These people need to be stopped. Any advice to be a part of ending the Atkinson dynasty of extended warranty scam should be shared. These men, Darain and Cody, have been in this business for years and there is no stopping them as long as they can rebuild there scam and contribute to local politicians. This may sound insane, but I wish there was something more to do than incarceration of the older brother (twice). Any ideas?

Government Actions
On March 6, 2008, the Missouri Attorney General filed suit in St. Charles County Circuit Court against Dealer Services doing business as National Auto Warranty Services for sending consumers postcards and letters informing them that their warranties were about to expire, and that it was offering them their final chance to purchase a renewed, extended auto warranty. The Attorney General claimed the company failed to inform consumers that it was not affiliated with the dealers or manufacturers of the vehicle, and that it was offering to sell motor vehicle extended service contracts instead of warranties. In addition, the company violated the Missouri No Call Law by calling Missourians who were on the no call list as well as federal telemarketing laws by contacting consumers by phone and failing to honor their requests not to be called. The suit is pending.

In addition to the aforementioned action, in April 2009, it was revealed that 40 attorneys general across the nation have launched a coordinated investigation into the industry. According to the Missouri Attorney General's office, those states are now negotiating a settlement with the company.

On Wednesday, April 22, 2009, the Missouri Department of Insurance sued owners Darain and Cory Atkinson, and their company, demanding they comply with a subpoena.

Advertising Review
The Better Business Bureau has questioned some advertised claims contained in mail solicitations sent to consumers. The BBB brought to the firm's attention that an advertisement as a whole may be misleading although every sentence separately considered is literally true, and that misrepresentation may result not only from direct statements but by omitting or obscuring a material fact. The BBB continues to receive a pattern of complaints and reports from consumers alleging that the firm's solicitations are misleading. The company agreed to discontinue its advertisement.

If you are a former employee then you should report the outbound call centers to the Federal Trade Commission.  Talk with your former employer "National Auto Warranty Services" and tell them to stop using this company.  They know the name and the address of the call center.  Otherwise your former employer is colaberating with this company and paying them to boot!

Also "non of your business"  We the users of this website are fed up!  And eventually someone (maybe a former employee (or a pissed off brother!))is going to report whoever is making these harrassing calls! I am 100% sick of these scammers.  Weird obsession?  Imagine what it would be like to have a known auto warranty scammer calling you 5 times everyday at 1 o'clock for over 3 years and then the FTC can't do anything because they trace the calls. Someday, someone will find them and they will be punished.

.i know it's sometimes hard to see that when your getting a $10,000 paycheck every month though..look at the past of the owners..money laundering drug addicts...no "ethics" there. End Qoute

All of that is about to change. I use to work in the Mall, then one day I was told not to come in. We left the job site and haven't been back since. I think they must have filed chapter 11. Hopefully they were smart enough to stock pile their money overseas. Chances are they will just find another investment partner who could start up another warranty company...Then they will be right back to screwing little old ladies out of their retirement for their personal gain.  God Bless America!

This comment is in response to the one from Jim Vandiver.

You are a liar and a shill for National Auto Warranty Services located in Wentzville, MO. We have seen your numerous posts all over the internet and we are on to your lies on behalf of the scumbags at National Auto Warranty Services.

(Note: to everyone: the following refer only to the company National Auto Warranty Services located in Wentzville, Missouri. There are many other companies with a similar name that may be legitimate.)

This company is one of the biggest auto warranty scammers and crooks in the country. There is no way they are legitimate in any sense of the word.

Want proof? View this link, a press release from the Attorney General of Missouri:
http://ago.mo.gov/newsreleases/2008/030608.htm

They are currently being sued by Missouri for fraud and numerous violations of the state's "No Call Law."

