced.  There are also "outbound only" numbers available for businesses but the message when you try to call is along the lines of "this number cannot be used to receive calls" rather than the generic "Cannot be completed as dialed" or "Not In Service" messages.

Received a sealed envelope from Mary Evans of the CCD Research LLC www.cdcresearchgroup.com for a free android tablet.  Clicked through on their website with the offer code.  Typical grifter type scam.  For a stupid $200 tablet you gotta put up with this below and probably spend $5,000.

Good advice, but one better: do not answer at all.  If you do, they will know the number is "alive" and will not only continue to call, but also sell that number to other spammers.  As a result, the number of calls will be increased.
