i received a call this morning from this number but didnt pick up because i didnt recognize the number.
thank you guys for posting your comments about this fiasco and so i will continue not to pick up the phone when this number appears again on my caller id.
this is a very helpful page. if the phone companies dont stop this and the government wont help us, at least we have this page to help one another. thank you again.

First it was a spanish-speaking woman, then a man. We said to remove our # from their list. Then we got angry and said we'd report them to police. I will be reporting the number to police and blocking through the phone company.

Who do you think is going to stop it?  There are several ways to try to stop callers.  If  they are legitmate and will answer, tell them to take your phone off their list.  Find out from your local service how to block the number and block it.  Report the number to the Do Not Call service.

Frankly nothing will stop these calls and people are making money off of them so no one including the government or phone companies is interested.

If you have caller id, don't answer numbers that you don't know.

Have received 5 calls just today from 404-404-2738.  I answered the 5th call no one was there but a recording saying hanging up?  Never going to answer this phone number again.

I received a few calls from 404-404-2738...seriously annoying, dead air or no message left.  Then on 1/30 they called and I just put the phone up to the stereo speaker and turned it up...way up.  I've not received a call from them since.

I just filed a complaint with the FCC. Three repeated phone calls in a 15 minute span tonight. I hope they do something about these scam artists.

I've been getting calls from this number since the beginning of 2012. Sometimes twice in one day, and just about everyday. I have reported them to officials in NC, and they're investigating them, but said they are an international scam company that is hard to track down, but they're trying to get them, and that in the meantime I shouldn't speak to them on the phone if I can help it. It's very irritating. While I was typing this message, they called me again. Always spanish speaking and usually says "Hola!" repeatedly. There has to be a way to block these jerks.

Please stop this number from calling. They call at all hours of the day. There has to be a law to stop them.

I too keep getting calls from this number. 4 or 5 20 minutes apart. Never have I heard a human voice. Also they call odd times of the day. How can I block these?

Continuing to get calls from this number. Same as all other folks posting: Spanish-speaking if we answer; if we try to call back it is a busy signal or goes nowhere.

Hello: I would like to report the number 404-404-2378.  They have been calling my number for at least 6 months.  They call everyday and several times a day.  They speak spanish and laugh.  I have threatened them with the Attorney General and harrasment.  It seems like they do not care.  I know they can speak English because they understand things I say to them.  I need this to stop it is driving me crazy.

I started to receive  these calls around the 16th. They leave no message so i wondered who it was and i called it back and they say the number does not exist.When they call they call 3's in a row back to back then dont call to the next day. Please be safe and if u dont know the number just dont answer if its impotant they would leave a message....

Second call recieved from these fine people. I'm pretty good at spanish, so persued to tell them (in spanish) to talk to me in English if they were going to call people in America. Sounded like a complete jerk, but this is the second call I've recieved and the second time I've told them to remove us me from their list. Didn't give her half a chance to respond. Just yelled at her in Spanish for about half a minute before she hung up. My suggestion? Look up every swear word and nasty phrase you can with Babblefish and repeat them back to these people until they hang up.

I tried calling back, but got the same message as the other posters. "This number does not exist" blah blah blah....  There must be a way to block these calls outside of the DNC registry.

This number is a scam. It is a call center , but a scam call center that is.
These people are from central america or south america. They are impersonators. They claim to be representatives from companies such as " Time Warner Cable" , "CPL" etc. Trying to obtain account information or draw you in into fraudulent subscriptions.

I believe this is just a fake number so you won't be able to track them down. They have called to my home a numerous amount of times. Tell them you are a lawyer and that you know they are trying to commit fraud and that you will sue them and believe me, that will keep them from calling back for a WHILE.

I also advise that you report this number to whoever they are trying to impersonate.

Starting about the first of 2012 have gotten several calls from this number.  Usually, I hear nothing when I answer.  But, occasionally, get some noise and/or background voices in Spanish.  Once I responded with, "No hablo Espanol" and a woman's voice hesitantly repeated that so, my message was heard.  She continued, in Spanish but, I don't know what was said and her voice was like in the background (as if she wasn't speaking directly into the phone.  Then, the call ended.  If I try to call back, I get a busy signal.

10:02 am, 01/17/2012 at 08:08 pm, 01/18/2012 at 6:34pm, 7:08 pm,  I do not pick  up calls from unknown sources.

Call comes in Out of Area w/ the number to our business. Asking to verify our business info. I just hang up.
