I am getting the same thing and I do not have a bank account or a credit card. I think they figure since most people do have credit cards and use banks that they are likely to get quite a few people who fall for it and give out their information. They just text everyone I guess and know they will find at least a few naive ones.

I got a text saying, Dear Mastercard customer your card has been locked. Call 3473383326 to unlock it.  Right away I knew this was bogus but called the number just to see what it said.  A recording comes up saying to enter your credit card number.  I hope no one falls for this.

They sent me a text that my Mastercard had been deactivated & that I should call them.  Of course I don't have a Mastercard so I knew it was a fake.

go to this website & report them, it links directly to the FBI, I'm sure if they're posing as FBI Agents, the FBI would want to know!

Been getting them all morning. Of course it's a scam whenever you get texts like this it's always someone trying to get your info. I'm just irritated as hell that they keep coming through and since my phone is unable to block when I place the blocks on the incoming text, most likely the carrier cannot do it from their end.

What I would like to find out is the common denominator amongst all of us that would shed some light on how these jerks got our cell numbers. How many people here at one time had a mortgage through Countrywide (if you didn't know there was an executive who took off with all of our info a few years back and CW tried to keep that very quiet). Zappos is another site that got hacked--but I ususally don't provide my phone number on those sites so I'm thinking it's not from that.

This is a scam.  These scammers put the cell phone numbers on  "autodialers" in hope that someone will respond to them with the card number.  Don't do it!  They will start charging your account.

these type of calls are common now adays.. best thing if you dont know the number calling or it loos like a scam it probably is and you shouldn;t ever call it back

there is an app for you android that allows you to block unknown mumbers by entering the number in question into the app you can block any number that you do not wish to receive calls from simply by entering the number into it

the app is called "call filter"  just install it to you cell phone and use it asnytime you get a call from a strange number.. its a blessing from heaven and it works like a charm Just search your Market for the app and good luck,

My cell phone was getting texts between 01/26/2012 and 01/28/2012.First call came in from 707-955-3042 claiming my H & R card was locked, then three from 347-338-3326 saying my 1st Midwest card was locked and then 2 more from 919-249-5382 saying my 1st Merit card was locked. Too bad for them I don't have any of these cards. Plus any decent bank wouldn't text you.

they texted me twice, once saying Dear Mastercard customer, your card has been locked, Call 347-338-3326 to unlock, then saying Dear First Merit customer you card has been locked, call 347-338-3326 to unlock.  All Baloney.  When you call the #, it says the mailbox is full.  What's the point of all this?

Just received a text from these people myself. Number sending the text was 1-510-872-5347. The message itself states "h-s-b-c-message please call 3473383326".  As I do not deal with banks, loans, or credit cards, and do all my business in cash, I find it hard to imagine that HSBC or any other bank would need to talk to me.  It is good to know I am not the only one being bothered by these people though.
