So is this dude in Malaysa or the states or somewhere else?  Is he dangerous or just a scammer?

So what does he want? Money? Is he actually in another country? It's funny because I just saw a story on Dr. Phil about Catfishing people like him. He's messaging me on FB right now, but I'm not an idiot and from the first message I knew he was a total scam. I'm not ignorant, I'm happily married and in a way I totally want to "scam the scammer" if you know what I mean. Play into his BS and make him think that he's got me on the line.  A**!!!!  His english is so broken and pathetic. How on earth does anyone fall for scams like this?

my story is basically the same except that his son is 12 and named Brian.
My red flags are always up so, I started digging. the photos he sent me of his"son" are actually photos of a kid on a friend of a friend OF MINE's FBpage.  I confronted him and he got irate about not being trusted.
lol. I also did some digging about this Malaysia thing. He isnt even good forger!
anyway, googling his name got me here.
Fortunately, I haven't been asked for money, but I would't give it even of I had it.I knew I was right about him!

He has a new number...Bevis Renard....3475687122...using a wonder jack ...same story, wife died 3 years ago 14 year old son...wanting to find honest wife...have exchanged emails, two phone calls...saw my picture on FB...thank God after a bad relationship, I google everyone I think I might date...
   Red Flag...accent...said he was from Italy, spoke fluent French...but sounded like Nigeria accent...

I to got emails from Richard Renard same story as most of you got about Malaysia. Wanted money because Hotel wanted cash not his credit card. I was lucky because I don't send any body money over the internet.
never heard from him until about 6 months later he sent me a email telling me he missed taking to me I didn't give an answer back so a couple months later he tried again and told me he put new pictures on the internet again I didn't answer guess he will keep trying . I feel sorry for you gals that were taken by him but no matter how lonely your are do not send money to anyone on the internet.

As I take care of my friend, I give the numbers she received to call this Patrick Renard,perhaps someone can find out who calls .Maybe someone can give these numbers to the authorities.

Secondly there are genuine people called Patrick Renard, and one of them has an offshore company for gasexploitation. So, these scammers did do their homework. Thank you everyone.

I, too got a fb-message from a certain scammer called Patrick Renard.
The message first went into my "other"folder on face-book and it would have been still there if my real friends did not send me Easter messages that also went into that folder.I sent him a short message and was surprised to get a long reply pouring out his heart..."his wife died from cancer, 15 year old son wants him to find a new wife.." the same well known stories. It sounded genuine enough for me to reply with my deepest sympathy for him etc. (LOL), stupidly telling him about my interests,my family.I thought that's it. Instead another message came along with photos and phone numbers...a loooong message again and again cluttered with grammar mistakes which I found irritating. Of course I did not give him my phone numbers... What the heck does he want? and who is this guy anyway? I happened to find out...and what I have had to read here makes sad reading! I feel sorry for those who went further....so please please don't be so gullible! It saves you a lot of trouble and money.

Good people, I too fell almost for this guy! Said he saw my profile and liked my picture on f.b. His name was Patrick Renard and as I looked I saw a handsome man. We corresponded for about one week and yes, all the previous things happend: the dead wife ,the contract in Malaysia, his son Richard. As I searched for more information, my alarmbells went very loud!!! Then I saw this page and thank you every one for saving me!!! I send him an email that said that I got a lot of friends visiting me as they went for their police training. Funny enough I never heard of this Patrick Renard again.So indeed I was almost scammed!. I'lll be much wiser next time and I have learned a lot of beeing so naieve.Thanks again every one and take good care.

He saw my picture (from wherever) and liked it.  WE corresponded for a few days.  His picture or the one he posted anyway was of a very handsome man.  Same story - widowed, wife died of breast cancer, son Richard is 17.  Said we was an engineer hoping for a contract.  Surprise, he got the contract and had to go to Malaysia for 4 weeks, then home for a while, then four weeks again in Malaysia.  Got permission from the school to take Richard with him.  Red flags?  Did not answer my question about Richard's passport, and then just before he "left", he emailed me a very amorous letter - almost to the level of pron.  That's when I decided to look on the internet.  Thankfully found this site.  He told me he was from Italy but I could hardly understand a word he said.

I, too have had contact from Nicolas Walton.   Same stories only different phone numbers for him (with Buffalo, NY area codes.  I almost fell for it, luckily I had checked with my bank first.  I tried Google and found a  77 year old Nicolas Walton in Brooklyn, NY, but none anywhere else.  It was interesting the second time I checked, I noticed that this guy in Brooklyn had changed his wife's name.  Surprise, surprise--it was my name in CAPITAL LETTERS.  I am totally disgusted about this guy.

