DCS is legit, they collect US goverment defalted student loans.  If you borrowed the money from the US goverment to go to school and spent it on something else or if you spent it to go to school.  You still borrowed the money from the US goverment and the goverment can do what ever they want and there is nothing you can do about it.  Make arrangments and pay it back

Who are you, and why did you call my number?

they call, from 325 224-6648 at least 3 times a week. They never leave a message. If it could be some kind of collection agency, they must be dialing the wrong number. I do not owe anybody, anything, (except for monthly expenses)....Need to be home sometime when they call

The calls started yesterday from a company called DCS. The caller's name is Steven (Stephen?) Harris and he is very rude and talks over you if you ask for information about the nature of the call. He says he cannot give out that information and keeps asking for my oldest daughter's phone number (which she has none). I tell him this and that she has not lived in my home since she was 18 years old (she is now 33) and that I do not have any way to get a message to her. He persists. I ask him to remove my number from his data base and he says, "This is the way it's going to work...". I told him please remove my number as I am not responsible for my adult daughter's debts. He keeps talking over me and having a more and more "tough guy" attitude with me. In exasperation, I hang up.
I have since researched this on-line and found they are a collection agency  and usually are associated with defaulted student loans...  
He basically said he will keep calling me until he gets a better number for my daughter.
I filed a complaint with the BBB and the State Attorney General today.

Just know a Virgina Cushiner works for dcs in san angelo tx and she tells everyone about the accounts she works on and bad mouths everyone she has to call out side of the walls of dcs she also uses their data base to do back ground searches on people she works with at her second job doing stuff for the irs... your information is not safe there and your names are being talked about all around the area...

OMGosh Mary! I just talked to the same man, Steven Harris! Our neighbor from across the street came over with this number written down. He said a man called him & asked him to give the number to the man across the street (aka us). He would not give our names or his. When I called it (after blocking my number) he would not give me any info & screamed & even cussed at me. When I asked for his boss he gave me another number 325-224-6501, that number is a voice mail where you can leave your name & number, lol like Im stupid enough to do that!

I called my local police station who put me in touch with the FBI & I have filed a report. Please everyone else do the same.

They called me about my ex-husband of 10 years. They couldn't tell me what for that it was personal buisness. I gave them the info they wanted. I was more than willing to help him get into more trouble. LOL They wanted any information I could give them, phone numbers, address, employer, etc.

They called me at my volunteer workplace, which makes me think they assume this is my job. They left an obscure message with my supervisor and I knew immediately something was fishy. I tried calling them back and I realize I shouldn't have left my cell number as a return #. I hope these people don't call me back. I'm not sure how to best handle this situation because I have a feeling they will start calling my cell now.

Can you spell ANYTHING correctly? They have only been in business since 2006(BBB) They DON"T do their homework & check if the person who skipped on the bill is the person listed for that phone#. They will never stop, eventhough they say they will "Take you off the LIST."

So I also got a call from this wonderful company....  
When they called me they claimed that I was behind on my student loans and that if I didn't pay immediately that the US government would sue me....

I'm still a full-time student and when I contacted the Dept. of Education they told me I don't currently owe anything and that they have not given my account or any of my information to this company.   It's a fraudulent attempt to gain payment of a debt I don't have.

Interesting.....  DCS is like one of same places I get calls from any Collection Agencies...... Even in letters They say u owe Blah Blah Blah.... And I can handle people calling anytime they want. Doesnt bother me! :)

I must also be stupid for calling the IRS to get copies of tax returns from over 10 years ago to prove you wrong. Once I explained the reason for said request, I was told by the IRS representative that you had no right to require such, nor did I have to provide it you and my tax returns were private and should never be given to you, EVER. According to the IRS it was your responsibility to prove said debt in accordance with the law and a decade later was a far stretch.

