Yep, it?s Citi cards calling to bug you about a late payment.  They call constantly, almost 8x a day.  I finally starting saving the phone numbers and setting the ringer to silent, so now they won?t bother me?at least until they call from the next new number.  I am up to 11 numbers! : 816-420-4003; 336-522-8998; 817-802-1496; 972-655-2510; 904-954-3073; 904-954-3071; 859-283-3677; 859-283-8071; 972-655-5210; 740-834-1496; and 816-420-4002 are ALL CITI BANK!!!

I have been fighting Sears Mastercard Citigroup for over 3 years now. They put a refrigerator I purchased on a 0% promotional thru my account 3 times trying to "fix it". They misapplied payments on my account. When I called them their "customer service" treated me like dirt, would mock me and then hang up on me. I have sent several certified letters to the Presidents Office who in turn wrote me a letter saying that they would no longer answer me. They have messed up my account so bad that they do not know how to fix it. I have been awaiting the OCC's decision since October 2008. They called me non-stop on my business cell phone (they got it off the letter sent to the President's office for them to call me) seven days a week, many times just hanging up on me. I had to write two letters to get them to stop. They are reporting erroneously on my credit report. I am in the process of getting everything to an attorney to file a law suit against them. They are the WORST of the WORST and it is no wonder they are going under! Please report them to the FTC as I did and the OCC. Also, consider filing a suit against them. If you have experienced problems with Citigroup, email me to discuss further litigation. airprayer@aol.com

Calls several times a day-all week, 7 days, but never leaves message on answering machine. I don't know if there is some law or something but others like GE DO leave a message. It is very frustrating and annoying!
Does anyone know if debt collectors are required to leave a message AND if the are supposed to call Monday thru Friday and only from 8AM to 9PM? I can not seem to get clarification on this. Also, if it is a business is it not REQUIRED that their name show up on caller ID? Curious to know these answers. TIA

I just called number and it said it was Citicard Sears. I missed one payment, and they call me ALL DAY, hang up within 10 seconds without a word, and leave no message. My balance is $300. I'm paying it and leaving them the hell alone!

IT IS NOT ILLEGAL TO CALL ON SUNDAYS! THAT IS A RELIGIOUS PREFERENCE THAT PEOPLE SAY IS A DAY OF REST NOT AN ACTUAL LAW. I WORK AT CITI CARDS AND TAKE INBOUND COLLECTION CALLS. WE HAVE AN OUTBOUND TEAM WHO CALL THE NUMBER ON THE ACCOUNTS TO TRY TO COLLECT A DEBT ON A PAST DUE ACCOUNT, MY ADVICE IS IF YOU DONT HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH ANY OF THE FOLLOWING COMPANIES: SEARS/KMART, LOWES, HOME DEPOT, SUNOCO, SHELL, EXXON, MACYS, RADIO SHACK, CHILDRENS PLACE, ZALES, CITI MASTERCARD, CITI MORTGAGE, CITI BANK, CITI FINANCIAL AND THE LIST GOES ON  THEN CALL THEM AND TELL THEM YOU DONT HAVE AN ACCOUNT. OUR OUTBOUND TEAM CALLS WHATEVER NUMBER IS ON THE PERSONS ACCOUNT AND YES NUMBERS CHANGE BUT PEOPLE DONT CALL IN AND UPDATE THAT WITH US AND EXPECT US TO KNOW THESE THINGS. BUT I WAS READING THROUGH THESE AND SAW SO MANY PEOPLE SAYING CITI CALLS THEM ON A SUNDAY AND ITS ILLEGAL, NOT TRUE!!!!! THATS JUST A PREFERENCE AND RELIGIOUS THING, NOT AN ACTUAL LAW.  IVE WORKED AT CITI CARDS FOR SOME TIME AND WE FOLLOW THE LAWS TO A TEE. SO IF YOU FEEL LIKE YOU DONT HAVE AN ACCOUNT, CALL CITI AND LET THEM KNOW, WE ONLY CALL THE NUMBER PROVIDED ON THE ACCOUNT TO COLLECT A PAST DUE DEBT, NOTHING PERSONAL, NOTHING HARASSMENT WISE, SOMEONE OBVIOUSLY OWES MONEY TO THEM. AND AS FAR AS CALLING MANY TIMES IN A DAY THERE ARE LAWS FOR THAT BUT EACH STATE IS DIFFERENT AND CITI FOLLOWS THOSE LAWS STRICTLY. JUST TRYING TO HELP OUT! THANKS! :)

they called a few minutes ago and just let the phone ring for 2 minutes. If I did not disconnect the call I believe they would have just let it ring and ring until they needed to call someone els. I do not answer if you are on my caller ID or do not leave a message.

