I received the same call just now, a man said he wanted to find "Michael", and asked my name, I hanged up right away for I realized this could be a scammer.

For the last several days I have received repeated calls from this number. I don't answer and waste my time or phone minutes on unknown callers. SO far, no message left. I hate scammers! This came after I got a bunch of calls from someone trying to get me interested in graduate schools so maybe that's where they got my number? The one call I took from those guys was just pathetically obvious Indian rotocallers.

I just received the same call, left a message stating they are "Good at designing websites and web technologies".

This number called me today with a completely different kind of scam. They have been calling for days, so I called them back and point blank demanded to know who they were. Someone with a middle eastern accent claimed they were some kind of technology company, claimed I had contacted THEM for some kind of service with Google Ad Words. All false. I told him to take me off their list. I am sure they will be calling back shortly.

These stories above all sound like, what just happened to me. This company DCA LAWFIRM has been calling and leaving threatening messages on my phone all week. I called them today, it was a middle eastern man with a pretty thick accent, he said I took out a payday loan and never paid it back. Now I am wanted for stealing, fraud, money laundering etc. This was the first time I was hearing of this. I asked to speak with someone that I could understand better. I was put on hold, and then another person came on the phone that had a different name but sounded like the exact same man. They said if I didn't pay at least 50% of what I owed then a investigator, sherriff, and court official would come to my house tomorrow morning to arrest me and bring me in front of the judge. I am alone with a 3 yr old son, he told me that CPS would take my son until the matter was resolved !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So now I am really freaking out. I asked for a company website and he said that it was confidential and he wasn't allowed to give it out. I asked for the dates that I suppossedly took this money and he didn't have accurate dates, he just said it was from a long time ago. I tried to call the phone number he gave to me 718-842-6472 and it just rings, but then he will immediately call me back from a blocked line. These people now everything about me, name, birth date, last 4 of my ss#, old addresses, where I used to work, my old supervisor etc. Oh and they can only take payment in the form of an electronic funds transfer. So scared called my husband at work, he started laughing. I know it sounds silly to most, however I am scared. Even if it is a scam- they have all my information !!!!!!!!! I have a very close friend that is a NYC cop. I called him and he even said that according to NYS law the things that they said couldn't happen. eventhough I have been reassured I am still scared and shaking. I hope that this information will help someone and no one else falls for this b***s*** !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I live in the UK.  We constantly receive calls from Indian sounding scammers about loans, debts, switching heating, switching telephones.  When I receive a call from an Indian sounding person, I give them a few seconds to come to the point, if they dont, I hang up.  These people are scammers all over the world and if they call you, dont enter in to a conversation, give them no information, confirm nothing, just hang up.

These guys change their number every so often.  They most recently called from 646-543-5172.
This guy with an Indian accent (James Henry) called my cell phone and work phone claiming that i took out a payday loan and didn't pay it back.He said he need the contact information for my attorney on record.  Since I know I didn't owe any money, I got really agitated and told them that I am reporting this number to the FCC and FBI.  I asked him where they were located and he said 42 Broadway in New York.  I had him repeat the address a few times b/c i couldn't understand him.  Then he had the nerves to say, "Dont you speak English".. LOL.  I told him that he had a very thick Indian accent and couldn't speak English right and then I began to tell him that I would not give him any money to fund his terrorist activity.  He hung up.

I called the number again, and asked to speak to James Henry.  Then I told him that I don't need an attorney and because I was one (even though I am not) and started to tell him off.  I told him that I'm having his number investigated by Homeland security.  He hung up.  Then i called by about 20-30 times (literally) and every time I called they would hang up right away or pretend that it's an answering machine that is picking up the phone.  when I did get someone on the phone, I began to order some Indian food like chicken tikka or chicken masala just to piss them off.

I might sound racist but i'm not.  My wife is Pakistani and I have lots of Indian friends that I went to college with or am currently working with.  I know that Indian people are good people.  This handful of crooks are making them look bad.

I received a call from a man stating he was working for this DCA Law Firm. It is a scam when they call from this phone number as it is a New York phone number. I have contacted the REAL DCA LAW FIRM, and they are aware of these scammers using their name to harrass and threaten people to try and collect on a fraudulent payday loan. I gave the perason I spoke the information I had and told her that the phone number I was given was a working number and the scammer could be contacted.

I will be sending the Federal Trade Commission a list of all the scammers who have been calling me on my work phone and personal cell phone.

The Washington State Department of Financial Institutions has received complaints from consumers regarding DCA Law Office contacting consumers at their home and work telephone numbers regarding supposedly delinquent payday loans.

In some instances, the consumer has never even applied for any kind of payday loan. In others, the consumer applied online for a payday loan but withdrew the application or it was denied. Subsequently, the consumer starts receiving collections calls.

The representatives who call on behalf of DCA Law Office make numerous and repeated harassing telephone contacts with the consumer, sometimes threatening legal action or police involvement unless the consumer pays the ?outstanding debt?. The callers are also reported to have contacted consumers? relatives or other references. These callers may identify themselves as attorneys, law enforcement officers (sometimes referencing a badge number), working for the ?Legal Department? or even the ?Cyberfraud Division.?

