Just got a call again for the second time. Caller says my husband called about refinancing our house?!  They call every day. Does not say the financial institute's name....

This number has gone on my blacklist (blocked). I won't be hearing from them anymore.  ;-)

You make the calls stop by blocking their phone number. You need a phone service, or a phone, that permits number blocking. This is not generally a feature of your local telco.

I got a call from them today, they hung up on my answering machine without leaving a message.  If Nancy is correct then it's absolutely disgusting that these people are allowed to be considered a charity by law.  They should be thrown in jail for life.  They are literally taking money from cancer research to fill their own pockets.

The caller is a COMPUTER voice - they call a lot; it's the same technology that is used with "Dan" who sells security systems.

I found out that this is the "Cancer Fund of America" scam. They are actually based in Salt Lake City, Utah & pretend to be a charity. They didn't leave me a message. They called me from 336-308-0139 on 8/17/2012.

Just looking on our state website which lists the donation vs. charity ratio of all of the fundraisers - theirs is pathetic.  
Their name should be - Pay the Telemarketers.  

The only thing these sound-alike groups do is cut down on the amount of monies that go to the legitimate charities and waste our time by having to answer the calls.

This is the Cancer Fund Of America. The woman started her sales pitch and I asked her to just wait a minute and she kept right on talking. I finally shouted, "STOP!" at which time she stopped jabbering. I tried to be nice and told her that my daughter is a cancer patient right now, that she has no insurance, and because of that I have no money to spare. She then proceeded with ,"Well, we understand that the economy is  tight right now, but these cancer victims, blah blah blah. I finally screamed at her, "YOU JUST DON"T GET IT, DO YOU?" and hung up. If these people were really concerned about cancer patients she would have offered their services to me instead of trying get money from me. I called the number back and pressed 1 to be removed from their call list.

These "Cancer Fund of America" a***oles are actually fundraising predators based in Salt Lake City, Utah, although their robo-calls show up with an Asheboro, NC Caller ID as having been placed from a "landline" phone at 336-308-0139.  They care absolutely nothing whatsoever about your family's privacy or personal inconvenience, and they're a disgrace to all legitimate cancer research entities.

I received a call from this number, 336-308-0139. It was about 9:30am on Monday. The Caller ID said "Asheboro, NC" and I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. I called the number back and got a recorded message. The company was calling itself The Cancer Fund of America. Right after she said that she says you can press 1 to get your number removed from their calling list.

Just got a call didn't pick up..no message left.
