i got a call from a new 406 number......it was 406-219-2301 and they said "press 1 to opt out and be placed on our do not call list"...ya....right.....when are the phone companies going to do something about all of these scam numbers?  technology has advanced so fast and yet we are harrassed with these people....unbelieveable!

This # called me as well.  They call me every day.  The number is registered to somebody in Montana.  

I finally answered the phone today and the woman asked for me (lots of noise in the background like a telemarketer), and I told her I wasn't there and asked if she wanted to leave a message and she said no, when is a better time to reach her?

I called the number back to see if a machine picked up or something, and I got a busy tone.  

It really bothers me that they have the nerve to call me every day when I don't pick up the phone.

They call me everyday! When I answer sometimes they just hang up. A girl will sometimes ask for my husbands name. I said she has the wrong number once and another time I said that this was his wife's cell phone number. Both times she just hung up.

I guess the actual term is "caller ID spoofing".  Google it.

I've gotten multiple phone calls from the number and i never pick up a number i don't recognize unless they leave a message, then maybe i'll call them back....sooo annoying!! They wouldn't like being harassed like that!

Received two calls today on my cell from this number.

I got my call from them too. They had the wrong number by asking for some one else so  I changed the name (name up) and also made up an address and requested my name be placed in the drawing.  I bought everything they offered.  They are probably still scratching their heads on that one.  There is a website, can't recall the addy, but you can enter any number you want and that is the number that will show up on their caller ID.  SMP is probably using something like that.  She said her supervisor will call me back just to make sure I was treated well.  That should be good for crank yanking on my part,  but doubt they will call.

Ok got the call from the supervisor and she asked for my CC#.  So I made up a number with exp date and the security code.  She tried to run that number and it didn't work.  So I made up another number and behold that doesn't work either.   I asked if they were running a scam on me and Sherry said, "Absolutely not!".  Her number was 229 423 5483.  She said she was going to look into it and  get back with me.  I'm sure they know about this message board probably will read this message in a little while.

I am getting the same thing done to me.  They call me everyday around 10-10:30 am.  I don't answer, but when I do it just rings.  How do I make it stop?

I recieved a call from this number when I returned the call no one answered dont know who it is or why they are calling

YEAH, YUP SAME NUMBER 406-761-4025 I've Recieved a few of these calls. I've ALSO recieved some at the number 866-486-4901 and recieved one at the number 866-406-5183. APParently the 406 area code is in Montana but I can't figure out where the others are located

They are calling my 12 year old daughter on her cell phone does anyone know how to make this stop??

I received a call from this number on March 7th 2008 at 10:32 a.m. while I was at work.  I was busy and did not answer the phone.  I did not know this number so I got on the computer and found this web site.  Glad to know this was on here so I won't waste my time if they ever call back.  I won't even answer for fear they may try and clone my phone.

He called me at work...it was crazy he new my cell address and all that jazz. then he told me i won a trip. I was like ok then he told me that his manager was going to call me back. She did and I gave her my card number like. I put my car as hot the same day. she also told me that i could call her back at any time she never answerd....They said I would get a packet about the trip in 5 days... 3 more days and lets see if i get this packet

I just got this call this morning. She was so happy and excited to tell me that i had just won thousands of dollars from so location in Georgia for being a great Visa user. How did she get my number and address?

Will i be scammed or am i ok as long as she doesnt get my card info?

I keep receiving calls from this number, at the same time every morning.  I never answer unknown numbers but was very curious on why the f*ck this number keeps calling me. I finally tried to call it back but an operator stated it is a disconnected number. No luck so now I gotta wait til' they call me back so I can say, "TAKE ME OFF YOUR LIST, please"

This information really halped me out!!! They called and hadall my info, and I almost gave them all my credit card information, but I ended up not. I thank God that I didn't!!!!!!!!

In December 2007 American reader contacted me regarding a magazine subscription promotion, They informed me they got my name and address from Mastercard because I am a card holder. I was told i would get $1000 gift card to spend online, and get membership that can save me a $1000 on groceries. I signed up for a monthly, multi magazine subscription. I was told my magazines would arrive in up to 8 weeks. the next day i get a call from the bank explaining how this withdrawal of $49.98 out of my checking account caused an overdraft... Shocked. I went ahead and try to cancelled my subscription. A month later I received a 'past due' billing for $79 from American Reader. I call customer service and told them I had cancelled my subscription.

