I had the same thing happen to me yesterday. Same name, he said he was FROM the FBI.  Threatened to have me arrested if I didn't immediately pay off on a loan I don't owe.  Called and hararrassed me at least 10 times in a row at my job.  Very embarassing, to say the least.  I hope he gets caught and FAST.  I will report him to the authorities as well.

I received a call this morning stating that there was a warrant out for my arrest because of a payday loan I received. The person's name was Benjamin Smith but he had a middle eastern accent. This person called my job and gave them all of this information but this wasn't the first time I received a call from this number, I received a call about six months ago also. This is a scam

I received a call at my place of business as well as on my cell phone. Allegedly for A DET Daniel Webster with a east indian accent. He claims to have a warrant oout for my arrest and if I did not fax him a letter stating I owuld pay him 600.00, he would have me asstrested at my job by 3p. So I went out and 3 and waitied, as I suspected nothing happened. I have contacted the BBB, the FBI, and my lacal authorities. I was advised by the FBI that there is a current investigation into this scam.

This man Daniel Webster keeps calling me. Threatening to have me put into jail for a loan i have NEVER taken out. He also has all my information. When i told him i had researched him he became very angry and hung up on me. This man is NOT involved with Law Enforcement but a Middle Eastern Scam Artist. I actually went ahead and reported him to the FBI. I suggest everyone he calls should do the same! Get this man stopped and sent back to his country if he is going to come to ours to scam people!!

I have gotten calls from this man too and he has called my work. He also told me that I was going to arrested and that the police where going to be at my home to get me. Never showed. I have gotten other calls from another number but am sure it is the same guy. Went to the police on it but got no where with them. So what can we do about it? My boss has been very good about the whole mess but I just don't know for how long he will take the harassment eather.  It's starting to really get to me. Allso I did not take out a loan from eather of the companys that he says he's from.

I got a call today from the same guy!!!!.. total Scam he started cursing at my husband he called my work #.. something needs to be done about this guy!

Just received the same call from the same guy; said his name was Daniel Webster and that the matter was extremely urgent; that we shouldn't disregard the message and if we don't call back all he can do is wish us good luck.  Didn't say what it was about, just left his number to call back.  Thanks for posting about this . . .

I recieved numerous calls form this man claiming he was with the police department in california and had a criminal warrant issue to speak to me about.  when my husband told him not to calll back he harrased him and then started eith the cursing and threats.

I did in fact take out a payday loan and I am paying it back so this was very scary. I have never done anything illicit in my entire life. the guy was not rude but he was short tempered. he had a thick Indian accent. he gave me a phone number for the "bank" so when I called it, it sounded like the same damn guy. they had some of my info and the name of the companies I took loans out with. he called my work as well. what he didn't know is that I work at a bank and my colleagues and I are trained to know a scam when we are presented with one. good luck trying to get any money out of me Daniel Webster.

I have been threaten at my doctors office by this person with accent in March, they are calling back again saying they are with federal govenerment saying I will be arrested and put in jail, they have my information but won't tell me who is trying to collect this debt.  I am reporting this number to the district attorney's office in my state of Florida, everyone else should do the same this is a scam and illegally taking information on a secured site.

officer benjamin ..he connected me to a john price...who claims he is a collector for a cashloan co. he says (zip19)
i did not get a loan from no zip19......the 1st call i got....he left a message saying if i did not call him back before 6pm .that he was going to persue action for my arrest that day for 7 months...i called them back
he wanted me to fax a statement saying i agree to pay $837.00 in payments everyweek.....
soooo i went to the bank to make sure that i did not recieve anymore loans other than the 2 that i did recieve and paid off.....they printed out every statement from the time that my account was open
and we did not see any other loans deposited to my account. the bank calls the # but he refused to talk to them...so i got on the phone while with the bank..and he tells me i would be arrested within the next half hour....the bank suggested i take the information the the police...soooo i did.....the police said they had something similar to that the day before......the police tried to call 408-905-1574 but all they got was a busy signal like the # had been disconnected......they dont me it was more thaan likely to be a scam and that they could not arrest me for fraud and could not put a block on my social security #..they said i should not worry about it and should ignore this call........then today this #calls my phone again and tells me hes going to persue for action and he was going to call my employer and report my social security #......soooo is this a scam???????????????????????????????????????

