My girlfriend started getting calls from this company a few days ago. Same scenario as everyone else - we are going to serve you papers, never show up. I started doing my own digging and came across their website at http://www.eisenburgwhitmancca.com. It's down at the moment, hopefully for good. The site is dodgy as hell. On it, there is a link marked as "Testimonies". They mean testimonials, not testimonies. One of the 'testimonies' is from Mr. Albert Wells. Mr. Wells thanks them "For all their help and support with helping me getting my credit repair and getting me headed, back on the path of financial independence". There is also a picture of Mr. Wells. Except, it's not Mr. Wells. It's John Dramani Mahama, the current president of Ghana. Here's the exact photo they use - http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:John_Dramani_Mahama_UNDP_2010.jpg

Not only are they dumb enough to use the picture of a world leader as a testimonial photo, they don't even bother with an obscure picture of him, but one used in Wikipedia articles.

This number called me and I answered. Woman stated they had papers to serve me and asked if I would be home, I asked who  company was that filed against me and was told she could not disclose the info . I asked in what court would the case be and she stated she  could not disclose info. If you are going to serve someone, you don't ask what time someone  would be there. The sheriff office just serves them amd if you can't tell who  filed agauinst you and what it is about, it is  bs. They go by name Eisenberg Whitman and Associates. When tried to call back it said non working number so that says to me it is a scare tatic

First, I received a call from a "N Shore Bottling" @ 347-394-1633 and was told they had legal paperwork I needed to be served the following day between 9am and 4pm and they were just trying to confirm that I would be home to receive it.  Then, they told me if I wouldn't be home or needed additional information, I should call 855-213-0318 and give them the reference number they provided.  They said it was for Isenberg, Whitman & Associates.  I called this number and provided the reference number where they proceeded to tell me they couldn't discuss anything with me without me providing my social security number.  When I refused to provide this, they hung up on me.  I called back and was immediately put on hold by the same lady with a comment that she had already told me they needed my social to give out information .... without me saying anything at all.   After 10 minutes or so on hold, I hung up and called right back where she proceeded to again tell me I could just hold .. again without me even saying anything.  A third time, I called back and told her before she could that I had information for her and it was this .... if anyone shows up at my house tomorrow, I will call the police and if you have any legitimate paperwork for me (very doubtful as they used a name I haven't had in over 11 years) to send it via the USPS, Fed Ex, or UPS.

What a coincidence. Not an hour before there was a call (which I answered because it implied it was local), and they said they were University of Phoenix asking for someone who used to have this number ten years ago. Hint - they were deadbeats and my number is attached to them. Meh. Block. Move forward.

If I spent the majority of the day logging complaints to the DNC list I wouldn't get anything done. I just block them now.

If this is what I think it is, dont answer the phone and if you do just hang up. It is a SCAM. I have been dealing with this mess for YEARS! Just when I think they are going to leave me alone, they start again. They will eventually get rude and nasty with you. I have had them curse at me and everything. They will tell you it is an important legal matter and that they will serve papers and ask if you will be home at a certain time. They will threaten to put you in jail blah blah blah. Bottom line is they dont do anything but annoy you. They want you to give them money to resolve the matter. They are sitting overseas somewhere and their job is to give you as much hell as possible until you give in. Just dont answer.

received phone call from that number asking if I would be home tomorrow between the hours of 9-4 when asked why she stated to serve legal documents for a lawsuit against me and when asked from who she said I would need to call this number with this reference number and ask them I called the number she gave me and it did sound like the same exact lady from the first phone call....gave her my reference number and she stated she would stop the action against me if I would settle my debt from hsbc  in the amount of 1500.00 dollars and she could accept no less than a 100.00 today and pymt arrangements after...so I told her I would have to look at my funds which I did have a hsbc card back in 2008 which I thought was settled but not sure so she said she would give me only 24hrs to call her back if not she would have them proceed with the serving of papers ....i tried to call that number back today to talk to her and found it was not a legit number and cant find the number she gave me...it wasn't until i looked up this number and found this site with complaints ...i now don't know what to do i don't want to be served papers... nor pay court fees if this is a real company????

Received a call from this number today. No message left, and I did not pick up when I don't recognize the number. Though I do have some credit debt and student loans nothing is behind. Being that no message was left, I am going with it being a scam.

This in fact is Portfolio Recover

This is a Collection Agency for Capital one, Macys JC-Penny and Department other store Affiliates. What they do is buy old credit card debt and recycle it even though it's been written off or past the time line limitations.
They are the scum of debt Collectors.
They want me who's been totally disabled and on SSI of $633.00 to pay them 1/3 of the balance of $1400.00 of a card which was written off back in 1997. I told them I have no money but they could have my dog, the girl on the line said a dog is not money. I said that's all I have left in my world. And she kept saying I could pay $20.00 a month, I said I can't even afford the postage to mail you a money order. She laughed and hung up.
No commission for her today from me..

This is a collection agency. They like to call the debtor's family members. They aren't legally allowed to tell you that they are a collection agency unless they are trying to collect a debt from you. E.g., if they are calling for your brother Bob, they can't tell you that they are a collection agency because it would be violating Bob's privacy rights.

You can safely ignore them. If you tell them that the call is being recorded, that you know they are a collection agency, that you do not want them to contact you again, then they won't call back. It is illegal for them to continue to contact you after telling them to stop.

Ive been getting bombarded by phone calls from a robo caller.  The person says he is Brother Manassas and then i hang up.  So much so i blocked the call on my verizon site.  Then the annoying 'prophet' got a second number.  The first number was 800 203 0028.  The second number was 347 394 5425.

1. Always take down all the information they give you. Names, phone numbers, case #s, and also note the day and time of the call.
2. Do not give them any information period!
3. Check your credit report on a regular basis and place a fraud alert with a number to contact you if anyone tries to get credit in your name.
There are a lot of fraud rings out there that go to great links just to get a few hundred bucks.

Don't be concerned at all with these calls.  They are fly-by-night collectors trying to scare people into paying off debts that they don't have or ones this agency doesn't have any authority to collect on.  They will tell you that they want to confirm your address so that they can deliver legal papers today and will then call you two days later with the same story.   Unfortunately, they cloak their phone numbers to show false locations on caller ID.  If you don't answer, they will give up in a week or two.   Not much the authorities can do because they move around and use different phones.

I had a call from this number today and was doing research since I did not recognize this number. From what I read this is a company or individual that is violating 15 U.S.C. 1692 Fair debt collection practises act and could be subject to civil liability. It ought to be interesting if I ever get to speak to someone from this number,  I may just turn the tables around on them because I can since I know the law and have spent many in a day in court defending people that have been harrassed by the likes of these or this individual or company.
For those of you that have been harassed by this entity, I suggest you call your state attorney generals office and file a formal complaint against them, especially if you are on a no-call list. Good luck!
