I just block the number in my cell phone. That stops them. Not sure about a landline.

Funny, you keep calling my parents from this number trying to set them up with a work from home scam of sorts, but you are saying you only do research.  Yeah, right.

Called a few times, I picked up once and they asked for me to do a survey. I said no and asked them to stop calling me and they screamed okay and hung up.

A jobs a job but this number calls at all hours of the day and night and no one is ever there when i do answer and they never leave messages. Not the first time we've got calls from this number. They call for about a week straight and then stop for a while and then it all starts again.

As a survey research company, we are not required to subscribe to the National Do Not Call Registry - however it is never our intent to disturb people when we call them at home.

didn't know who R Bernett was, so I didn't answer the fone.  SO FAR, we've only got one "local" call from this #. After reading the posts here, I went to Bernett Research web page and found this statement:

Bernett can have up to 250 interviewers making calls at any given time. Trained interviewers can initiate more than 10,000 calls an hour.

GREAT huh?   Appears this won't stop any time soon.

Got a call from this number last night around 8:00 PM...no message.

What really takes me back though are the responses from people here... everyone  is affronted by this person who's mission is to personally aggravate them?   Why not just pick up the phone and spend 30 seconds to find out what the call is about, and politely state that "we" ask not to be called again.   Then, if the number keeps calling, you have something to be annoyed with.   Be safe.  Don't volunteer information like you have three kids under 5 yeards old, but I think this can be handled better.

This caller calls everyday. We don't answer callers we don't know. They never leave a message. This is very annoying!

Very annoying , keeps calling leaves no messages.  We are sick and tired of these calls,  all hours of day and night.  We don't answer as caller ID says unknown name.  Do Not Call List is worthless.

This number keeps calling all hours of the day and night, never leaves a message so it can't be that important.  Only rings maybe 3 x  then hangs up.  Very disgusted by these annoying calls especially late at night. We have turned all these numbers that call continuously to a legal office. We are on the do not call list, but that is the joke of the century, as it does nothing to prevent these idiots from calling.

This number calls all hours of the day and night,  no messages, no one on the other end  Why bother with the Do Not Call List, it doesn't help at all to keep getting these annoying idiots calling!!  I am seeking legal action.  It comes up on the caller ID as Bernett Research.

This person just called me (2pm).  Claimed to be some research survey about my television experience or something.  (I could not understand this guy at all).  So i said ok I will do the survey.  Then i thought he asked me if i thought it was ok to use a phone while driving and I said no, but what he actually said when he repeated the question with my answer was "So you are not in a safe place where you can do this survey?"  Then I was like, "ohhh sorry i couldn't hear you, yes I'm in a safe place"  He then got frustrated or something and just said thanks for your time, he hung up.  So I do not know if this is legitimate, but that guy really cannot talk properly.

Unknown caller does not leave a message

Also got a call from this # at 8:30p.  I didnt answer and they left no message.

Someone from this number called me at 9 PM and claimed to be from "Burnet" research wanting to talk to the youngest person in the house over 25. I told him I have three kids five and under and don't call my house again at 9 PM.
