If someone is using your company's name to make these calls as you say, then why aren't you suing them?

This company Florida Energy Group is calling people to set up appointments to come out to your house to do an "energy assessment" on your house but the moment you ask them for their address they tell you for security purposes they can't tell you. WHAT? What legit company can't tell you their address? Are they a branch of the CIA? Everybody needs to report them to Florida's Attorney General here's the address below.

Dear Energy Group Shill, you are full of crap.  Your company is not calling persons with whom they have done business nor do they represent FPL.  In fact, FPL is rather upset that companies such as yours LIE about their affiliation.  You are not doing a survey, you are attempting to disguise your telemarketing by asking a few questions.  You have called via many numbers and have changed your name many times in order to defraud and steal money from unsuspecting dupes.  Go away, and stop bothering people.  If you were a legitimate company you would honor the DNC.  You and your company are nothing less than thieves.

My answering machine message says, "If I don't know you, hang up and DON'T call me again."

My caller ID just showed "UNKNOWN" and this number.

Some hick named Murdeath calls from 407-293-8870  and says she is sending someone out to check my energy consumption and that my power company is raising their rates. I asked her what power company and she said ALL OF THEM, and they'll be out tomorrow to save me money.  
I told her I'm on the Do Not Call List and she said so what? She can call anyone she wants anytime she wants.  She said my name, then my address, and asked me to verify that.  I said, Who is this and she hung up.
Caller ID says the call is from ENERGY GROUP and the number has a 407 area code.  I tried calling her back but it says the  number is not activated and to contact customer service to rectify that.  
FYI - call blocking the number does no good   - it still gets through. So that means it's not the real number where the call is coming from - it's a computer generated call using any phone number and name for caller ID to fool the party they're calling and attempting to scam.
This has been going on for weeks now - They call several times a day and I just let the machine pick it up. I really think I need to invest in a bullhorn!
Or maybe I need to tell them to come on out and have the police ready and waiting for them. OR my pit bull might want to meet them for a little up close and personal greeting.

I have noted three different names on my caller ID calling from this number:  TheEnergy Group, Unknown, and a disconnected bunch of letters and numbers that mean nothing.  You can't block them, because it's a fake number.  I've called and received a message saying this number has not been assigned.  Next stop, the FL Attorney General's office.  

Just letting you know your message has it's supporters.  It is such a shame your legitimate company has had to deal with all this.  I hope more people take the time to read your post!

To those mentioning the DNC list, I am on it too - but it is my understanding that calls are still allowed if it concerns a company you have done business with in the past. If this is indeed connected to FPL (a survey co. working for them), that probably is the reason so many of us on the list are still getting the calls.  Glad I still have an answering machine to screen calls - several from them every day.  :(

I was told to ask for Shelby, yea whatever. Every time I call a women named cory answers, and states that's this number is also connected to "The fake energy group".  I been calling this just to piss this women off. She even stated that yes they did send someone to my house on April 30'th 2014, and I explained why over and over again that I called the police on the man
named TONY the sent to my house, to give me a energy evaluation on my home.

Hello Someone called my home phone from Phone Number 407-293-8870 on April 29, 2014. They stated there Company name was "Energy Consumer Services" and wanted to send someone to my House. they already had my wife's name and address. They sent someone to my house today (April 30th 2014), who claimed to be with a company called "Home Wise Solutions". Anyway I called the Daytona Beach Police when This man named Tony showed up.
The police Stopped this guy after he left my house, and checked his Badge and ID and told me he was legit. However there is no such company called Energy Consumer Service. The other Phone number they gave me is 888-213-2416, which come's up as "Central Florida Technical Services, LLC." at 615 Poucher Rd, Avon, FL 33825. and as well as "The Energy Group" and "Energy 2000". at 7651 Ashley Park Court, Orlando, FL 32835.
Anayway, this whole thing played out the way it did because of the post on the website 800notes.com, that says you "The Energy Group" DOES NOT in anyway call residential phone numbers.
And how some bogus company is pretending to be You((The Energy Group) is doing so. I have more Information on these other companies such as the President's name Keenan Atkinson, and Business Development Director's name Hal Keller.

Now this company claimed that they were sending someone to my home to evaluate my home's energy's usage.
I Guess now I will never Know.

