I'm an Administrative Assistant and we keep receiving these faxes. It's pretty annoying at this point. Does not have an "opt out" fax # or phone # and they have not once called over the phone. This one is signed Michael Vetter "Chairman"

We also received the fax -  from this number and same offer

"Kyle Howell, Chairman" of Wall Street Companies claims that "there are two buyers who are interested in opening up negotiations to purchase all or part of [XYZ Corporation.] One is located in Ohio and one is located in Miami and of course you are in Pennsylvania.

Please call me at 403-441-6802. I will give you both buyers' names and a very good idea of the purchase price they would have in mind to purchase all or a substantial portion of [XYZ Corporation]."

Yep, it's a scam.

I got the same fax, 2 buyers one in Miami and the other in Ohio, since when do companies in Ohio buy Government "companies" in another state?

As most of you have figured out, this is nothing but spam from the fax machine. Same phone numbers, with different names. Ours says "Wall Street Companies" Right.. Sending it to the Indiana Attorney General's Office

got a fax about this company wanting to purchase my business.  stay away from 403-441-6802  wall street companies chairmn michael vetted.   bogus company.

A fax from "Wall Street Companies" came in today addressed to our CFO.  The salutation used his first name and middle initial and the first line reads "There are two buyers who are interested in opening up negotiations to purchase all or part of (company name). It was signed by Michael Better, Chairman. The number at the top of the fax is 403-441-6802.  Thinking it is a fax number, I attempted to fax them back asking they discontinue faxing us, but it was, of course, a voice line.  When I phoned the number and asked for their fax number; I was told there is no fax number and the caller promptly hung up.  Most scammers allow one to opt out, but not this group.

I called to test these fools and played their game in the voicemail that I left them.  Of course there was no response or any attempt to contact me.

Message:  "Two buyers are interesting in opening negoations to purchase your company, one in Ohio, one in Miami and of course you are in MO".  Seriously?  I know I'm in MO and they obviously know I'm in MO because it was addressed to a MO address.  Strange way to start a letter, total scam.  And, there's a new player in town - this one was signed by Michael Vetter, CHAIRMAN!  Moving up the ladder.

Got to work this AM and had a fax from Wall Street Companies...I have two businesses....they said they had two people interested in purchasing my business...either all or part...they said one buyer was in Ohio and the other in Miami....they realized I was in Arizona...They said if I called they would give me both buyers' names and addresses....odd.  When I bought the first gun range, the realtor who had the listing made me sign a "keep your mouth shut" agreement...as most businesses don't advertise to the world that they are for sale...They want me to call as they will tell me what the purchasers want to give for my businesses...not for sale...especially to someone out of state....and....I would set the price, not them...I have several parties in state that I know personally that have first right of refusal should I decide to retire....how do they get our information?  No phone number except the one they mention in the letter and no fax number on the paper....Definitely a scam....

Just tell them that in order to continue you will need a good faith down payment.....

Just got ours addressed to "Chairman", as if it's a name. the message verbatim:

"Dear Chairman,

please call me at 403-441-6802 to discuss a company not located in Georgia, who wants to open up negotiations to buy all or part of (Old company name that was changed in 2008!!), Chairman.

No company info anywhere, just says "The Mergers and Acquisitions Department" on the top of the fax. On top of addressing the letter to "Chairman", and using a name we haven't had for years, the address was even older- we haven't been at that office since 2006! When I tried to call to get them to remove our number, there was just dead air- no ringing, no pick-up, no background noise, no "this number is not in service"

just received a BOGUS fax from "The Mergers and Acquisitions Dept." which is apparently the actual name of the company in reference to buying part of all of the company that I work for...When I called to let them know to take our number off of their list and asked what the name of the company was, he got very irritated and said that he thought that I was just trying to get information to write something up on the internet.  In all actuality I was going to please have him remove our fax number from their list and was trying to be polite to Mr. Alex Silver when he hung up on me.  Obviously a bogus company and as someone else said just wasting, ink, paper and my time...Get a REAL job and actually earn money the way you should rather than scamming people.

Received fax from "The Mergers and Acquisitions Dept" to my boss...wanting to discuss a company not located in Florida, who wants to open up negotions to buy all or part of" my department.....BTW, I work for local government division....not a company and NOT for sale!!!  What a scam this is!  No fax number at the bottom either.....this is going in the trash!!!

If they really had buyers they would pick up the phone and call or have their attorney call. Yet another scam the rest of us has to deal with.  Stay away don't call maybe they will get caught!

Received the same letter from Alex Hamilton, VP via fax today (with no indication where it was faxed from, which is illegal according to FCC regulations) and only addressed to first name, initial.  Got a chuckle out of the mention that Wall Street Consultants Group has "Offices in Principal Cities" -- is that a euphemism for "whatever cities have the most idiots to fall for our scam?"
