What's really interesting to me is that these jackals have no idea how our SS numbers are really used!  Our SS #s will be "affected"?  We'll be "reported to social security"?  Just DON'T ANSWER numbers you don't know, simple.  If they get no response, they do eventually give up.  They'll move on to a someone else who maybe will fall for their crap.

Got a call on 1/21/13 from a guy with an Indian accent saying that I will be sued if I don't send a western union money gram for a certain amount to settle claim. Both the Attorney General and the Jackson Law firm titles were used.

I received a call from 410-372-4784 by a man who sounded Indian claiming he was from "The Status Only Journal Office".  He threatened that my social security number would be affected in a legal matter and a lawsuit would be put against me if I did not respond to his call.  I have called back several times with no answer, no company name on recording, and no name from the person making these threats.  I recently applied for a loan online and did give personal information.  I am extremely worried now that I may be facing identity theft issues.  What should I do?

I have received many calls from the above number saying I owe them money and to wire it to them asap or that legal action would be taken against me and that I would be reported to social security. He said he was representing his client, but never gave me the clients name. He said that he could seize my bank accounts and stop my social security payments to pay back a loan he says I owe, which I don't know what he is talking about. I have filed a police report and reported it to the bank here. This needs to stop. Thanks Ann

I'm recieving the same calls from some india speaking person claiming I am being sued for fraud. I've been contacted on my work cell provided by my company. I've done some research and found out that they get information of people from Pay Day loan websites. If you apply for a Pay Day loan make sure you research the website on the Better Bureau website or by simply using google. Also if your recieving phone calls from this company notify your bank, a credit bureau, and the FTC at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ because they do have your personal information and could possibly use it or sell it which could lead to Identity Theft or theft from your bank accounts.

I got a call several times from a man claiming I have to call them back or they will take my license and all this. I yelled at him saying I reported him to the police because this isn't the first time these type of people did this to me. Well I hung up and several more times the person called and demanded a phone number to get ahold of me if I was claiming to not be who he wanted. I said stop calling me and he called again and again. I have a prepaid phone so it wastes my minutes. Anyway I don't know how to make them stop because this phone doesn't allow me to block them especially when there is no number that shows up on the screen. I only got a number because he left a voicemail with the number 410-372-4784. It is frustrating.

I dont know what the company name was, but it was an indian guy the first time saying i had got approved for a payday loan, when i hung up they called back and said i would be sued for a loan i didnt repay. They call every single day, several times a day and now they are threatening to go through my employer. I never took out a loan so i know this is a scam. When i ask who i owe, they hang up on me.

Received call at work from 410-372-4784 from Stanley Dunn advising they are from the State Attorney Office. I called the number back and they just answer "HELLO". Not the State Attorney's Office... I have reported them to the actual State Attorneys Office 713-223-5821 and made a complaint. I was advised that I have a lawsuit pending against me.. Really!!!! They just wanted me to verify my ssn.. No way in hell am i going to give them my personal info. No lawsuits pending as I work for the gvt myself.

I am also getting call from this same Guy named. Roger Brooks he is threatening. me with my personal in that he got online when I filled out an application . Help lets put him in JAIL!!!!

They just called with the same bs saying they are from the state attorney office. They are scammers. I have had these people calling me from different numbers n supposed law firms. Beware tho bc they got my bank
acct info n took $39.95 out. When I went to let my bank know, they kinda blew me off n didnt really believe me so I closed that acct n opened a new one. Hope that puts a stop to it.

Hook up a call blocker or call the phone company. They'll tell you how to block numbers.

We are getting phone calls from 410-372-4784 for one of our employ's and knowing it was a scam, i threatening to report him and he came back with threatening talk too.  My employee and I would like this to end, he has taken up enough of my employ's time.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

Received a message from an Indian Accent person who I couldn't understand his name, but it was ficticious.  He used a simple name like William Dunn which you know is a fake name with that accent from the Jackson Law Firm.  He had called yesterday with a different name and company.  He threatened me with a lawsuit and I will not return the call because they are all scammers from an Indian country calling with prepaid calling cards or phones from the USA.  This phone was purchased in Maryland and I know for a fact that he was calling outside the USA.  We must put a stop to these criminals and have them committed in prison for a very long time.  I have contacted the FBI, FTC, Credit Bureaus, Police Dept., Attorney General.  It is illegal to call your place of business and threaten you will these criminial actions which they are committing.  If anyone receives a call; just ignore them because they are scammers who stole our identity and must be stopped forever.
