It's fruitless to be asked to be taken off their call list.
The Do Not Call registry is similarly useless.
Their numbers are probably spoofed.
FIGHT BACK AND SAVE THE REST OF US MORE CALLS: WASTE THEIR TIME!
Have the following responses ready for "Credit Card Services":
Print it, clip it, and post a copy next to each phone. (You'll use it several times a week!)
This is the order of questions in their dialogue:
My current credit card debt: $16,750
My current interest rate: 14.5%
They ask if you are paid up, with current payments; tell them: YES
Give your Name: Gregory Fowler (He's Special Agent in Charge, F.B.I., Portland, OR)
(If they query your name/number, tell them you just got this "new" number).
If we get cut off, tell them "Call me back on my office phone": 503-224-4181 (Portland, OR F.B.I. office)
My billing ZIP code: 97201
(If they ask for your address, give your "office": 1500 SW 1st Ave, Suite 400, Portland, OR 97201))
Credit Card #: 4627 0519 4328 7147 (completely fictitious but satisfies the numerical check algorithm)
Exp. Date: July 2014
Soc. Sec last four digits: 0852 (made up, of course)
Bank issuing the card: "MBNA"
"800" number on back of the card: (Give one of these...)
800-225-5324 (National FBI Toll-free)
877-382-4357 (Federal Trade Commission-Telemarketing Fraud)
800-747-9069 (Executive Playmates)
865-256-2223 (California Girls)
800-691-8170 (New Jersey Asian Escort Service)
When they say, "Stay on the line while we check with your bank", hang up.
They'll call back within a minute or so. Don't answer! They know they've been jerked around.
This will help mess up their daily call quota, slow their pestering someone else, and #i$$ them off.
Have fun with the jerks!

I bought a Digitone call blocking device. Its a little pricy at $100.00, but I no longer have a problem with robocalls or telemarketers. The device stopped them cold. You can block individual numbers, area codes and you can even set up your own invited caller list, anyone not on the list can't get through. All they hear on their end is a busy signal. Best $100.00 dollars I ever spent. No more late night calls, no more dinner interuptions, no more unwanted calls period!!! I finally got fed up with the DNC list, it is not enforceable. My frustration and anger with the phone company doing nothing to resolve the problem was at the breaking point, until I found this great product. I am a very, very, very, satisfied customer. When these unwanted calls come in, my phone does not ring. The device screens for accepted calls and blocks all others. Check it out online. Don't continue to be frustrated and annoyed, just block them out. you will be happy you did...

Caller ID said "Financial Services".
To file complaints go to:
For fun, here is a site to get recorded phone messages to download to your computer, and then play when a telemarketer calls. For example, the message will tell them that their phone has been disconnected, or that they will be charged $1.50 for tracing a call, or that your phone automatically rejects anonymous calls.
Let's harass the harassers.

If you had listened to the sales pitch for a few moments, you could have posted something useful. We're all bothered; that's why this board exists, and why we come to try finding out who's behind various calls.
And why, when we have useful information, we come back and share it with folks who might want to sue the bustards.
If they're ignoring the DNC list, then we've got to work twice as hard to track 'em down and put a stop to 'em. Just listen to them; then you can help.

I monitor my calls and in the past have not picked up the phone for numbers I don't recognize. They keep calling so now I turn the TV up loud, pick up the receiver and lay it beside the phone. After several minutes it will start to beep meaning whoever it was has hung up. I'm hoping that will discourage these idiots and they will give up. Probably not but I enjoy my game. It would also be fun to pretend to be a small child and carry on a silly conversation with them. DO NOT CALL doesn't seem to work for these people so bite the bullet and enjoy harrassing them.

Have been getting these for over a year and from many different number and even on my cell phone. Even had 1 with the caller ID Ted Kennedy.
sometimes twice a day
Loud bells, buzzers, horns, whistle's and screaming haven't stopped the calls.
Try to keep them on the phone as long as I can to run up their phone bill
Might just try playing a long and giving them phony info to make them work for nothing

Received another annoying call from them. Seems like gimmicks don't work. Have contacted my cell phone carrier and they have blocked this number for me at no charge. I never answer calls from unknown numbers. If the call is for me then the caller will leave a message and I can call back.
| LizinVegas 2012-10-20 17:16:47 Unknown |
Unfortunately you were SCAMMED. Chances are you will NEVER see that lowered rate but you WILL see that fee deducted from your Visa. You should NEVER give out any personal information. If you want to restructure your debt then YOU need to make the initial contact.

Calling from Olympia, WA. A robocall stating that this is card services calling. I hang up almost immediately as I do not listen to any robocalls. Very tired of these constant calls.

I answered and a recording tried to sell me some credit cards. When I punched 1 and a human answered, he asked me how he could help. I asked him what credit card are you calling me about. He promptly hung up. I am on the DO NOT CALL list.

I got a call from this company a few weeks ago. They are helping me to lower my credit card debt by lowering my interest rate to below 3%. It cost me $899.00, which I put on my Visa, but they will lower that interest, too. Over the next 2 years, I should realize saving of over $3104.76. The guy that I dealt with is a pretty nice guy, but he has too thick of an accent to hear all of time, named Tobias Pahloosh. They are located in the State of Washington, but restructure the debt through banks in India. So far, I have seen no reduction, but he said that it takes 6 to 8 weeks.

These folks do use your IP addresses to get your home phone number, addresses, account information and various other personal information about you. By answering the phone when you are called you are opening yourself up to these people locating you in real time.
Call the FBI if you know their location and report them as illegal solicitors as the FBI may already be investigating them. Or, if you answer the phone and they try to do a sales pitch tell them that you have contacted the FBI and given them their phone number(s) to follow up on their organization. That should stop the calls and if not, do report them to the FBI.
| Cheryl 2012-10-19 21:26:55 Unknown |
State regulators won't do anything, tried that bought the T-shirt. Call the FBI and report the address(es) and the illegal activity. They will follow up. I located an illegal ring of men in Gandhi Africa that were posing as legitimate personal ads and then using pyramid schemes to get money from the elderly. Using your IP address is common activity to locate your name, street address, and then get into your accounts.
Better yet - don't use an answering machine and just let it ring off the hook when you see numbers you do not recognize like 1-800 or 1-866 numbers. After I dumped my answering machine all of the solicitors gave up.

got robo-call from 360-529-6807 on 10-19-12 @ 333 PM . Credit Card SCAM about lowering your Interest rates "There is nothing wrong with my acct, they sent several courtesy notices to my residence and this is my LAST chance to lower my rates b4 they close the books on my annual review". press 1 to talk to a Representative so I did. Guy came on and asked if "I wanted to lower my Interest and if I pressed 1 " I said "Yes" He asked "can U verify who I am talking with" So gave him a fictitious First and Last name. He asked a bunch of questions about how many cards with what Bank, with what balances and what rates. Gave him a bunch of FALSE INFO. He then asked me for the toll free number on the back of one of the cards. I said "Sure I can get my wallet just hold", So thought I would change things up on this guy and not give him the "SCAMMER HORN". Since it was a Guy, I loaded up one of my British Raunchy little youtube diddys and got back on line. A minute or so later I asked him R U there I got the card!! He responded and said "Yes I am here" So gave him the Raunchy Song full blast and he was gone b4 the song even ended. Wont stop with the "SCAMMER HORN or my other music deterrent" until they quit calling!!