BTW, you are required by law to send me said documents upon my request and after 40 plus phone calls to your office, I still have not received the required documents...hmm who is the stupidest person on earth? This organization has been calling my 85 year old mother-in-law trying to get the names and phone numbers of her grandsons.  Will not tell her who they are or why they are calling and will not return calls to me when I requested. They went so far as to claim that one grandson had called them but they lost his number and wanted to get back to him - I called the grandson and he had never hear of the whole matter.

As per our telephone conversation yesterday, February 24, 2009, I reviewed my tax returns and while I only have actual copies dating back to 2002, I have sent for the IRS transcripts for 2000 and 2001 in accordance with the H&R Block files submitted. I do confirm that due to loss of my business in 2000, I owed VA state taxes. My 2001 tax returns were a big disappointment since they were e-filed and the IRS paid the state taxes owed for the first time sending me less than $100 ruining my annul trip to the beach.  I was also refunded $130 from the sate of VA in 2002, which is a clear indication that the only year I ever owed taxes in my life was paid off. Since 2003, with the internet capabilities I have filed and have copies of all my tax returns.

Luckily IRS keeps records for 10 years despite the fact that the tax payer is only required to keep state records for 4 years. Whew, I just made it in the nick of time, plus since the e-file was started in 2001, I am sure it is so much easier to keep computer records besides all that giant bulky paper work they had to store and juggle around the IRS offices.

During my research for almost a decade old tax records, I had the opportunity to do some research on you personally and DCS as a company. Your presentation yesterday was excellent and you actually had my credit card in hand ready to make installment payments on a bill I did not owe, after loosing my job due to the Lehman Brother?s curse, and despite negotiations to get my mortgage rate reduced due to severe hardship. You lost me when you had to have 3 personal references before approving the payment arrangements. Do you know how many people die a year and no one knows them or even claims their body?  Everyone has a credit reference or two but not all have three personal references, especially in a country where people leave jobs at an avg. of 2.5 years and move across country or just a few miles away and loose touch without a common thread like a job. I have lived in my condo for over 3 years and I still don?t know my neighbors; I did read up on your illegal techniques to find out if someone was still alive. Having little old ladies slipping notes under unknown neighbors? doors-WOW!

Last year this time, to be exact, February 2008, you were one of the top performers of Starfish Home in Ventura WOW! I would hire you in a second to cold call properties for concierge services to get my company started! I have trained leasing agents for over a decade and you definitely have a special skill with closing a phone deal.  In addition, while you were doing a great job, CDS has had more complaints filed at the BBB than cases they could settle. Just for fun, 113 cases regarding improper billings alone; I am sure you are aware of the rest of the laws suits and that CDS is not approved by BBB and not even an Inc.


While we had our chat yesterday, you were not aware that your initial letter dated February 19, 2009 arrived via mail a few hours before you started calling and not leaving messages. I would leave a polite message and ask for a call back instead of constant ringing The FDCPA has strict guidelines for fair credit dept collections to include rights of recipient to respond. A letter dated February 19, 2009 that gives you until March 1, 2009 to validate debt and date stamped February 23, 2009, with an urgent call from you stating that payment is due now and you have to make payment arrangements before tomorrow February 26, 2009 or assets/wages will be debited, are consistent proof of strong arming a debtor, not to mention an innocent person whose dept is not yet validated or ever will be, since it is inaccurate.

This is your job and you have the right make certain calls and send correspondence within guidelines. You must send tax collection notices certified [the IRS does], have accounts readily verified [unless planning on willful fraud], and allow the full 30 days as inconspicuously written on the back of your notice. Your letter alone with the record of calls placed to my home and cell yesterday, has already violated FDCPA laws and regulations. It is not my job to explain FDCPA regulations, but we do live in America, not all dept is actual, we are innocent until proven guilty; we don?t behead or stone to death without proof in this country; that I know off?!? Did something change since 2001?

