Have received calls from this number over the last week.  They say they are computer techs that work with Microsoft and they know my computer has a virus.  Since we just moved to another state and no computer is associated with our new phone number yet, I know they have to be scammer.

It was very difficult to understand the caller. He asked for my deceased husband, I tried to find out who and why he was calling. He said something about Horizon BCBS, and tried to verify his name and address. When I finally got through to him that he was deceased, the caller asked for me. Again tried to verify my address. I told I wanted to know how Horizon had my husbands name. He then said he wasn't from Horizon, but worked for some company, didn't get the name, but in association with insurance and asked if I had insurance or was interested in obtaining or getting more from my insurance company. I told him I wasn't interested and he hung up.  I get these types of calls from different numbers that come up on my caller id as different cities and states, I know they are all the same and answer them now. Sure enough, they start off asking for my deceased husband. I did put myself on the do not call list, I will have to do it again. And I do Not use Ebay.

I do not know this number.....but they keep calling.  I think it's a scam.  I want them to not call me again.  They are a nuisance!

I have been plagued with calls from 385 313 3974.  Had to add to blocked list.

Melissa do you work for an eBay competitor? You always have the same reply, over and over and over. Just drop it and quit. Wasting everyone's time. And no I do not work for eBay or any other online sales org.

Thanks for all the posts! Just got a call from this number and by the time my son picked it up to rip them a new a-hole, they'd hung up. Utah on caller ID.  Seems like the "F" word is one English word they can pronounce perfectly!  Slime balls.

I got a call from the 385-313-3974 Utah number on my business phone. They called and immediately  hung up. It was followed by a call from 213-205-6676 from California. Same thing, one ring and hung up.

These idiots keep calling my number 4 and 5 times a day. I don't answer,hoping that they will stop but they call every day, it is really annoying. STOP HARASSING PEOPLE! Get a real job and go to work. People get tired of stupid foolishness.

None of the callers have been offensive thus far.  Try calling FTC Scam Hotline, (877) 382-4357.  They will provide instructions.

I got a call from this number tonight.  Man barely spoke english.  Middle Eastern accent.  Told me he was with Windows and my computer had been hacked.  He wanted to help me and go straight to my computer.  We've had these calls before.  I asked for his name and number to call him back.  Then he said he wanted to F--- me!  He didn't even sound like he knew what it meant.  Then he said he just wanted one night to F--- me.  Who do you report these calls to?

My sincere thanks to all of you.  Your posts have been wonderful input.  Yes, there are scams galore out there.  Spoke with Verizon's Unlawful/Nuisance Call Center.  Recommended that we do not encourage these types.  Whether you press "3" or "9" or any number, you give them hope of contact and they continue to call.  They do not leave VM.  Recommended calling FCC in order that positive investigation might yield leads.  Said that FCC would take information and tell you what to do.  These are overseas callers.  Difficult to trace.  Representative stated his own experiences.  Sometimes, while attempting to trace, report will generate that "Call cannot be returned, number is out of service area".  "Card Member Services" checks in almost daily.  Missed two days, phone was quiet.  Wow!  Received my requisite "Final Notice" today at 4:38PM.  "Carmen".  Sometimes "Brigitte".   "Rachel" must be on vacation.  Two of these mystery calls have come through Pittsburgh, PA.  Can receive as many as five mystery callers per day.  Keeping track of all this - fascinating.  DO NOT give these people ANY personal information.  Some time ago had interesting conversation with CMS representative.  She insisted that I provide credit card numbers.  Told her that, if she was referred by credit card companies, she should have all necessary details.  Said she was not given that information.  Continued interrogation a few more minutes, asking which Credit Card Service (answer, all!), before ending call.  Since most of you probably have cell phones, be very careful with this one.  Someone will call your cell and hang up.  You might be expecting a real call so you return.  You will be charged $25 on your statement.  These people do use computers to dial series of numbers for them.  If picked up there is silence.  Sidenote, you must yell into the receiver so computer can hear and connect you!  lol   Did this once and, sure enough, a live person came on the line.  These characters really don't bother me.  Real callers know how to connect.  What IS extremely nasty is the fact that, while expecting a real call, you pick up one of these "phantom callers".  Not  nice!!  The good news:  There are people such as yourselves out there and the phantom callers know that we know who and what they are.  And - we can find and report them!  Just a matter of time - tick tock, tick tock.  Stay well everyone and, again, thank you so much..

jim you picked up the phone - now you have a friend for life - he will go out of his way to call you - all he needs is another number - only way to avoid these people is not answer - if it is important like you are expecting a call from the president then answer - the rest of the world of unknown numbers get to meet voice mail - and make it obnoxious as you can -  "you have reached so and so if you need to reach me immediately " long pause - very long pause - then give them the number to the local police dept

I never shop on e bay and these clowns still have my number - they feed all the numbers in one area into a predictive dialer and route you to a sales associate if you pick up - other wise your number keeps ringing and ringing and ringing - report the number to do not call people - it might go away but I doubt it

I keep receiving calls from this number claiming to be from a tech support service PC/Microsoft Support Plaza. The man had a heavy accent with the name Tom. He claims that my pc has been hacked and I need to get on my computer and grant him access to my computer to fix the problem. I don't even own a PC.

Just called me. I never answer these calls. this number is from Salt Lake City,Utah. I don't know anyone in Utah. Stop Calling MY House!

I just got called from this number and I've never purchased anything on eBay.

caller left message... very difficult to understand but the caller "John" claimed to be calling from the internal revenue service and that my attorney should contact them at 202 506 9142  as soon as possible.  I looked up this number and it has been slated as a scam that tries to get people to pay them for a debt they do not owe.  The IRS does not make phone calls for collections.. I know this for a fact ... they will send certified letters (and many) if you are being audited or owe back taxes... AND if they want money  they WILL track your bank account via your social security number and they will levy and take the money straight from your account if you do not respond to their certified letters.  This caller, called three times in one day.
