Voice mail on my cell from "David White" with "state investigation department" claiming pending lawsuit against my name and SSN. Asking either myself or my attorney return call...OR ELSE. Threatening tone, garbled statement about my employer or references being contacted....or something. I reported to FTC and tomorrow will contact my state attorney general's office. And got my cell number on the "national do not call registry." I don't understand how this douchbag's phone number hasn't been deactivated yet.

I just received a voice mail from this guy named vito platt who couldn't speak english at all he said he was calling from the state investigation department and that I had a lawsuit against me and my SS# he also said I needed to call back and give him my address and employer name to get my subpoena papers for the lawsuit.

Claimed to be from FDIC name is Armando Alejandro. Calling in regards to a debt from Advanced Cash America. Told them I was reporting them to my local law enforcement and referred them to my lawyer.

Don't give these idiots anything, its a scam. The guy is sean Johnson and want to tell you that there  is an outstanding loan and want to resolve it now. Don't do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I received 5 calls in 10 minutes.  The first 3 calls were from a Kansas area code.  I knew it was a scam since I don't owe ANYBODY including having an outstanding loan.  I told the man, who spoke terrible English, just that.  Couldn't shut him up so I hung up.
One minute later he called again.  I repeated what I had told him the first time and told him to remove my # from his calling list.  Then hung up..  Less that an minute later he called again.  I did not pick up.  He left a message to call him back. A few minutes later, a call came in from an CA area code  It was the same guy.  I hung up.  He called again from the CA #.  I ignored it.

Got a call today from them Asking all my info and leaving a voicemail. Maybe they are trying to make money to speak some clear english! SCAM! Don't ever give your ssn# to anyone.

This number called and left a message that I will be arrested tomorrow morning if I do not call them back. I have filed numerous reports with my local police and FBI websites for each number that makes this claim that this could happen.... It cannot happen they need to follow proper laws, I hope they read these messages also that we are not going to fall for such false claims.
These companies are out there and there are a lot of them, they are ALL scams. Legitimate companies HAVE to notify you in writing for anything.
Ignore them they are not worth your time or worry.

I just got that same call . I just ignored it and they left me a message.

This number called me claiming his was John Smith , " Legal Dept of FDIC " . His English was so bad I could hardly understand him . 408-882-6564 .

This number calls me 5 times a day. I could set my watch by their calls. They are always asking for the same names (none of whom live at my house). They say they are State Department of Crime and Justice in the State of New York. The first person I spoke to, who barely spoke English, said his name was John Smith. Right. The second said he was Jonathon Martin, and when I asked for his supervisor's name, he said it was Shawn Johnson. They told me I had debts and if I wanted them to stop calling, I'd have to go to Walmart, get some sort of money device that isn't a legitimate English word, and call them back so they could get $300.

Totally a scam, praying on stupid people. But they seriously won't stop calling me either, so I am changing my number. On hold with the phone company doing it now.

I just received a call in a voicemail from this scum, he said his name was "Michael Clark" from VIP american legal (mumble) in an India accent!  He said there was a lawsuit against me and my ss# .  He said I needed to call back and give him my address and employer name to get the subpoena papers for the lawsuit.  Otherwise they were not responsible for what was going to happen to me in the future.  Then he proceeded to give me this scam number twice and told me to have a blessed day!  I liked Newman's idea of calling them!,

Got a call from this number: 408-882-6564, with a CID of San Jose, CA. I didn't answer the phone because it was an unfamiliar CID, and let him leave a message. The guy had very poor English, and was letting me know that I had some legal trouble with some company __IC. It was very hard to understand him! But he did say that if I didn't get back to him I would be in "a big legal mess" or "a lot of trouble" if I didn't let him help me take care of these "legal allegations". And he ended with "good luck". Whatever!

I'll have this number deactivated in a few days for everyone. I have a lot of free time and have been non stop calling them asking for the Hamburglar and Mayor McCheese. I'm now leaving them voicemails. Apparently its a "Magic Jack" phone number. So far I have left a voicemail as a Native American and left the Western Skys phone number to call back. As a lusty lady with a local strip club's number and as a robot and left a fax number for them to call back on. I plan on continuing this all day everyday through the weekend and into next  week.  

Only a matter of time.

I've been getting calls from this number. I told them I know they are a scam and to stop calling me. They leave messages in very broken english that I can hardly understand. Now when they call I answer and just hold down a number so it beeps loudly in their ear. I also called them back repeatedly and did this.

I just received a call from this number what is it all about am kind of scare cause they told me I had 3 lawsuit under my name and social?? what should I do??? advise me please!!!

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I received a call from this number at work saying the same thing a pending very serious law suit against us.
Poor english very hard to understand I couldn't get the company name.  Of course asking for my SS#.

However since I dont use banks or credit cards, I found it hard to
