Rec'd call from Stuart Wallace at 855-847-8968 stating that they have a claim against me and my social for computer fraud.  Stated that I need to call back immediately to work out an arrangement with them in order to "exonerate" myself.  He said that once the claim is filed in my local county, I will be picked up and arrested at my place of employment.  

This company is using illegal collection practices by making threatening phone calls.  They are a scam and it will be a cold day in hell befor I return their call.  I've kept the recorded threat and will use it to my advantage.

I'm getting enough of these I'm wondering if they make good "scambait" targets.  Any advise on  repercussions if they're initiated by the other party and no acknowledgement is made whether they have or have not reached the person they're looking for?

I received a call a few days ago from Gene Ash of MLA Corp. She stated that she was contacting me on a fraud case that I opened with their company. I NEVER did this, I recently was a victim of identity theft, however, I went through all the necessary channels, i.e. bank, police, credit reporting agencies. She continued to inform me that I owe the company $650.00 for their service. Once again, I NEVER opened an account with this company and do not owe any money. She called me from 404-975-4584. As I was on the phone with her I googled the company and found 100's of websites reporting this company as fraud, found the BBB information, this company is not BBB accredited. I informed her of this information and she continued to tell me "If I do not pay her the money right then and there that she would have the police come to my house and arrest me for not paying my debt". I told her if she calls me again I would contact the local police, FBI, Governor, anyone who will listen and have them arrested and sue them for everything. She then hung up on me, I have not received a call from the company since.

Mr. Debt Collector, you are obviously not reading all of this correctly. YES some people dont pay their bills - or CANT. But, I received this very phone call for a payday loan supposedly taken out in October of 2009. I have NEVER nor will EVER have the need to take out a loan for anything. I make extremely good money and I find that some scam artists will go to any extent to make a quick dollar. I'm not one for discrediting the point in your comment - PAY YOUR BILLS, but I DO PAY MY BILLS and I'm still receiving these calls? Seriously, MLA, go kill yourselves.

I am amazed by the lack of responsible people.   Laws are set in place for people who don't pay bills.  Yes there are some collectors out there that don't follow the Law (FDCPA) but there are some that do. Now, people who don't pay bills will put things on the internet about a phone call from a bill collector that wants them to pay for what they recieved, but will they put on the internet that they are themselves people who don't take care of their responsiblity???????

they are very rude. when asked to stop calling became very upset. i informed hem I would report this they hung up and called back.

BY the way, I don't know where YOU are from but where I am from it is ILLEGAL to harrass, pressure, falsify legal action, threaten or coerce during the collection of a purported debt. Got my umpteenth call from the Scam Artists.(going on since 2009) Every week they switch company names.  This week it is the MLA.  The address they gave me is 1005 Virginia Ave. Ste 230, Hapeville, GA 30354.  Phone # 404-991-6877.  I don't owe anyone and this is a full fledge scam.  They have threatened to arrest me and even the  payroll manager at my place of employment when he wouldn't give them a cc number,  Frustrated!!!!

I have a job, thats not the point, calling and threating you to pay is against the law, and you are problay the wanna be collector in this post.   so go take a SHORT walk off a BIG CLIFF. Also I have plenty of time and I do work. It doesnt take long to find post like this and to find information with google moron.

Actually the call was from 404-991-6871, MLA Stewart Wallace, He was not only obnoxious but very threatening. He was looking for someone other then me. I told him I had no information for him and did not want any further contact from him. Their methods are very unprofessional and very caustic. Please do not post any of my information.

Just so they aware, I found there actually address with the BBB.

I have received severals call from 404-991-6880. The call was about a debt that I  did owe and actually received a summons for. Im glad that I was contacted about this so that I could clear this up. I forgot all about this. Ms. Hankerson was actually very nice and helped me with a settlement. Never once, did she threaten me. Thanks, Ms. Hankerson!

Received 3 threatening calls today stating they were issuing me a warrant for my arrest for an account that is not even legitimate. Requested they contact my attorney, they refused. Conflicting responses, inability to provide valid call back number, and inaccurate information. They were willing to "forgo all criminal/felony charges" if I paid them money today. My attorney has reported them to the sheriff's office for imitating public employees (the said they worked for the county courts) and the sheriff's office asked that I record any and all calls and to advise my work and family/friends to do the same. Shady people. Get a real job. Quit pretending you're a legitimate collection agency when all you are is a harrassing identify theft cesspool.
