If at any time in the future a company like Qsent, Inc or Intelius (both companies have been attempting to compile a cell phone directory) start making numbers available for sales calls, you will be out of reach to them.

Step 2Call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222.

Step 3The registration process takes about 20 seconds.
You will be asked for English or Spanish.
The phone line will identify itself as the National DO NOT CALL list.
It will ask you to key in your number.
It will tell you that telemarketer calls to the number will be blocked once it has been on the registry for 31 days.
It advises you of your consumer right to make a complaint regarding phone sales calls.
That's it.

Step 4BUT, to register your information you must call from the cell phone you use, from the cell phone number you want to have blocked.
You cannot call from a different phone number.

Step 5Registering with the National DO NOT CALL list blocks your number from being used by telemarketers for five (5) years.

Step 6According to the latest information while a national directory of cell phone numbers will eventually be compiled, numbers will be included ion an opt-in basis. If you do nothing your number will not be listed in this directory.

I can tell you where this is coming from I just figured it out and it is probably on other social sites as well mine came from facebook there was an add about swat and college help that you could click on and it had you put in information including your phone number address etc.  I recieved a call the very next day and again just now and decided to google it and came to this site and someone mentioned criminal justice, that is what it is it will list several colleges after you fill out your number address etc and then list the ones closest to you.  I have reported it to the bbb and am currently trying to find the add again and I will post it on here when i do but it all makes sense now.  Thanks for your time and the tips that helped me put it all together.

Got a call immediately after signing up for  criminal justice class information. Left no message.

This number has been calling me several times a day. I did not sign up for any criminal justice info (like others said) but I did sign up for monster.com which is an employment site. I am already in grad school for childhood education so why would they be calling me? I just always hit "reject call" whenever they call. It's annoying though.

I signed up to get information about criminal justice program, so I'm assuming they are just wanting to give you info. The next time they call me I'll answer it and see, but the best way to get them to stop is either not answer for about a month, if you can stand having constant calls per day, or just answer it, and find out what it is, and just tell them you're not interested, or already have all the info you need. If they try to sell you something don't buy it, and just request to be take off their list. That's my best advice for everyone.

Ive been getting the calls as well, they never leave a message, and when I do pick up there is no one on the other end, or they have a terrible connection.  I heard a broken reply saying "...hello bryan...,...we need to verify...".  not sure what that means, but its wierd.

THEY KEEP FUK.. BOTHERING ME AFTER I JUST SING UP FOR IMFORMATION OF COLLEGES, i'M just tired of it...

They wont stop called 8 times in 2 hours directly after signup for information on what I thought was facebook.

i started getting these calls the day after i signed up for criminal justice schooling information. how do i make them stop?

I just called the number back after I missed their call THREE DAYS IN A ROW! They told me that I requested information for dental hygiene programs and I switched my major to nursing a LOOONG time ago... I'm wondering who sold them my number. Anyways, I told them that my new major is nursing and they told me that they dont have a nursing program and hung up on me... Hopefully they wont call me anymore. I'm afraid my phone is going to start emitting black smoke from all of their calls!!

Long story short... tell them your major is nursing. They just might stop the calls! mwahaa

I have been too. As soon as I signed up for college information I had an explosion of random numbers with weird area codes calling me, come to find out most of them are illegal telesales. It's almost as if the colleges I applied to information for sold my number, of course I'm sure they sold many. But that seems very illegal and now I can't get them to stop calling its ringing off the hook!!!

i keep getting calls on my cell phone from this number.  i do not answer it because i dont want to waste my minutes.

Yo! Dey need to leave a damn message!!! WTF!!

These people absolutely will not stop calling my phone after I have repeatedly asked them. They call five times a day and it is so rude and disrepectful. My husband requested criminal justice information online a long time ago, and since we have found him a school on our own. This is getting ridiculous! I tried reporting them to the Better Business Bureau but the phone number does not bring up any company in their database. I am so pissed off.

I too, am getting numerous calls from this number.  Since I don't answer my cell phone at work and they don't leave a message, I have no idea who is calling.  I did request some information from colleges offering paralegal programs so I'm sure, after reading the posts here, it is yet another fly by night operation preying on those who legitimately wish to pursue their education.

Okay, so I checked out this web ad for a Criminal Justice Program. It was looking for law enforcement officers between the ages of 19-25 or something like that. They called, maybe after the 30th time, at 9am on the dot, I answered. They asked for my home address to see if they could find any nearby schools in the Criminal Justice system. All of them were online for me. sooo she said I should expect more calls from those other people.

The one thing I don't understand is why they call you 20+ times and never leave a message if its so imperative that you pick up?! Really frustrating as well

i wish they would stop calling my phone

I started getting those calls as well, then I answered and told him that i was not interested and that i was on the national do not call list. he then just apologized and hung up. the calls stopped for about a week and then switched over to a different number.

I just called the number back and they answered saying."Hello, did you miss a call from this number?"  I told her yes and she said "Ok, I'm ________with a college on medical assisting and you had signed up for info from medical school?
I said, "Yes, but I have taken care of it and I don't want anymore calls from here."
She stuttered and said, "Ummmm, okay" and we hung up.
Guess we'll see if that worked. :)

I have been getting phone calls from 408-754-5297 even on weekends.  My husband picked it up but no one on the other line.  I get the phone calls 4 times  a day.  The name of the company is Five 9.  I would like to report this and have them stop calling me.  
This started when I made some online research about school.  They obviously have sold my number to other companies.

This company CAN help you find paralegal schools...that is what they do.  So if you ask for information, they WILL call you and try to HELP you.