THEENERGY GROUP just like that with no space between the e's calls several times a day. I've never answered or returned their calls. They don't leave a message. You'd think they'd get bored and stop calling.

Same as Randolph above.  They're calling 5 or 6 times a day, hourly.  A disconnected and spoofed number cannot be blocked.  But they could be traced, if engaged in conversation long enough.  Then the company whose name is being used could sue for massive damages and everyone else could pile into a class action suit against both the crooks and the phone company servicing them and enabling their activities.  A big damage award against a tele-carrier will change the equation a lot.  Legislators should pump up damages per call to 3k and give half to any phone company who catches them (and their competitor).  Nice incentive to help out.

Used to get calls from this number once a week or less. Now I'm getting calls several times a day. Today they've called almost once an hour.

I got a call just a little while ago and I asked "who is calling?" and they said Energy Group. I then asked "What is Energy Group" and the caller said "Good question" and hung up on me. I guess he didn't like my asking...he needs to get a new job! hahaha

Thanks for the valuable information.  I too, have been receiving multiple calls from The Energy Group.  I am conditioned to check this site before answering calls I do not recognize.  I truly appreciate this site.  The DNC list does not work, nor do complaints.  Too bad our State of FLorida legislators don't want to combat robo calls. Wonder what's in it for them?

Heard again from those scambits today.  If I am at home for the next call, I will answer and then say please hold I'll be right back --------  and then ------------------------------------  on and on and on.  It's their wasted time not mine.

They called us. We weren't home. They said my name: Mrs. Jones, Mrs. Jones, screw you! Then she hung up. A man called back and said Mr. and Mrs. Jones, a long pause, then hung up. Don't these people have anything better to do?

They call at least twice a day, they never leave a message and caller ID says it Energy Group.

Oops!  Just after I sent the above my phone rang.  4 rings no message.  Where's the love.

This time caller ID did say 'THEENERGY GROUP'.  Maybe I need to answe and ask for Clarice.  See if she would like some fava beans and a nice Chianti.

I also appreciate the input from the real Energy Group that is gettin screwed by these scums.  Received another call with ID that was listed as 'Not Available'.  Interesting new phone number (fake) 114072938870.  I either let it ring until the base station picks up or I pick up and just sit there quietly listening to them start to talk.  Eventually, I will invest in a really good call blocker.

I received a call just now from 407-293-8870 and I answered only to be hung up on in about 15 seconds. Looks like the same culprit as the rest. I will not answer it again. The real company by that name has done a great service by posting the truth.

This number calls me as "unknown" and "The Energy Group."  They never leave a message and they hang up if you pick up.  If you redial to complain, you get a message saying this number has not yet been connected.  So blocking these b*****ds won't do any good.

I have gotten several of these calls, displaying The Energy Group on caller ID, 407-293-8870  I want to thank the real Energy Group for the information they posted here, but there apparently really is a group making a survey of electric costs as well, calling from a different number.  I also got a call from those people and they started off by saying they were not selling anything and wanted to know how much my electric bills were.  I tried to explain that the bill varies greatly from month to month but when I told them what my highest bill ever was they took that as the info and said goodby.    

The Energy Group located at 7651-B Ashley Park Ct / www.energygrp.com is NOT the company calling people with harassing calls.  A company posing as The Energy Group (or with the same name) is using an old phone number of the Energy Group to make calls appear as coming from that number.

People are receiving scam calls from telemarketers that have a found a way to spoof the phone number on caller ID. This is why when you call the number back, it says the number is disconnected - they aren't actually calling from that number.  We have contacted the phone company about this numerous times and there is nothing they can do about it.  We are sorry that people are being harassed, but the company named the Energy Group with the website www.energygrp.com is NOT the company making harassing calls.   We have been dealing with this for several years and have had to change our company phone number and constantly field complaints from people thinking that we are calling them.  We  are a small consulting company and do not call consumers (ever!) as we do not deal in residential markets and do not telemarket at all.

Telemarketer called with a recorded message about savings "up to $7500" in energy costs, blah blah. I'm on the DNC-list and have never given that number out to any businesses. It's a blatant robocall. The recording gave no option to be removed from their list. I've already reported them, please do the same!
