They sent a check from Dewberry Consultants LCC

My daughter got the same call to babysit Carl in Portland for three months. Same sorry as she has been telling everyone else. She sent a  check for 2950.00 instead of 500.00 for toys to get ready for her son to come. Called the company on the check. These people have been sending out hundreds of checks all around the US. They want you to cash them imediately and get toys. As soon as you cash the check the say their plans are changed and to send them the cash and toys which the have. A site to resell on ebay. Then when the check doesnt clear the bank takes the money out of your account to cover what you spent. She wants you to contact her by email because the police say that no one has jurisdiction over the internet. Its fradulent to to it over the phone. Take the check to the nearest police station and have them document that you destroyed it in front of them and had then throw it away. Oh and dont ever give your SS # or bank account number to any online site because anyone can get the info.   Make sure all sites you deal with say https: instead of http: that means there secure sites.

I got a message from "Laura Keys" at this number. She wanted me to watch her 2 year old son "Carl". She offered to send me money for expenses plus $500 up front. I was instructed to send the money for expenses to a person on eBay. I need a real nanny position, this is really frustrating. She said she found me on Care.com, but I'm not registered there.

Received a call at 5:30 in the morning and being unemployed got excited only to find this post about it being a scam. Thank you for the warning.

Pretty Confused as to what exactly is going on and why someone would be using anything todo with children to run Scams on people.

I got a text from this number too this morning! It so obviously sounded like a scam! This is what it said!

I can only keep it going for so long before they know I know about the scam please contact me asap so maybe we can catch these people. This kind of stuff really makes me mad i dont want them to get away with it.

She just texted me with the same message!

I replied to a text message also saying that they had a Nanny job for me from this cell:1347)6994374 but it was a woman this time named Joanne Wiebusch@yahoo.com

I got a text from this number b/c I recently posted my ad on oxl. It said she was a woman looking for care for her son& to get back to her via email.

I said "I will text u since u obviously have my # to text or call" and asked for the age of her child, what hours she needed& how many days.

She responded "yeah, get back to me via email for more details"

I responded "email a person who can't talk to me over the phone? No thanks."

So yeah u post to ANY site make sure it is an area code near your area before answering/calling back/texting back. But if it happens like mine did, where they text u then tell u to email them? Heeelllooo! It's fun to mess w/them to see what they say but that one made themselves obvious.

If any of you can fax copies of the checks to 225-243-7931. These are fake checks with my business account number on them. Thank y'all very much!!

I posted an add on craigslist too and I got this email on the same day I posted the add.
Felt like it is a scam and I searched that email address and I found this page... What the heck..!!!!

I posted an ad on craigslist offering babysitter services and got a textvfrom this number too (347)699-4374.

"Hi its ms margaret SCHREIBER from craigslist, I just viewed your and there is a job for you. Looking for a babysitter/nanny for my son clark. Send me a reply on margaretscheriber@yahoo.com for details. Thanks."

I already felt in my gut this isn't legit so I looked it up and whad'ya know?! These people are sick.

I got the same message and waited to the get said check in hand at which point I contacted the police department of the city in which I live and was told that they could do something about it only if I cashed it or was otherwise hurt by the actions of this person. So; no victim, no crime.

No wonder scamming is popular! I am curious to know if anyone has cashed this persons check. If you did you should contact your local police department immediately because it seems to be the only way to get an investigation started!

I put a babysitting ad on care.com and I got a text from this number
And in the text it asked me to email the email address. So I did. But nothing adds up. They don't live in ct herand her son jed live in new york. Oh they'll send me a check.. weird help..

I still don't understand who this person is and what they want and why they are bothering me. I showed the email to a friend and family member and they said that it just seemed to be auto corrected...but now after reading these reports I am scared because I did give him/her my address...

First I got an email from this freak and I said to leave me alone. A few hours later I got a text from a weird number. I knew right away that it was a scam. So I told "Cameron" off and told not to text me either. If he contacts me again I will take it to the cops or whoever I have to. I want a job, not to get harassed or scammed.