Some Guy claiming to be detective Daniel Webster keeps calling me and telling me I'm going to jail he ha my social security number my address every bit of information of mine

Detective Daniel Webster, a person with a heavy I believe Philippine accent called and asked for an employee of mine.

My Husband recieved the same phone call & when you tell him he is a scam artist he starts using foul language & will call you every name in the book! This idiot also has all of our personal information & we have no idea how these people got it also beware he uses other numbers to call one of the other numbers he called from was 443-550-7976 my girlfriend also got the same call & she told them she was a true officer of the law & starting telling them the law they hung up!

Im so glad I found this forum. I have been getting calls for nearly 2 months. From so call Det. Webster aka David Jones, James Brown and a host of other names the same person has used. I looked up the number after paying 9.95 and found that its actually through Ymax Corporation who also owns MagicJack. I called there company and also sent out letters to them considering this is an actual customer of theres using an assigned number(s) to call us and run scams!!! Something must be done!

Just received the same type of call but we knew it was a scam from the second I heard his voice. He called my girlfriend's work and they laughed at him because my girlfriend warned them that he would call. We called the FBI # above (thanks for that) and reported him. Hopefully the FEDS catch him soon. He is stupid though...so he will get caught and spend a few years in a concrete cell.

Hey "to all of you" you are a liar. Obviously a scammer with a fake post to make people who check this number think you are legitimate!!!
To anyone checking this number - this is a scam - these people have stolen your information!!! Do not fall for their lies or threats. Your social security number will not be blocked, the police are not on thier way to arrest, you will not go to jail.  Look at the wording in his post - he does not write english any better than he speaks it.  The FBI put out a press release in Dec. 2010 about this scam.  Report any calls you get to www.ic3.gov. (some of the scammers are now saying they are with ic3). They will call form different numbert using different names - but always the same ragtag story. They will refuse to give details about the loan - other than "it was sometime in 2010" they usually always end with "call me before the situation unfolds upon you - god bless" of some variation on that. Remember - you do not owe this money - they have stolen your info and are trying to extort money from you. I have been dealing with these calls off and on for 2 years now.

I received a call from this same number, 408-905-1574, (Det. Daniel Webster) to day as well. He didn't tell me an amount owed but he did tell me that he had all of the information that he needed to prosecute me and have me arrested for 7 months. He said that he was from the FBI and that if I didn't resolve the matter right now, that he would release a warrant for my arrest by 12 noon on tomorrow and I would have to pay 1500 to the courts. He also has my information, but like everyone else here, I have alerted the authorities, including the BBB and the FBI. I contacted the payday loan company that he said I had borrowed money from and they also has him inder investigation. Please, STOP sending or paying this guy. You can not be arrested for a debt. Learn your rights.

i just received a phone call from a "detective" who has a foreign accent saying i owe $445 for a cash payday loan. I have never taken out a payday loan. and he said if I don't pay it right now over the phone i will be arrested for 7 months and get sued. this is such a scam!!! tell him to go scratch himself!!!

Like everyone else complaining about the number 408-905-1574, I received a call today from the same guy (Daniel Webster) stating that he was an agent of some federal bureau of investigation and that an arrest warrant had been taken out for me for wire fraud, bank fraud, and theft by deception.  If I don't send $500 right away, the warrant will be processed and I will be imprisoned for 7 months while I am disposing of the charges.  I spent the past 35 years in prison AND met a lot of punks just like this punk who calls himself Daniel Webster.  He is a fraud and a misfit.  The feds are going to start tapping phone lines to get this guy.  Don't send him anything.  If he calls you, you should immediately proceed to contact the appropriate authorities and inform them of what this guy has said.  I am compiling information on this guy myself and, if you have anything to offer that may make it possible to locate and prosecute this individual in a qui tam proceeding, where the citizen is the prosecutor, you can send the information to me at razorsharplaw1@gmail.com. Received a call from Daniel Webster also claiming that I had an unpaid cash advance loan.  Threatened to issue a search warrant for fraud and put me in jail for up to 7 months.  They knew all my personal information, SS#, bank info, work info, everything.  I refused to pay and immediately called the FBI, an agent is currently looking into this.  Please do not hesitate to report it if you receive a call like this.  Here is the number to the FBI 210-225-6741.
