Florence 2013-11-12 23:53:33 Unknown
I did a reverse phone number search on Yellow Pages....the name came up as Dominique Debrosse in Orlando Florida
This name came up in my junk mail before all this happened didn't open it...just deleted it

Weird...My story is the same as the rest of these, except when I answered the phone 'missed calls' started racking up
one after the other, with the same number....if I had limited minutes I would have gone broke
Now I'm in a mess with automatic payments to pay my accounts...bank cancelled my credit card (new one promised) have to notify a whole list of people... T-Mobile sure doesn't worry about it....what a bummer

I have a couple of ways to deal with these parasites. First, I let the phone ring three full times before I pick up. I pick up and don't say anything for 2-3 seconds. If it is a computer autodialer, 80-90% of the time the computer will hang up thinking it has gotten a voice mail or answering machine. After 2-3 seconds, I say our company name, but don't give out my name. That way they don't automatically have a name if they call back and get someone else. If I still get a person and they insist, I tell them my name is "Richard Smith"(it's not). It is none of their business what my real name is, they are telescammers who are breaking the law. If they persist in calling over and over again, I tell them that my boss is available, and then I use a sports air horn right next to the phone. What are they going to do, sue me? "Your Honor, I was illegally telescamming and they deafened me!" Good luck with THAT argument. The judge might give me a medal. Reporting these "people"(I use that term loosely) to the Do Not Call Registry is futile, they are usually spoofing their phone number anyway. If you have the time, have some fun with them. See how long they will stay on hold or still be on the line if you put the phone down. Take your cordless into the bathroom and have an extended "deposit" at the Porcelain Bank, complete with very loud fake sound effects. Tell them you ARE the boss and listen to their sales pitch, never saying yes to anything, but always saying that you will look at your numbers and see what you can do. Some scammers will record any affirmative answer you give and then splice it into a call and bill you for whatever they are selling, using that as evidence of an order. Waste as much of their time as you can, because that keeps them from scamming other people, and it can be a really fun stress reliever! Anything that we can do to make this less profitable for these ticks on the butt of humanity is a plus. Feel free to pass this on or add to it with your fun ways of taking back your phone lines. If these idiots would get a real job, the world would be a better place for all of us.
This particular call came in on my cell and no message was left. Given the number of comments from people that have called the # back and said it was disconnected, I would say that it is most likely a scammer that is spoofing their # so you can't call them back.

Just got a call from them too. People, it doesn't matter if your on the Do Not Call list. This is most likely a scam and some idiot on a computer calls you through the computer and spoofs the number that shows up on your caller ID so you have no way of tracking them, and that's why when you call back the number is disconnected. I agree they should die in a fire.

They called my phone last night and did leave a message apparently to lower interest rates. Called again today, but left no message. Blocking this one!

CT 2013-11-05 17:07:05 Unknown
Just got this on my cell. Thank you to whoever mentioned being able to block phone numbers so easily on a cell phone! Googled it & learned how to do it. At least when they try to call me again, they have to change the number they're calling from. Of course, then I get another phone number to block. =)

Received a call approx 11:46am today
Extremely annoyed 2013-11-05 16:44:44 Unknown
I am on the DNC list, but still get annoying calls from scammers like this. When they started to tell me I had won a vacation in Orlando, Florida, I hung up. I do not know the rest of the recorded message, nor do I care to know. I just want them to take my number off their list. They have called before. When I tried calling the number back to tell them not to call, there was first a busy signal. Finally there was a recorded message to try again later.

Ima Nasshole 2013-11-05 16:37:43 Unknown
I have call blocked 14 numbers from the 407 area code in the past two weeks. Isn't there anyone monitoring the do not call listings? Didn't they just pass updated laws covering unwanted cell phone callers getting fined $2,500 for the firs offense?
chris 2013-11-05 16:27:09 Unknown
they need to be severely burned but still alive so they can think about it

Called me today - I answered, it was a recording for a scam-y sounding travel offer. Options at the end of the call were "Press 1 to speak with your travel agent, Press 2 if you have no interest in traveling"
dms 2013-11-05 15:34:06 Unknown
Robocall about some dream vacation in Orlando. I hung up and added the number to my block list.
Liz 2013-11-05 14:40:21 Unknown
Called at 9.30am. They left a message, but only a tailend. It was about flights and travel agents.
Mary 2013-11-05 14:27:18 Unknown
same - no message - I'm not calling back

Scheib 2013-11-04 22:44:37 Telemarketer
This number plus 3 or 4 close to it have been calling my cellphone for a couple of months now and again this morning. Whomever this is I don't know, but the idiots left a message that I could win a dream vacation by calling them back with the claim number they left me. It's a total scam and should be avoided at all costs!