I spoke with a lady, who told me that my magazines could take 16 weeks+ to arrive. I told her that was not was originally told/promised to me. she said 'well I am telling you now'. I told her i already cancelled my subscription, she told me that I could not. I ended the call and called back to speak with this lady supervisor, low and behold I was transferred back to the same lady.

I asked for she supervisor, she stated 'I am my supervisor'. I asked to speak with her boss, she said 'my boss does not get on the phone and speak with anybody'. I asked for his bosses name, she refused to give it.

Now I got a letter from Credit & Collection Solutions Inc. saying thats 'there company has been contracted to collect on the debt past due amount $245.35 and balance to pay in full $1,423.03'. And they say 'as a bonded collection agency they will pursue this matter to matter to the fullest extent allowable by law'.

American Reader claims to be a family owned company doing business in Great Falls Montana. FALSE. The state of Montana has record of this company doing business in their state. I called the Great Falls Montana Chamber of Commerce, who has received many calls/complaints regarding this company. They say that this company does not do business in their town.

They have multiple names, multiple locales. They are scam artists and jerks. If they call you, please just hang up!!

I have been called a few times by this # and never answered it because I was at work.  They called today and I missed the call and a few hours later they called again and I answered.  A girl was there and said that I was selected as a preffered customer from Visa.  She said I am in the drawing for thousands of dollars and I get a free 2 day vacation and I get to pick from 55 resorts. She verified I was between 18-70 in age and verified that my address was correct.  She kept congratulating me. Then she said I also get 2 free magazine subscriptions and said that the magazines were randomly picked and that they picked Cosmo and Vogue...she asked if I like those magazines...I said I do not read magazines and she said ok thank you and hung up.  How weird.  Something is not right with this.  I wish i knew how they got my # because I never ever give my info out or fill out sweepstakes. I am pissed!!! How the hell does she know my phone # and address.

Yep, was a victim of the fakie Montana number as well.  In fact they called me about 30 minutes ago.  I'm glad this website is here...

I kept asking her, "Is this a scam?" and she repeatedly said no, and told me why.  Blah, blah, blah, then the subject of magazines came up, and I then NEW it was a scam.  I told her to call me back tomorrow cuz I was on my way to work, which I was already late (that was a lie by the way).  

You can ask the supervisor to put you on the "Do Not Call" list, but tell them that you want to be put on all three, national, business, and local "do not call" list.  The loop hole is if you just say put me on the "do not call" list, you'll probably just be put on one of the three.  By national law it is illegal for a telemarketing company to call you after you have been put on the "do not call" list, however it could take up to 30 to 90 days to process if you are talking to a representative.  My fiance works with NCO which is a telemarketing sales company, but they don't scam you... LOL.  They represent Wells Fargo, Bank of America, AT&T, etc.

I don't know if local companies abide by these laws, but I know his does because they represent national companies.  

Anywho, I wish there was a way to report this company and put them away for good.  I'm gonna go to the Better Business Bureau website tonight to see what I can do... 'til then, I've got to get ready for work!

I am on the do not call list for my cell, and they called me today.

I called my cell company and they said there is nothing they can do to block them.  They told me to register for the Dp Not Call List.  I'm going to now, these people are annoying, they call and call and call.  They don't give up!  I suggest registering as well and after 31 days (way too long, it's all electronic, should be instantanious removal) you can start reporting them.  If it comes to it, I'll find a direct number and call them, but this will not continue.  I was a telemarketer at one point, but we never went this far to call for 3 or 4 days straight for 3 or 4 times a day.  Did everyone notice that they didn't call on Sunday?  They also show up as unavailable.  I have that plus two other numbers for them.  Would someone in Montana go visit these people for us and tell them to stop calling, I would appreciate it!!!

i got a call from this lady yesterday at 8 in the morning.. she told me she was calling from georgia but she obviously had a montana area code.  then she told me that i won all this stuff. she told me my old address and i didnt give her a recent address.  she told me that i won a vacation and some magazines. i didnt give her any information and then the call ended. and she still insisted that i was going to win a vacation. i was very confused by it all.

I get this number calling me 5 times a day at chool and it is really making me mad. I cant pick up but wen I call back it says the number has been disconnected. If anyone know who this is please drop me an E-mail at

they keep calling the cell phone it's a guy and he keeps hangin up on my hubby after asking for me this is so not fair..
