I block all unknown numbers and am on the dnc list. Still got this unknown number.  
Has anyone heard about spoofing? I complained about numerous calls and was told that they can spoof that is display a number that is not theirs.
Does anyone know the name of this company and if the number is legit so I can file a formal complaint?

Thanks for the info.  In Dec, I hardly got any calls.  Now my phone is ringing all day with scams such as this.  I will report them.

Thank you Harold for that information.  I reported this number to the FTC.  It came up as 'unavailable' and immediately came here for more info.  I'm in the process of purchasing a home and wonder why they would be calling me.

Caller hung up when I answered. Info indicates it is a land line near Baltimore.

Scam. Recording supposedly about "the government's Economic Stimulus Home Loan Program" .... Caller ID just said Maryland.

I got a call from this number on dec 20th but did not answer.

My number is on the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) national Do Not Call registry.

I receive a call from this number - 410-442-4270 - on numerous occasions; nearly every day.  My Caller ID displays only the "Wireless Caller."  It is likely a fake telephone number but that does not matter.  Also, it does not matter what the live or automated caller says, it is likely false information until you are sucked in anyway.  After you return the call to the number they provide, you find out the real reason and originator of the call.

EVERY TIME I receive an unwanted call such as this one I report it to the FTC using its online complaint format.  It doesn't matter if it is a fake number or not.  I provide the date, time of the call, what the Caller ID displayed and the message if there was one.  This action lets the FTC know that people are tired of unwanted calls - and if they (the FTC) want the reports to stop, they must stop the unwanted calls by imposing heavy fines or allowing the commercial providers such as Verizon, etc. to block the numbers.

These companies/individuals know that most people will not bother to complain to the FTC - that is what they are relying on.  Thus, they stay under the FTC's radar.  Complaining at this website, other than identifying the caller and letting others know they are not unique, does little to stop the calls.

If more people would complain to the FTC and not just complain on this forum, the FTC WILL take action against these annoying callers.  The FTC does not act on one complaint alone.  It takes many complaints before they will take action - but they DO take action if enough citizens complain.

Called on 12/21/11. No message left. Called back number and was reported as being out of service.

First call from this number; caller unknown so did not pick up phone.

Oh no another unwanted call. Caller ID indicated Ellicott City MD. Didn't answer...googled the number. Glad that I did..as it brought me to this website. Now I know to continue to let it ring.

If you get a call from this number please don't answer it it's a scam!!!!!!!!

Keeps calling my number about the same time each day, when I call the number back, get the recording that it is a non working number. Maryland Verizon is the carrier.

NV4P9umber came up on Caller I.D..Did no recognize it and did no answer it.
