Got an email from this company call ACE Cash Service. I don't know who they are and they are also calling my phone number. We are tired of this crap.

Got email from ACC Cash Service. Say I owe them $800 I have to contact this number. I just want to made sure that they are SCAM.

It's a scam. Do not give your information to these people. Please be leery of random phone calls or emails from foreign individuals claiming you owe them money from companies you've never heard from.

I received an email with this phone number. I am really scared of this. What do i do? I am living in a homeless shelter n trying to get back on my feet n take care of all my past debt. Is this legit? What do i do?

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

Pretty simple approach on every phone call where they are demanding a payment:    Ask them to send it to you in writing - do not accept anything less.    If they don't already have your address, don't give it to them.      

I've read in other forums where people actually get scared enough to send money and find out later it was a scam.   NEVER EVER EVER send money if you can't verify who you are talking to and not until you have verified that the debt is valid AND that the company you are dealing with OWNS the debt.   Even then, you may want to deal directly with the original company if they haven't written off the debt.    

If they won't even tell you the name of the company, that should be enough of a red flag right there.    These people are trained to intimidate and scare you.   They are trying to get to your emotions - they know exactly what buttons to push.

One more thing - they called me on my mobile phone.   I never answer a call for a number that I don't recognize.  Sometimes it's legitimate.   If it is and it's important, they will leave a message.    I usually Google every unknown number before I even think about calling them back.    If you answer, they know that it's a valid number and will keep calling.   Ignoring them is the first line of defense.

Just receiveid a call on my cell phone from this number.  Man had such a  strong accent I couldn't understand a lot of what he was saying.  I kept asking to speak to someone I could understand.  He did say he would give me number to attorney who would explain to me.  I told him to have attorney contact me.  He  said I needed to call attorney.  I told him I couldn't as I was working.  Again I told h im to give me someone I could understand.  He hung up.

OK, you pegged it.  This offshore scam has been going for years.  Keep hanging up on them, and if they should contact anyone else regarding your "issue" just tell those people it's an extortion scam, and refer them to this website, as well as

Do not call them back, do not talk to them; actually, if you're in a position to do so, either blow a whistle in their ear, or push # and * repeatedly before hanging up on them.  You don't have to be a victim.

The same thing happened to me this Tuesday.  I'm baffled at how obnoxious this man was!

I got a call from this number on Tuesday 10/25/11and the guys had a heavy middle eastern accent.  He stated that I had a federal case against me and that he was calling from the attorney's office.  I hung the phone up on him and he repeatedly called my work number.  I have no idea how he got it.  Today I listen to my voicemails at work and again the same stupid guy saying that this is a time sensitive matter regarding the supposed federal case I have against me.  I think that if I was really wanted by the feds, no courtesy call would be made.  I'd be jailed by now.  Really?!?!  Some people just don't have anything better to do.

I WENT THROUGH THE SAME THING...THIS GUY THAT WENT BY "DENY DAWN" WITH AN ACCENT AND WAS SAYING IF I DON'T PAY BY TOMORROW THAT THE SHERIFF OFFICE WAS COMING TO MY HOUSE TO ARREST ME SAYING I HAD 3 AFFIDAVITS FILED AGAINST ME I'VE BEEN GOING THROUGH FRAUD ALREADY AND I JUST WENT CRAZY WITH THEM TELLING ME I MIGHT GO TO JAIL. THE MAN WAS VERY VERY RUDE AND NOT COMPASSIONATE AT ALL SAYING THAT HE DID NOT CARE ABOUT WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH ME. WHAT A B*****D.

Decline their calls! They enjoy harrassing hard-working Americans! Don't play into their hands! They CANNOT do anything to you simply because their threats are the basis for their SCAM!!!

OMG! I've been getting the same calls too and it's the same as eveyone else's story...wow what a trip....It sucks cause you're a paying tax payer and a citzen to the state and not a single protection from s*** like this.....but every one behinds bars get all the protection they need from this country...what's wrong here? can any tell me....

Person with accent called and left a harsh message for a person of another name and the importance of her contacting this number or her attorney.  I made the mistake of calling back and now I am afraid I have made a terrible mistake!! What should I do?

I the know this is a scam. I will be turning in this number for WFI,Group Inc into Better Business  Bureau  and if necessary  the law itself.

I've been getting calls from this number all week. Only difference is their telling me that i owe them from a cash advance. Yes sir they new the last 4 digits of my ss#, bank acct. address  work number. They have gone so far as to call my job requesting to talk to my supervisor. She google the number, and yes it is a SCAM. we reported them to the FCC(federal,communication center)

This is an offshore debt collection extortion scam that has been going on for at least five years. The FBI knows about it but does not have the money or manpower to go after those involved. All they are doing is maintaining a database of complaints: www.ic3.gov

man with accent called my wife, knew her last 4 of her ssn, said there was a lawsuit against her. Anyone heard of this?
