I got the same text message asking me to clean his house for $300. When I asked if I could meet him in person, he did not reply. He said the house was located in Masson City Iowa. I have not received any check yet, I have a posting on Craig's list to clean houses and thought that maybe this was legit at first, but than something told me this seemed weird, I did not give him my street address, only my P.O. box. Do I take the check to the police if I get one?

Take the check to your bank and tell them you believe it is a fraud. Bring all the information on who sent the check and where to send the money with you. See if they can contact the appropriate authorities to investigate and hopefully arrest this con artist.

Person, who use this number contact me via sms and offer me cleaning job at his house in Fontana CA 2 times a week and he send me check for $2500 with instruction " you are to deposit the check at your bank accout and then deduct $300 for yourself and send the rest money to my painter to paint the house and you would start cleaning on Friday". I refused do that because I figure out that it is fraud. The check was send by company Karmart Motorsport Inc. 1851 Bouslog Rd. Burlington, WA 98233 : bank Whidbey Island Bank, 1800 S Burlington Blvd. , Burlington, WA 98233. Please be careful and watch this person!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
