They have called me everyday this week and today I actually answered because had no idea as to what it was regarding. I did fill out surveys but for something other than Walmart gift cards, but I thought It was kinda cool so they asked me to spell my first and last name and my address then when she asked me to give her my card info she said she would wait, 2 seconds later said are you ready? I said no and thought for a second and hung up. If you win a prize there is no reason you need or should have to pay for the prize to get to you. Total scam!

I get 3 to 4 calls a day on my cell phone, anytime from 9am to 9pm. Never anyone there. I called the number back it was answered, "thank you for calling customer service, leave your name and number and we will get back with you". Do they think everyone is stupid? I don't want them to call me in the first place.

I inadvertently do these surveys because for what ever it is that I am researching or some other primary reason that I end up on the mega-survey list for my troubles, I (DUH!) end up realizing that I have once again been duped into anwering some survey questioneer, which really are not surveys at all, but marketing techniques to get information about products and services that I use or am interested in; so the companies that are paying them for prospective customers can begin with the endless email notifications and phone calls.

From what I am hearing here, this is probably a "free" giftcard that I "won" and while they get my credit card information for anywhere from $1.99-$3.99 for shipping and handling they will also try to talk me into joining some membership, signing up for a 30 day trial of some service, free magazine subscription for 6 months, or who knows what else! Thanks for the info. on this number I am sure I know what it is now.

This number calls me about 3 times per day! Unlike the others who may have recieved this call when I answered it it told me by way of Automation for me to leave my full name and address so they could send me my prize! I suspected it was a scam and just hung up! While they still call me  regularly if i do not pick up,they will not leave me a voicemail!

just buy silence ringtone at $1.29 from itune  (which I did ) then attach the silent ringtone to that specific number  or buy Calls Blacklist Pro +  from app. store at $0.99  or if you dont wanna spend for those scammers just choose  specific ringtones and attach that number (which is way smarter than spending money on them)

I have no idea if this will work for cell phones (I don't own a cell phone), but it will stop most telemarketers from calling your land line. (the legit telemarketers anyway.)

Julie:
you should also do what another poster said to do. Inform the bank(s) that issued your payment cards about what happened.
Most banks flag this type of thing rather quickly. If your accounts did have sufficient funds, but was still declined,  they did you service by not accepting the payee as legitimate. They have very likely been flagged as fraud.

One More Thing:
This number is a BIG scam... yes the guy (they) think they are untouchable, if you get this call, get as much information as you can, his name, a company mailing address, a return phone number.. they'll give it to you because they want to seem legit, of course its all fake, but you can report this information to your local FBI office http://www.fbi.gov/scams-safety/fraud and the FTC @ http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/phonefraud/index.shtml. Also you can report it here.. http://www.consumerfraudreporting.org/reporting.php. They take this seriously and are always working to stop this!!!

Good luck guys!

PS Julie... if you haven't already, you should call your banks/cardholders and let them know what just happened, that way IF any charges try to post or do or have they can start a fraud investigation!

@ Julie
I just got a call from the number on this topic. The call failed to connect after their auto dialer called me. Yes, they are calling using such a device. I think that is illegal in some states. I have no idea what the attempted call was about was about. I still get calls from random people. They claim on their recording that it is not a telemarketer. That turned out to be a so called "Free 2 day cruise to the Bahamas.
1st off, there is no such thing as a free cruise, as the port authority charges a fee to every passenger on Cruise Ships.
Anyway, back to the topic... I wouldn't panic if neither of your payment cards went through. That is usually an indicator the financial institution has flagged the ones that you gave the info as a fraud risk.

I can understand your desire to get help paying fuel costs to get to your cancer treatments. I have cancer myself, but the cancer center is only 2 blocks from me.

The payment cards not going through for the reason mentioned above is the best case scenario, and most common reason for them to be declined.
You should keep doing what you are doing by trying to get a callback from them.

I'm the 4th in my immediate family to get cancer. Sad but true. :(
When I am in great need for help with my situation, the American Cancer Society has stepped in to help. They really are your best resource to get the help you need if you are unable to get your needs met.

They keep calling. I told them to stop after they wanted my credit card info to pay for shipping on some bogus prize. I tried to block the calls after telling them to stop calling 5x. Unfortunately that did not work because i just got yet another call.

Survey
I got a phone call from this number yesterday telling me if I  sample things sent through the mail to me and give them my opinion I would receive $200 worth of gifts cards ranging from walmart to free gas.  Having cancer and being on disability I took my chances and gave them my credit card number so they could take $2.49 off for shipping.  When I gave then one card # they said it didn't go through so I gave them another and they said it didn't go through either.  I was told they would contact me to let me know if either card went through, so I am currently waiting a phone call from their supervisor to inform me of this.  I just called and talked to the supervisor and he's supposed to call me back in 2 minutes.  The only reason I believed them is because I did fill out a survey for free samples, and having to travel so far for chemo I could really use the gas money.  As soon as I did it I started getting scared, I'm just hoping the cards really didn't go through and I will never give my info out again!!  The thing that scares me the most is that I know there is nothing wrong with either card I gave them, I just used one of them not even an hour before they called.  Maybe it's because the cards I gave them were child support and disability, maybe there is some kind of protection thing on them, I hope.  Just don't be as stupid as me and give out your credit card number let alone 2 numbers.
