Someone claiming to be from Cox Communications calling with an Internet special deal. Cox never calls me and invalid number per their website. Will not be calling who ever this is back.

The same happened to me.  I responded to an ad on cars.com for a 2010 Mercedes S550 full-option with 28,875 miles for only $36,999.  This vehicle currently retails right at $67,xxx.

The response to my inquiry said;

I appreciate your interest in buying my car. The mercedes is in perfect shape, never been smoked in, without scratches nor dents, and it has never been involved in any kind of accidents. I legally own a clear title, free of any liens or loans,under my name. It has 28,875 miles, for sale at $37,000. The price is below the market as I recently divorced and I don't own a driver's license, therefore I don't need it, so I'm trying to sell it as soon as possible. If you have any other questions, or need more info, please feel free to ask.

same folks are at it on craigslist as amber zimmer.  I responded to an ad on cars.com for an '09 silverado loaded to the eyeballs with 42,xxx miles for only $16,299.  This vehicle currently retails right at $30k.

These scammers were trying to scam people on craigslist indianapolis, indiana back in the middle of September. They were supposedly selling a Winnebago motorhome. After two emails with them things just didn't add up or seem right. Glad I passed up on the deal because they don't have any of the items they advertise it is just a scam to get money from people. Someone should try to stop them. The number she told me to call and talk to her husband for details was 402-557-0226 and her email was carla.fl.1970@gmail.com   If you find anyone using this phone or email beware they are scammers!!!

Found a deal on a 2008 polaris 800 efi Quad for 2500 bucks on craigs list, been getting e-mails from a Melinda and told me to call her husband at the number you have all gave in omaha. Happy I did my checking also to find its a scam..  10-15-2010

And suprise suprise!  A 2003 John Deere 4110 with loader, backhoe, deck mower AND trailer for only $2,400.  

The rest of the message was identicle to others, including the 402-557-0226 Omaha NE phone number.

Like everyone else, I saw an ad for a 1995 Holiday Rambler 34 foot motor home on my local Craigslist page.. I knew immediately it was too good to be true and figured it for a scam. I showed the ad to my youngest son, 27, and said that I was going to respond to the ad just to see what response I got. We noted the timeand within about 6 hours, I got the first response. It was just the same wording as the rest of these people got. I showed it to my son again and said I was going to ask where it was located and how to contact them to see it. Within an hour, I received the same response as these other posters got. It was in Omaha, Ne and she gave me the phone number listed here. What they did not know was that I had alread found out it was a scam and knew what wording I would be getting. I was right. This morning I got the last message and it said the same thing as the rest of these messages. My son was amazed that these people could do this and get away with it. I then explained what everyone on here already knows-If it looks too got to be true, it is probably a scam. So, this was a very valuable learning experience for my son. But, unlike some of the people on here, we did not loose anything. But we got a laugh out of it anyway. Again--DON'T SEND ANY MONEY UNLESS YOU HAVE SEEN THE ITEMS!! If the seller refuses or gives you anything other than the truth, DON"T DEAL WITH THEM!! Turn these pieces of sh*t over to Craigslist and ask them to investigate. Notify the authorities in you city and ask that they be investigated. A lot of cities have a unit that investigates internet crimes and scams. Obviously, this is a huge scam going on all across the country. Your local case would just be a small piece of the overall crime, but it is these small pieces that get the attention of the Federal people and they are the ones that will track down these fuc*ing scammers and lock 'em up!! And, hopefully throw away the key! When it comes to business dealings and your money, trust only the person wearing your pants right now. Trust no one! Shame to say that, but it is the truth. i am so glad I did a reverse lookup on the number. I was going to get an "rv" I am in southwest VA.. and like all of you have said, they are also selling the motorcycle, truck, and 2 different campers, and a horse trailer. How in the world do we put a stop to these people!!!

Looks like "michele.cresswell@verizon.net' is selling her 2008 Yamaha Rhino off road machine for just $2,500 (real value is $6k + +) why do I think I'll get an e mail/call stating that they have already moved but,,,,,,,  will flag on Craigs List so at least they move on.

Tip off was when I printed the posting there was a TON of search words listed and they were all over the place.  Hey Craig's list how about addressing this issue?  Limits? Clearly visible only?

Well, I didn't get a phone call, but like everyone above, I was sent an e-mail explaining really unusual facts about a 2002 New Holland utility tractor, with a trailer!  for sale at the bargin prices of $2,900.  These sell for about $15,000.  What tipped me off, she wanted my address to complete the billing through e-bay buyer protection, I use e-bay, and that all works online, no mail, AND I had provided my business mailing address in my first e-mail to them as part of my signature.. I was contacted buy two different people, one for a Harley with a sidecar in NE and the other a Gator in Fl.  Both we advertised the same way, they would pay shipping both ways if I wasn't satisfied.  By luck my wife and I decided not to buy the Harley but we did want the John Deere Gator.  I was thinking about getting the MO but then I had second thoughts and my gut instinct told me to compare both invoices and they we almost identical.  Lucky for me because I was just about to be out $2800.  The person who was the agents name was probably the real person doing the scam.

When I called, the guy answering has a Middle Eastern accent. I'm a retired Marine and don't have any kind of fondness for them guys. Hope someone can put these yahoos in the can. I have all info if interested.
