This number just called me; I didn't answer.  My two cents: any cold caller asking if there is a man in the house should be told "yes" before being disconnected.  A possible motive for wanting that information could be casing a residence for robbery.

Long pause, then a woman asked for something something Martinez. I said wrong number and she apologized and hanged up,

I have caller ID if I do not know the caller I don't pick up .. waaaay too many scammers out there and to call this time of the evening preparing dinner is rude!!!!!!!!!11

I have received two calls today from this number. Glad I found this board and know not to answer

I just got called and they never left a message.

Caller ID said 8012149297.  Strange.  Phone # was 1-360-339-5269.  They called on 10/17 at 7:07 p.m.  We didn't answer and they didn't leave a message.

Caller Id was 360-339-5269 and said "Olympia, Washington". Picked up the phone and just listened. 15 seconds later & said hello & somebody said "Hi, my name is Sam Jenkins with Call Research and have a short political survey". I hung up.

Me either - no idea.

What a goober!  My answering machine has the original, generic, out-of-the-box message -- clearly an answering machine.  I got home to a single message -- from this number.  A very perky female voice identified herself from "Call Research", asked if she could ask some questions, never took a breath and went on to ask if I was a registered voter.  Of course since she was talking to the answering machine, no one answered her question.  After a few seconds of silence she said "Hello?"  "Hello?", then disconnected.  Good spend of campaign contributions, not! ;-)

when this number came up on my caller id it also had 8012149297 where the name of the caller comes up. if a number i don't recognize comes up on the caller id i don't answer the phone, cannot be bothered with solicitation calls.

asked for the youngest male registered to vote....called after 9pm.  told them to take me off their list and never call again.

You know how at the end of a phone conversation you "hang up" the phone? Did you know you can do that at the beginning of a conversation, too?

All cold calls are scams. Period. End of story. You are hanging up on privacy-invading crooks, it's no big deal.

Man called asking if I would complete a survey. I said "Yes". He, then asked if there was a man in the house, over 18 years of age only, to answer the questions.

This is the SECOND time I have received a call from someone asking to complete some survey questions, and then wanting a MAN only.

Sounds like a political call to see if the registered voter at this address is a Democrat or Republican.

Long pause between when I said "hello" and when he started speaking.  Claimed to be Matt Connor calling from Caller Research.  I hung up before he finished.

waits for answering machine to finish, hangs on for 15 seconds, hangs up.

i think this is a 'spoofed number" or fake number