Consumers have reported that, in some instances, the caller has identifying information such as checking account information, social security information, and other nonpublic personal information. According to one consumer, the caller instructed her to fax information authorizing the payment of $1,200 to her credit card, including her credit card number, billing address, work phone, and a copy of her driver?s license. Requests to the caller to verify the debt generally result in increased threats, but the Department has been unable to locate an instance where the debt verification has been produced by the caller.

Consumers have reported that DCA Law Office is tied to various telephone numbers, including 631-772-9973 and 347-841-6902. Calls to these telephone numbers either result in a message indicating that the respondent is not available, or that the number is disconnected.

The federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act says debt collectors must send consumers a written notice within five days of their first phone call, showing how much the consumer owes and where the debt is from. The law says collectors can not say or even imply that nonpayment is a crime. Collectors can't call before 8 a.m. or after 9 p.m. Collectors are not allowed to speak to a consumer?s employer about their debt. They are prohibited from harassing or abusing consumers and they must stop calling if the consumer asks them to.

Report Violators

These kinds of contacts should also be reported to federal law enforcement authorities. You may contact the Federal Bureau of Investigation online: www.fbi.gov or by telephone: (202) 324-3000.

We also suggest contacting the Federal Trade Commission online: www.ftc.gov or toll free: 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357). Complainants have also had some success contacting their local telephone carrier?s nuisance department to stop calls.

If the caller has indicated they may know private information, such as your Social Security number, other account numbers, or contact information for work or other associates, you should take steps to protect yourself against identity theft. There is information on the FTC website about steps to take to protect yourself from identity theft, and what to do to protect yourself in the event you are a victim of identity theft.

Ditto....Don't listen to these jerks. I got four names "Allen Fuller", "Ron Warner", "Earl Griffin", and "James Henry". They verified the last four # of my SS, an address, employer, and bank. They said I owned $400 from a loan that I never received. They said that they were a law firm and they were the legal processor. I asked to speak with the attorney handling the "case", they said no. They said that I would be sued TOMORROW in DC court and judgement would be held against me for $5000.00. I asked "where is my notice?", "where is my complaint with proper service from the court?" they said I would get it. I asked how im being sued tomorrow you idiot.

Yeah these guys just called my work. This is the second time within a years time. They had the same call procedure as before. Confirmed last 4 of ss#, address, and employer. Also had old bank name and the name of one of my co-workers? Weird but I know they are just scammers. One called himself Chris Jackson, the other was Jeff Jones! How original. They both have the foreign accent and accused me of borrowing 300 dollars and then never repaying.  I was scared the first time they called a year ago, but now its just old bologna! Dont fall for this.

I just received a call from "Alex" at DCA Law.  I could barely understand him.  He asked for verification of the last four of my social and he had it correct.  I kept telling him I was having difficulty understanding him.  I kept asking him what this was about but I never got an answer on that.  He asked me if I had a lawyer.  I said no.  Then I started saying that this sounded like some kind of scam and he got mad and kept talking while I was talking and ended by saying that an investigator from his office would be at my work on Monday morning.  I am sure this is all a scam but now I am very worried because he had the last four of my social and wondering what I should do?

I have had several calls from this number and others like it.  It is ALWAYS a person with thick middle eastern accent.  One phone call, my daughter answered and told them I was not available.  They started harrassing her.  She put them on speaker phone and I got to listen as they threatened to RAPE her if she didn't put me on the phone.  There was other comments that were just as threatening.  I HATE these people and filed a police report.  I recommend every one do the same!!

this person has been calling me at home and work constantly.  leaving crazy messages that the police will be at my home.  first he was William Turner, today it was David Jones...these people are total idiots and I pray there is no one out there stupid enough to believe them OR give them any bank info.  I actually picked up and laughed at him and said - 'does this really work?"  then he got really nasty and it just made me laugh harder.  i told him to get a REAL job and learn to speak English before pretending to be American.  total a**hole  OH and they call from SEVERAL different numbers so when you hear him start - just laugh and hang up. LOL

I received a call that came across my phone as 0000 left a message saying i had to call back for a legal matter. I returned the call to 3478416902 the lady said her name was Nicole Allan and she was from a law firm from the Department of Corporate Affairs (googled it and its some company in India) representing Cash Partners of America stating I owe them court fees of $5,481 and that they would sent the police to my job on Monday (mind you they called me Friday night) to get me and take me to the court house. The company claims i got a pay day loan and they are sueing me and  I was charged with three things fraud, check deception and theft. The crazy thing is they knew my ssn, and my bank name. They couldnt tell me when I took out this loan or when it was put it into my account. All she kept telling me was that the police would come to my job but would never tell me what county my court case was in mind you they havent showed up yet.

Received call with threat of a law suit for money laundering etc from these folks.  Never heard of them before and never received call until today from them. David Jones with a foreign Indian accent.
