They probably got your info from an app you allowed to access your Facebook account. Report the Yahoo ID to Yahoo abuse and the texting number to abuse@textplus.com

i got a weird text too!! except it was 805-842-3421...it just said Hi Brandon and i asked who it was and it was like "Sry.. mi Iphones dying" and i asked who it was again and they were like "add me on Y! msg textgirly79" and i said no and they didnt respond...

Im in Oklahoma & just got the same message Saying "Hi Greenly" then when I replied Who is this they told me to add them on Y! Textichiki45? Creeped me out after reading the top message! My husband was non too happy lol He would LOVE to meet this mystery person

I'm in Spokane & just got a TM: "hola, Vince".  I TM'ed back & no response.  I think it's a prankster who got my name & number off a Craig's List add.  Or maybe Facebook.  I'm not worred.  50 years ago we used to ring door bells and run.  I guess this is the 2012 version.

Other posters say they have had success in forwarding these illegal texts to 7726. They are picked up by your cell phone carrier who will ask you to send them the phone number so they can investigate and have spam filters installed to block the texts. I just got the same text. How do these people know our names? I sent a vague response because I have a bro-in-law in PA, so thought it might be some buddy of his, but obviously not. I haven't heard back. Should have read this first, then I could have said wrong number.

Same story as most. Got a text with saying, "hey Jessie?" and then I responded asking who they were.  They responded that if I wanted to know who they were I had to add them on Yahoo! Messenger (..random)  

It's not 1998, so I don't have that.  I told them no.

No response.

I live in Oregon.  The number is a Pennsylvania area code and reads as a landline.

I got a text but not a call.

I just got a text from this number also. I replied asking who it was and got a response saying to add them on yahoo messenger to find out.

I also just got a text from this number.  "hey Travis!!!!" I replied with just a ? And got no response... Interesting...

I just got a text from this number asking me "Hey Kathy?" I replied two times and no answer. I thought it was really weird, and after reading your post, should I be worried? Have you had any contact since you changed your number and moved?

I got several texts from this number they first came off innocent like "Hey Dorth how have you been" I text back thinking it might be someone I knew and that's when the person kept texting me disturbing details such as where I lived. I thought it was one of my friends messing with me but when I went to return a movie at a Redbox I returned to my car to look at my phone and that's when I got the message saying "So how was the movie?" and complementing me on my work cloths. I've never been so scared in whole life. I called the cops but there was nothing they could do or at least nothing they wanted to do as the phone wasn't listed in anyone's name . I lived my whole life in Houston I was so freaked that I moved and changed my phone number. Now im always looking over my shoulder thinking this person may be out there somewhere looking for me.