Unless, DCS tries to defraud a large number of tax payers who owed 2000 taxes and in accordance with the 2001 e-file the IRS paid their outstanding state balances before issuing a refund if any.  Many can be fooled into actually paying for funds they do not owe. They will have an honest recollection of dept owed, once reminded a decade later and feel threatened, or just tired. While I do not have 3 personal friends I do have some acquaintances in the real estate market and some pretty cool internet connections; just for the innocent. I was shocked to hear how many people were sent the same type of letters for past due taxes for 2000 paid by e-file in 2001 by the IRS to the state. I would give you my number to date, but that would not be as much fun as spending my day researching a bogus bill over twice the amount owed to the state of VA in 2000 paid in full in 2001 by the IRS. I am sure DCS has the number they attempted to defraud and so will the BBB and FDCPA regarding actual cases and attempts at defrauding innocent victims.

This is not personally against you, you were great, doing your job and almost had me, just pushed it a little too far and lost the sale. This letter is for CDS and a warning regarding the 2000 and 2001 e-file fraud, knowing that the IRS only keeps records for 10 years, most people 5 to 7 at most and the DCS relentless callers even when the debt is not accurate.

If you received one of these letters act fast and respond only in writing and certified mail! WOW look at the time! Stacy! I forgot to call you by 9:00p.m.; forty five minutes late, wanted you to hear the goods news first hand! YEAH I ALREADY PAID! You were so curious about my personal life yesterday, thought you were trying to be friends; thought I could have your personal info for Pepco tomorrow? Ooops?that?s right, I did not call you and ask you for personal info regarding an unvalidated debt and I certainly was not the first one to know that I have a ?debt? almost a decade old until yesterday, due tomorrow, with triple tax penalties. Must have been in a coma and untraceable until I woke up yesterday!

Question about telephone calls. I keep getting calls from area code 325 by DCS a collection Agency in San Angelo TX.
 I talked with the Mgt. Asked them to stop calling. Today again I get a call talked with the guy asked to speak with management.
   He said I have a right to call anyone. I said to him do you want to prove that point in a court of law. ?My Lawyer is hungry can he have you for lunch??

They have been calling me everyday since Jul 2008!.
 Now today something really STRANGE!!!

  After the callback I get another call unknown phone number. Next on my phone and on the Telephone Records
    The entire Telephone Transaction Log is ERASED!!!!

  Who is powerful enough to get into the Telephone System and erase telephone logs?
    The Government Police or Federal Agencies? AmDocs with the Billing System?
      Gangsters running operations within the Phone Company or the Mossad.?
 
   The guy did this after I reminded him to remove my phone from the list. I told him
     My lawyer would like to have him for lunch. He said ?We can do what we want?
      I said ?Would you like to challenge this viewpoint in a court of law??

   He then did something after the phone call to erase the telephone transactions  
     Off of my cell phone and off of the telephone logs of the phone company!!!.

   It is now as if the phone transaction did not occur!!

   Anybody have information on who is this Company DCS out of San Angelo Texas?

    Tahoe and then disappear.  Later took a boat trip on the Lake here again DCS from
     San Angelo Texas calls again.  Next day take a hike up to a mountain top again
      DCS calls me again in the middle of the Forest. Seem like the calls are used to
   Track my locations. They claim they are a collection agency looking for some deadbeats.
    At this point I do not buy it!!

A MAN CALLED AND TRIED TO GT INFORMATION ABOUT SOMEONE BUT WOULD NOT BE FORTHCOMING ABOUT HIMSELF OR THE BUSINESS HE WAS ASSOCIATED WITH.  VERY RUDE TO ME EVEN THREATENING AND SCREAMING.  I FINALLY HUNG UP.  MY CALLER ID SAID DCS AND HIS NAME WAS STEVEN.  GOOGLED THEM AND THEY WERE A COLLECTION SERVICE - NOT EVEN LEGIT.  THEY WERE WANTING TO USE THE PUBLIC RECORDS LAW TO TRACK DOWN SOMEONE WHO PROBABLY OWED A BILL FROM 15 YEARS AGO.  THEY ARE A SCAM - HANG UP ON THEM.