In addition, they are part of a national crackdown on telemarketing fraud from the Federal Trade Commission. This press release clearly shows they were involved in both the state and a federal action:
http://ago.mo.gov/newsreleases/2008/National_ ... filed_by_Nixon/

You can lookup this company's listing at the Missouri Secretary of State website. Be sure to click on the "Filed Documents" link at the top of the page. If you look under the Annual Report dated 4/3/2008, (and previous filings) you will see the home address of  both the President and Vice President of this company. This is public information:
https://www.sos.mo.gov/BusinessEntity/soskb/Corp.asp?411719

In addition, this Jim Vandiver, or whoever this person really is, has listed more than one location under his profile for different posts. For example, under this post, he is from Council Bluffs Iowa:
http://www.topix.com/forum/city/rocky-hill-ct/T3S758L7945R8ND2M

And in the following, he lists himself from Troy, NY.
http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/201/RipOff0201058.htm

Guess Jim Vandiver will have to refund the $7.50 that National Auto Warranty Services paid him for his post. Good luck on your next career. Or perhaps Jim Vandiver is really Darain Atkinson, the President of National Auto Warranty Services, or Cory Atkinson, the listed Vice President. In that case, good luck in prison.

Alot of people are confusing Dealer Services or National Auto Warranty Services with other companies. They do NOT dial outbound to their customers. The best way to figure out who is calling you is to do something like this:

1. Answer the call nicely and sound interested
2. Play along with the rep, the first person you speak to is probably just screening calls so you may have to agree to speak with specialist or a sales person.
3. Go through the sales pitch and tell them you need to call them back with your credit card
4. Get their callback number and post it here. I'll check back every so often. I can look to see who the phone number belongs to and also verify it with the utility company.

listen there my "former employee" you know damn well how the company operates with everything from "takeaways" to the "saves" department...if you honestly think that you spent what you say almost three years working for an "ethical" company then you obviously were sold on the company yourself and need to rethink what went on...i know it's sometimes hard to see that when your getting a $10,000 paycheck every month though..look at the past of the owners..money laundering drug addicts...no "ethics" there

I just called ENAWS again and spoke with one of their managers.  They claim that they fired the digital phone company that was in charge of their phone calls a couple of days ago because they were not maintaining their do-not-call list.  And they claim they have hired a new company now.  So is this new company now calling me from the 702 area code????

Well, it looks like they have changed area codes ... from 408 to 702 ... the lady would not tell me what company she was from, but I am assuming it is still ENAWS. She was very rude with me and ended up transferring me to the do-not-call registry message.

Them: I'll need your vehicle information, please.

I just got a call, and listened to it all the way through.  It said Press one to speak with a representative, so i did, and immediately it was answered by a man who spoke very slowly.  he asked for my vehicle information, and i immediately said i do not own a vehicle and they need to stop calling me, and HE HUNG UP ON ME!

I've tried calling back but its a one way kind of deal, which is really pathetic.  does anyone know the number to the company this is?

I've been receiving calls from this company several times a day, at all hours, for several months now.  I know they are a scam, they are never willing to give out any information about themselves, and I have repeatedly asked to be taken off of their call list.  Today though, I decided to play along with their game and get some information about them.  It took several minutes of discussion with me being very interested in their product to get them to devulge their information but...the company name is ENAWS; their website is www.enaws.com; they are located in St Louis Missouri; and there is a number on their website that you can call and actually get a person!  I will likely be filing a police report in an effort to get our phone company here to block their telemarketer phone numbers from all customers.

Sincerely, Very Annoyed!

I KEEP getting these calls. Here is the ONLY way to stop them I am told...

1. Register with the US Nationwide DoNotCallList
https://www.donotcall.gov

2. File a complaint if you still get the calls after 31 days of registering. They will get a BIG fine! :)

HINT: Calling the number to be "taken off" the list won't work...it may even INCREASE the number of calls you get a day! YIKES!

Lets stop these jerks while we can! They have NO RIGHT to keep calling and calling us.

Repeated calls from this number for months. Have told them to put me on their do not call list and that I am on the fed Do Not Call Registry, but they keep calling back. Checked the number on yellowpages.com and whitepages.com and found that the number is in Salinas, CA. When I tried to get more info, Search U.S.A. (another pain in the behind) popped up, and of course they offer to give you the info on everyone for a fee. If I paid for info on all the telemarketer numbers that I get pestered by, I would be perpetually broke! There must be some way to stop these guys from calling and calling and calling. Obviously asking them to put your number on their Do Not Call List is not the solution.
