This is the 2nd number for ASPCA - I get 2 calls a day, some from this #, some from a different number.  I will never donate to them again.

I've been donating for years and have never been called before until today.  I don't know why they are soliciting unless there has been a recent emergency/disaster and they need help for the animals.
Please don't let a few calls to your phone discourage you from helping animals that need funds for their well being. It's not them that are calling; they shouldn't pay for it.

It is a telemarketing firm who is asking to raise donations for the ASPCA. All I could do was 2 dollars a month extra. I went from giving 18 to $20 bucks a month. These places are hurting like everyplace else is. If you can't give extra then don't. If you can give a dollar or two more than do. It's up to you. But the calls are legit.

I totally agree.  I donate for the animals...by refusing to donate again because of these calls, only hurts the animals in need.

please stop calling and soliciting, as soon as i can start to donate again i will do so without the calls!

I've been getting calls from this number for the past week 2 to 3 times daily. It comes up as the ASPCA, but there is never a message left.

These people or their telemarketing firm are calling me 2x a day seven days a week and as previous posts note,  holidays too!  While I have supported the ASPCA in the past these calls are really getting annoying.   My future donations will go to my local animal shelter.

Even on Sunday and holidays. This is a disgrace.

I know your messaage is old but I hope you realized by telling everyone not to donate to ASPCA that the animals are the ones affected NOT the rude people calling.  It is not their fault.  Please don't say or write things like that.  Our world already has enough hate in it and an animals innocent soul shouldn't be the one to get punished.  thanks

Well good for you. You don't mind being harassed. I love animals. However there are other organizations designed to help animals other than the ASPCA and they don't harass the people who donate. Also I just wonder how much of they money they receive goes to help the animals. They spend A LOT of money on television ads, contracts with a donation service to call people and not mention all the crap they mail EVERY DAY.

This number calls me night and day every day of the week!!! I answer and there is no one there. They leave messages with nothing but air on the other end! I am tired of this number calling me all the time! Knock it off already, if I wanted to talk to you, I would answer!

Multiple calls per day from this number, no voice or text messages.  Very annoying!!  I don't appreciate this approach even from the ASPCA who I support. I don't accept solicitation phone calls, PERIOD!

Please stop calling me. It will not increase my donations. I do not respond to telephone solicitations on principle. Thank you!

Most calls collecting for charities the charity only gets about 30% of your donation.  The firm making the calls gets the other 70%.

If you want to donate to help animals send a check to your local animal shelter.  


If you are being harassed on your cell phone assign this number a "no ring" ring tone.  It won't stop the calls but it will keep them from disturbing you.

I'd suggest donating to your local animal shelter. Much less overhead than ASPCA, and the money goes to improve your community.

I do donate to several animal charities from time to time... mostly the SPCA. However, I never leave my number and if it's mandatory, I check to NOT call me. I decided on a wim to just google this number and it's crazy to see that you all have received calls from this number as well. I get calls several times a day and NEVER do they leave a voicemail. I have called back once and it started saying, "Thank you for calling back the ASPCA, please hold while we access..." then I hung up. I probably should've stayed on the line to tell them I don't want anymore phone calls but it's bordeline harassment. Several times a day, almost every day?

Wow....so you are deliberately advising people not to donate to this a cause all because you were inconvenienced for a few minutes.  Thousands of cats and dogs die each day due to a lack of homes and funding and yet you were inconvenienced.....yep, you're right...don't donate to help the less fortunate.  Wow.......

No worries! Just the ASPCA. I am a monthly donor, my card they were direct withdrawing from had expired. I am passionate about their venues and happy to donate to this worthwhile group. Glad they called. By the way, the donations are tax deductable.

I've gotten a tremendous amount of calls for months from this number on my cellphone. I never answer phone calls from numbers I don't know. They call all times of the day. Once I got a call Sunday night at 10:30pm. This caller is a borderline harrassment!!! They never leave a message but continuous calls on end!

the "real" issue is generating more money from donors to the cause.  Which these annoying phone calls are obviously hurting.

oh good grief!! just how important do you think you are??? telling everyone to NOT donate. that's really nice. its just a phone call. are you really that put out by one phone call? how do you get through the day if one phone call from one of the best charitable organization's in the nation upsets you this much??

Just got a call. I donated a few weeks ago to the ASPCA.

I read in Smart Money that pestering works to get more money than it does to harm the charities, so I can see why they would be aggressive in calling.

I was on a monthly donation to the ASPCA when my wallet was stolen, so the card was no longer valid. I would ignore or answer and there would be no one there so I finally waited and kept saying hello.  The woman on the phone treated me like I was a deadbeat.  She wanted the new card number and I told her it wasn't a convenient time for me to get it for her, so she gave me a deadline!  Like I had to make the payment by a certain date!  Or what???  I'll donate to the Humane Society from now on.

I get a call from this number at least 6 or 7 times a day. They leave a voice mail but no one says anything it just sounds like someone is driveing in a car. I get in trouble at work cause they are calling me all the time.

They have been blowing me up lately...multiple times a day. I DO donate monthly so it is kind of odd they aren't trying to be nice! I called to get taken off call list....we'll see if it works.

I have been getting these  calls but don't answer them. I use to donate regularly to the ASPCA and have bought merchandise. I guess they want to know why I stopped. While it is annoying, that is no reason to not donate. It certainly isn't the poor homeless animals fault. If you have donated in the past,you obviously care about them. Please don't let annoying calls stop your generosity towards homeless and abused animals.
