Who are these people??? Everyday I get 3-4 calls from different numbers. I have stopped answering my phone. It is either a recording asking if I want to lower my interest rate or some dish network. I never get to talk to anyone to take me off their list.

The exact same thing just happened to me and I got on the computer to search for the number to see who was really calling me because it just didn't seem right. I noticed that there are several people who have been called by this same number. I hung up on the guy because it sounded like a complete scam. I figured if it wasn't that he would call right back. After he didn't, I tried to call the number back and it wouldn't even ring! I'm so tired of this!

Knew it was a BS call, but punched "1" to talk to some "lady" who would not identify herself other than to state the company is "Card Services" and will lower your credit card interest rates.
Also would not give a mailing address so I could further identify them
Phone numbers can be disguised and caller ID fooled.
Number shown may not be actual calling number.
Just once someone get a REAL address and name.

If those are real numbers of someone other than these scan artists, good luck to their reputation and real business needs.

i used to manage a call center EXACTLY like described here... we pay commission only and its so HARD to find people interested, we hang up if you dont sound interested... after all, its commission only... the number is invalid because they are not liscensed nor are they a registered company... they are simply trying to fly under the radar and not get detected... chances are they wont steal your money BUT theyll just lose it instead to some other company robbing them. you probably wont get an interest rate reduction either because they are trying to fly under the radar, they dont have an account to process your payment at least until one of their accounts clears up and they have room to process it but by that time they are so far behind in paperwork, they dont know where your information is! and even if they could process your charge for the services, its so hard to actually get somebody to do the work for you with them robbing you on top of it! simply put... they rob you and get robbed by other companies in the same market! if you want lower rates, PAY YOUR BILLS ON TIME AND CALL THE BANK... DONT SETTLE FOR LESS THAN HALF OF WHAT YOUR INTEREST WAS! AND IF YOU WANT TO STOP THESE CALLS, THE ONLY WAY TO DO SO IS TO LET THEM STEAL YOUR MONEY AND LET THEM GET CAUGHT... OR DONT PICK UP THE PHONE...

I received a call from this number at work and home asking me if I wanted to lower my interest rates on any of my credit cards that were above 10%.  They also stated the card that had an interest rate above 10% must be 10% below of the balance (they did not want a credit card that was at the maximum with no available balance).  Then they asked for the credit card number. And, I told them I would not give them my credit card number they then stated they was going to take me off there call list. It was a scam because you should not give anyone your credit card number.

My husband received a call today on his cell phone from 407-722-5827,the person was asking if he had $3000 in credit card debit. My husband told the person to call me. When the person called he asked if I wanted to lower my interest rates on my credit cards. I stated yes. but I had a funny feeling about this, so I told the representative to call me back. I wanted to look up the phone # and anything I could find on this company and I'm glad I did. This is a scam.

All of you who mention "I'm on the DNC list" need to educate yourselves. This is obviously not a LEGITIMATE telemarketing company. Weasels like this DON'T CARE about the law. They circumvent it. These are people with malicious intentions who want nothing more than to get some tiny piece of personal information that they can use. A legitimate company will honor the DNC list. A legitimate company does not verbally abuse a potential customer and doesn't hang up when asked questions. Why else would these people hang up when confronted with questions they are required BY LAW to answer? Come on people! Get your heads out of your a***s and wise up. And while I'm on my soapbox, the DNC list does not apply to charities or political parties.

And for the record, your caller ID can't be trusted. There are technologies out there to fake the numbers that come up on your screen. I think this one's a dead giveaway. There's no number that starts with 000.

just keep calling. Never leave message. I do have on my voice mail saying: if you are telemarketing not to leave a message, do not call back & your call will never be answered or returned if we do not recognize your name or number. Sometimes it works sometimes not.

Received a call from this "company" asking to lower my credit card rates...  umm...  HELLO?!?!??  I don't even have a credit card.  When I asked them which account this is for, they hung up on me and gave me no option to remove myself.

It was a recorded message from "Cardholder Services" about a limited time offer to reduce the rate on my credit card. Pressed nine to speak to a representative. As I was asking this person to remove my phone number from the call list, I was disconnected. I am on the no-call list. Why am I still getting this kind of annoying invasion of privacy?

I got the same calling saying they were card member services and asked if i'd like my rate reduced.  Of course I pressed 9 and she asked if had $4000 or more in credit card debt.  I asked do you mean for all cards or just one.  She said for all.  I said I don't think so but it is probably close and she hung up on me.  I wonder what the amount of my debt has to do with anything.  Obviously it's a scam but since when did scammers get picky?

I pressed 9 and asked what company - she said "visa/mastercard"  I asked what city she was calling from "Florida" - I asked how she got my information - she said they represent banks like Citi, Bank of America, etc - she asked for my cards 800 number, I didn't have it on me at the time of the call, I asked to have her number to call back (so I could do some research on this) and she said she would call me back this afternoon - I don't plan on answering.  I am no do not call list as well - looks like they have found a way around this.  I am angry with myself for even thinking this was legit!! I am not generally a gullible person, but the idea of saving $ on interest rates in these tough economic times is appealling to even the most reasonable of us!

Got a call from this number yesterday asking the same "Would you like to lower your credit card rate?  Your time is running out!  We have attempted to contact you regarding lowering your rates!"  I pressed 9 to speak with a representative and was hung up on.  I had a similar experience with a different number and when I demanded they take me off of their calling list they slammed the phone down!

Got a call from these folks today, automation said they were "cardmember services" and they  could lower my interest rate for just asking, and I ALMOST pressed the number to talk to a live operator. After all, one of my real bills does arrive addressed from "cardmenber services." But what cc company asks YOU if you want your rate lowered. You got to beg THEM! Figured it was a phishing scam, and yes, I am on the do not call list too.

Like the previous posters, I am on the do not call list and have previously told these people not to call me again.

Just now, I asked the representative for company identity information, and then to be transferred to a manager when he refused. Like the previous posters, I was verbally abused for asking. If you can think of a crude word for a sexual organ that starts with the letter 'p', I was probably just called it.

They just called me with a pre-recorded message about "time is running out on getting reduced rate" on my credit card and "press 9 to be connected to a representative". When the representative came on I asked 1) what company it was and she said "card member services" 2) what credit card company it was--"visa, mastercard". Asked again, same answer 3)what her name was "Ahnie". 4) Then I asked what her number was, just in case we get disconnected and I can call back---she hung up!  Why am I not surprised by that. The phone number that shows up is "invalid or disconnected". I wish someone would come up with a way to stop this S---! Just think of how rich you could become!

got a call from 'em about the same thing as the first post.  Asked for company name, got hung up.  *69 the number, got this number, more than likely a scrambled number.  I called Qwest, recommended that I contact the BBB.  Contacted 'em, was told to contact the FTC.  Contacted FTC, filed a complaint, and this isn't the first time it has happened.  According to the FTC person, it is the classic phishing scam.

Repeated calls to both home numbers.  After finally reaching a "live" telemarketing representative - they hung up immediately when I began to ask to be removed from their call list.  Is there no way to track the owner of these numbers?  This should be absolutely illegal as it has occurred over 10X in the last 2 weeks. For senior citizens it could should be called abuse.  When I tried to call back on the reported number, it says the number is not valid.  No surprise there.