I get the same calls from a 336 area code, 972 area code, 847 area code, 585 area code, they are all Chase card services, at least the couple of times I answered that is what they said.  They call me an average of 11 times per day
I wrote a letter and sent certified mail, they signed for the letter.  I told them to cease and desist from calling any telephone number associated with me.
It is against FTC regulations, at least that was what I was told by an attorney who told me to write this certified letter.  I am now filing a claim with the Delaware Attorney General's office.  I am sick of it.

Solution to the Problem:
Call the same number and tell them to take your number of the system. They somehow had my number on the system although I had never had a Sears card. It's ridiculous. I'd suggest you not to buy of Sears anymore....
Hope it helps.

I thought it was against the law to call on a Sunday! They have called me 2 times so far today. I have paid all my payments on time and do not owe anything at this time!

If they keep calling me I will be filing a complaint!

336-522-8998 or 336-522-8999   same people  calls several times a day
This is citi card  that handles the sears credit cards.  I have my card on an eft monthly but they call in between.  seems they do not have a good tracking system to know who is paying and who is not.  I am on a special payment program because of my fiancial condition Usually I just ignore them because I am paying as agreed

I believe it's Citibank.  I've been getting calls about 2x a day.  Unless the laws have changed since I worked for a credit card company, they can call more than once a day (not sure how many would be the max number of times they can call per day), unless they actually get a hold of someone or if they leave a message (and I believe this is per account, so if you have 3 accounts with them they can call once per day about each account, if they discuss all accounts with you on that day, then they can't call again on that day) then they can only call the one time they spoke to someone or left a message.  They can call 7 days a week, it's perfectly legal, but they can only call from 8AM to 9PM in your time zone.  If they are calling your cell phone, you can verbally request that they not call you at the number again same with your work number, however to get them to stop calling on your home number, you would have to send a written cease and desist.  Be careful though, because a cease and desist can be seen as a refusal to pay and they are more likely to take legal acction (seek a judgement against you and put a lien on your property).

I've been receiving calls for over a month. I cannot find an address nor will they give me one, so I can't file a C&D.

File a complaint with the National Do Not Call Registry. Maybe if they get enough complaints there will be lawsuit action put against them.

They called back a fourth time, this time they asked for Sonya. She had my phone number over three years ago, before I bought this Virgin Mobile phone. I've never met her, but from all the calls I get for her I've gathered that she had some money problems. Seems like this IS a debt collector service.

Keeps calling my cell. Will not leave a message and name is unavailable. Would like for them to stop calling. Have no idea how my number was given to party. I don't give out my cell. I don't have credit cards with Sears, Home Depot. I do have Citibank but they contact me by email address and home phone. Since I am not in arrears with Citibank, they have no need to contact me.

no is not illegal to call on sundays. however. if you google fdcpa regulaions you will find all the laws they must follow. for ex they can only call form 8 am - 9pm YOUR time if they call past of before that time you can turn around on them and report them to the federal trade commision . sometimes you can even get a fcpa attorney and sue them for the entire balance or more.
good luck

Just called and got an answer. It is for certain Citi/Sears.
I dont have a credit card with either.
It was someone who gave my cell number as their number. She asked me if I knew a particular person, I do not.
Clearly it is collections, so if you do not have these cards, clear it up to have your number removed, otherwise they will continue to call you.

I am awakened in the morning by this call form this number--336-522-8998 and also calls other times everyday. Why -if it is already reported doesn't the responsible "Justice or arms of the law" take action on them? I don't owe these people anything--I don't even go near any Citibank or whatever.
