Mom got a call and the man with an accent sounded so sincere that she answered all his questions about banking numbers and routing numbers. Second call today telling her that her new Medicare card will arrive in 3-4 days. We spent most of today changing her bank accts and secureing her money. We did report it to the police and got a claim number. Now contacting Equifax and credit reports will be reviewed.

Just received a post card from our health care provider that these calls from 347-418-0487 are a scam. Do not engage them in conversation just hang up!!  Never give out any personal information over the phone!

I'm 22 and I own a salon, and this number has called me 2 times today. They don't leave a message, so it must not be too important.  I didn't answer either time, but after reading the posts on here I don't think I want to. I don't understand how people can be so evil preying on senior citizens. It's disgusting; It makes me sick to my stomach.

person called my home 3 times today. I said hello, they hung up.

woman called with an Indian accent telling me that my new medical card was ready and that I needed to verifyaddress and  my bank.

Need better phone blocking

This was a strange phone number that is not local etc and when they said it was the Medical Office I thought it was some type of subcontractor who might do secrateral work from home or whatever and was calling about tomorrow.  When I asked for their name and credentials they hung up.  Didn't speak English too well either.  Glad I saw you stuff on Google...

We received a call from this number at 09:56 this morning for my mother-in-law who lives with us.  She was given the same story and was asked to provide her bank information for verification.  She also hung up on them.  I see that calls from this phone number with this same scam has been going on for some time now.  Apparently no one thinks it's important enough to investigate and shut down.

Some man with a thick accent  stated he new medical card for senior citizens but needed my bank information told to go         Himself and he hung up notice in background sounded like a phone bank with lots of people. Talking or scamming people7

A man who barely spoke English called my elderly parents yesterday and mom answered the telephone.  He was requestijng her Medicare number and the name of the bank. I have trained them not to give any info to anyone over the phone and not to open the door to anyone, even if with uniform.   The telephone number shows up in the caller ID as Unknown with 346/418-0487.  When I called the number: "this number has been temporarily disconnected".  Mom lives in Miami Beach, FL

Caller said he had a new insurance plan and needed to verify her information.  He had her name and address and said he needed the name of her bank.  She refused and he hung up.

This phone number has showed up in my caller ID the past few days.  Yesterday I tried to call back the number but got a recording saying it was disconnected.  Today when I got the call from this number I decided to answer.  It was a woman with a foreign accent telling me I'd be receiving a new medical card in the mail (she confirmed my address) and that it was free to all seniors to cover all their medical expenses.  She then wanted to know the name of my bank. I lied and told her I didn't have a bank.  She accused me of lying.  I asked why did she need to know the name of my bank and she said it was for verification that I'm a United States citizen.  She kept insisting to know my bank name, I kept saying I didn't have a bank, she finally hung up.

Why don't we supply these scamers a contact phone number for the victim, i.e. like the proper authorities. or your local police??

2/20/2012 the same thing with my elderly mom, she gave them bank info, they said they were something from medicare. we called bank right away and got bank acct changed, I keep reminding her not to give any info out to anyone.  these are the scum of the earth taking advantage of the elderly.  by the way, she still gets calls from them. I am hoping she stays alert enough not to let this happen again.  I LOVE MY MOM TOO

Woman called, and then they said that All Seniors in America were getting a Medical card good for everything.

I received a call from this number. The man promised a credit card that would alow me to get a 80% discount. He asked for my checking account number and bank routing number. I'm glad I didn't give them to him.

Called my mother, wanted to know her bank name.  When I her this, I picked up the phone and asked what  he wanted and his response: 'Who the hell are you?'  I hung up and then they called again.

SCAM!!!!

Today we got three calls from this number and it is only showing on our caller ID as from New York, NY.....we didn't answer and they left no voice mail....we are on no call list...

Same story.  They got info from my 79 year old dada till my mom got on the phone and stopped it.  Why can't these guys be stopped?

Rceived a call early afternoon from this number. Did not know where to call and report. It was obvious when he asked for my bank name. (Why)? I said no and click on his end. I'm so happy I am still lucid and smelled a rat.

We received calls from this number before 8am asking about bank accounts and such.

I have recieved a call today....in fact 3 calls that I am aware of.  He asked for my husband and he died a year ago.   I had a phone call last year and it was a man who definitely had an accent and similiar type call.  He was bound and determined to have me purchase three hundred $$$ gift cards of sorts just for getting the money into the states as it had to come thru customs.  I smelled a rat... I called customs, the police, Olympia the Capital and asked for the congressman.. No one could help or do anything.  I thought that was pothetic!..  On this one I had a million dollars just being delivered to me.
I was told that what they do is purchase the throw away phones and they are not traceable.  

This is the same phone number 347-418-0487.  I have no idea what this charactor was trying to scam about.....???  Caller ID said NEW YORK.....

These folks just called me and because they called yesterday and this morning, I had checked these postings.  I was ready for them.  I was connected to a man in India who told me that I would be receiving a new medical card.  I told him that he was scamming me.  He insisted that he was not.  I told him not to call me again and hung up on him.  It remains to be seen if I hear back from them, but to everyone who posted before me, a big thank you to all.

The same caller called my mother. My concern was that they called her by her middle name and everything public is in her first name. Our phone number is in my father's name. How did they get that? I interupted and they hung up.

347-418-0487 called and wanted name & bank name for medicare card.  Hung up when I called #3474180487 what was aid was "Temporary out of service at this time.