This same man Nicholas Walton with a 16 yo son Richard has been emailing me and calling me , He told me he got permission from the school to take his son to Singapore since he has no family to leave him with.  I seached him on facebook and found his profile, Funny a woman has been commenting on all of his pictures and she seems to have more of  connection tht just a friendship!!   My daughter told me to seach him on google and I found nothing However a tad more concerned I kept serching and not surprised I stumbled upon this!!!!!!   I will be more cautious from here on out, or just remain happily single lol

How lucky for me that I did not fall for this guy, he told me his name is Nicolas Walton from Buffalo New York  his story sounded so genuine, he was just too good to be true, everything a woman would want in a man
I have been corresponding for around a week on AYR he gave me the same story he has told previously eg waiting for a contract to come through.

I have a friend in the US and I found her address on the internet so I decided to check his out too.... much to my amazement I was directed to this great site ..wish I had known about it last year when I got scammed by an US General John R Allen for $6000.00 Australian Dollars on Skype

So ladies or gents as it seems when you feel those alarm bells ringing take heed and run for the woods

That is the same name and address of the bank he gave me to send the monies for his and Richard's hotel room charges for 3 weeks.

On Oct. 19,2012  Nicolas Walton fave me and sent me a nice message thru Are You Interested web site on FB.  Practically almost the same story as yours "Expensive lesson to learn"  the only difference was his son's name is Richard 16 yrs. old.  He posted some good looking pictures of him and Richard on FB and i was smitten immediately as i speak. lol!  He declared on FB, that he lives in Buffalo N.Y.  He immediately told me about the contract that he was waiting and I prayed for him and his son.  So when he got the contract, he even posted a 3 copies for me to see. The next thing he said...I'm going to Malaysia to build a gas station and i should be back home in 3 weeks. and then go back again for 5 weeks. Due to my concern about his son Richard i immediately asked him about the kid, since he is in school right now. He told me that he asked permission from school to allow Richard to go to Malaysia with him. OMG! this man sounds so real.  When they arrived to Malaysia as what he told me on his email and phone calls, he said that they cannot get in to their hotel room due to strictly cash only and he needs $2,200.00 for 3 weeks rent...and the hotel people will not allow them to go into the room and him and Richard have to stay to the house of one of the hotel security personnel.  He gave me some name and address of the bank where i can transfer the money by bank to bank. I went to my bank, but before they will process the international transfer...they need a valid home address of Nicolas here in the states. So, I couldn't get the transaction done. I immediately emailed him and told him about the banks requirements, he called me on the phone very upset and called me a liar. I got upset with him as well, and hang up and turned my cell phone off. He called my land line phone but i didn't answer his call.  He sent me a long email full of sincere apologies and all kinds of sweet talking so i wind up accepting the jerk's apologies. lol!  You see, I am Christian...i believe that God can forgive so do I.  So we made up again and the next thing i know, he's telling me that the hotel people took Richard to the nearest hospital due to a broken knee calf...and will not get any treatments from the doctor until someone from the state will promise to send $1,900.00 as initial fee for the doctor...they will not give Richard any antibiotic and pain medicine until i promise to send that money.  I spoke to the doctor and Richard and they all sound legit.  So there goes my $1,900.00 This time, these swindlers uses a Bank in Utah under a female name as a customer of the bank. I have not heard from him yet at this moment. I know he is going to make me feel bad but i have the strength to give it back to him.

I also found him on dating site asking for money hes in malayia at this time according to him I have his acct # the code for bank is noresah binti ali cimb bank bhd..wisma genting branch #28 jalan sullan Ismail50250 l             kalia lumpur malaysha lets get this guy  he uses his son also named richard probalbly not his real name and in scam with him

Nicolas Walton called me on Oct 2, 2012. Said he had not been on internet for a while to check his messages. Son encouraged him to go on Match because it was time for him to date again. Son Michael 16 yrs old. Wife died 3 years ago breast cancer. Lives in Brooklyn,N.Y. Was hoping for contract. We prayed together that he would get it. My prayers worked! He got the contract.Only it was in Malaysia and he had to leave in three days. No time to come visit. He got to Malaysia and credit card was frozen for 3 days. He and Michael out on the street, it's raining, The hotel wouldn't let him in the lobby . I sent him $1500. to get them off the street. When he met with the job contacts and rented the machinery and the paid the 30 people that would work for him he was $6000.00 short. If he didn't get it he would lose everything I said no . He got angry we fought. Then he called the next morning. He had solved our problems. He had someone who would lend him the money but it had to clear through my account for some reason. I got the name of the person sending me the money and the account number called the police. Now He says I have his money and he knows where I live and both of my phone numbers. Says I won't get away with it. says I am a criminal woman. What an expensive lessons. A mistake I won't make again.
